@Telstra Yep. Unfortunately I’m so disgusted with the way I’ve been treated as a customer will see me head to @optus Telstra high prices dont reflect the service you receive from staff when there is a problem. It’s disgraceful. By far the worst telco I have dealt with, ever.

@PatriceCoz @Havenaar64 Great point. I haven’t been hacked in Optus and not in Medibank. Saw some fearful sheep terrified on the news. Lol Why would we trust this stuff. we should never ever trust or abide a digital system. Even writing it hurts. It’s just bigger, more corruptible and more hackable

@ClareONeilMP I am an Optus and Medicare customer who received a very plausible Telstra bill look alike scam email today. Companies must be required to their improve cybersecurity and have expensive consequences for not protecting customer data.

@FinancialReview Optus & companies like Optus, are not above the Law in Australia & our laws are real. It is very clear & obvious that due to the serious nature of events, which have been confirmed as having compromised the identities of many customers, 'The Privacy Act' has in fact, been broken.

@ceagles40nil @Optus Because decryption. All the data you’re referring to needs to be retrieved in the clear at some time, so now you have both a key management problem and the remaining necessity to show the data in clear text.

@twtrrr @GrogsGamut Systems (and the data it holds) can be breached regardless of whether it is hosted in onshore or not. Which data retention laws? The metadata retention laws that telcos had to comply with were part of the problem, but hardly the root cause for why Optus suffered the breach.

Oh man, just been notified of my third data breach! First Optus, then Medibank Private and now MyDeal! #WTF will it take for these companies to take their security obligations seriously. I haven’t been a customer of MedPrivate for 4 years
