Optus Issues Reports Near Brisbane, State of Queensland

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Brisbane and nearby locations:

  • Matteris :Matt. (@Matteris) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@EVillainess @markrayfield2 @Jeremy_Kirk Better check the ACMA carrier legislation and then the audit requirements. 👍 Optus have failed to maintain customer privacy. Failed to secure the private data AND have failed to protect data IMO this was a deliberate act from cabal to force a cyber security event in the future.

  • Flansq Bonshaquita’lafondria (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@_marty_k I dumped Voda for poor 5G coverage and rollout. Optus is still much better in that regard.

  • JamesCridland James Cridland (@JamesCridland) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Yeahbutnaahh @Optus Optus informed me last week that my Australian passport number has been compromised. Narrator: James didn't have an Australian passport when he was an Optus customer. He is confused.

  • phocks Joshua Byrd (@phocks) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

tbh private health insurance shouldn't even exist (neither should private telecommunications - looking at you optus) and should be shut down immediately as they've proven they can't be trusted with our data, but that's another story /rant over

  • girlondon Kathryn Geels (@girlondon) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@alsotheabyss @LaurenBeldi I felt the same about filling out those forms even before the Optus incident. It really wasn’t very clear how they used the information, how they stored it and where, who had access to it, and how long they keep it.

  • barryrutherford Barry Rutherford | Parkrun fan (@barryrutherford) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@AnitaHeiss @Optus I’ve had two emails confirming my data had been breached even though I haven’t been a customer since 2005

  • barryrutherford Barry Rutherford | Parkrun fan (@barryrutherford) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@InsidersABC Including me who was last an Optus customer in2005

  • Team_LiLy MissLiLy (@Team_LiLy) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

hey @newscomauHQ saw your article on @Optus about their incompetency and the hecking! They told me I wasn’t hacked and then a month later told me I was! Being trying to find a resolution and they are useless. Reach out if you want the story!

  • barryrutherford Barry Rutherford | Parkrun fan (@barryrutherford) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@ClareONeilMP I haven’t been an Optus customer since 2004 yet I received a letter from the CEO that my Data had been leaked. It’s left me worried.

  • Flansq Bonshaquita’lafondria (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@_marty_k Ugh. No thank you. I haven’t used a SimCard at all since I moved to Optus. When I ported from vids phone on the iPhone 12, I just activated via the app. Same deal with the 14PM. Just had to phone to get them to issue a new eSim to the app (transfer phone to phone didn’t work)

  • babybrit babybrit (@babybrit) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@DezMaggs @Optus No contact from them to me either but thanks to @TrendMicro nearly 6,000 spam sms scams have been prevented... I struggle to even have service on certain days and times... it sucks.

  • twasink Robert Watkins (@twasink) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@haruki_zaemon @Optus I’ll try again when I upgrade my phone (which arrives in a couple of weeks). That will include shifting to a new 5G plan, which will hopefully fix the weirdness.

  • fanaticeel ScubaSteve (@fanaticeel) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@peter__kay I think many will abandon Optus. At least the state governments have agreed to allow people to change their licences however that doesn't help those who used their passports. I hope it doesn't happen but someone could lose a lot of money

  • Flansq Bonshaquita’lafondria (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Does anyone else find Optus 5G regularly shows as connected with full service, but no data will transfer? Websites won’t open, apps won’t connect etc?

  • lesstenny Politic@l Spinner. (@lesstenny) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Great.. I'm blaming you @Optus our credit card has been compromised three times with dodgy transactions.. My wife now has to get a new card.. Again I say **** you optus, we are so pissed off

  • barryrutherford Barry Rutherford | Parkrun fan (@barryrutherford) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@JanB_QLD @joshgnosis Moreover i have not been a customer for 15 years yet I received a letter from Optus saying it was likely my personal information had been stolen.

  • nickshewring nick shewring (@nickshewring) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@JarradLawrence Did the data breach effect only current customers or anyone that’s been a @Optus customer over the years?

  • Adam_Meyer1 Adam Meyer (@Adam_Meyer1) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Hi there. Still doesn't work correctly

  • fanaticeel ScubaSteve (@fanaticeel) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@peter__kay It's truly appalling. And due to present laws passed by the previous govt Optus won't be fined! However that doesn't help what happened. I haven't been with optus since 96.. hmm I should be ok

  • mairzy3039 💧John Mair QGM (@mairzy3039) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

What the hell are Stefanovic and Canavan on Today talking about? They are saying Gladys is the person to fix Optus. FFS 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • SnappyTom86 Tom Bell (@SnappyTom86) reported

@Optus Greetings, I am trying to purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G on a 36mth plan but the online portal requires that I have a driver's license or a passport. I don't drive but I do have a "Proof of Age" card. Hoping you are able to help here. Regards, -- Tom.

  • nemuinell 넬Nell (@nemuinell) reported

@jianyis omfg lmaoooo vodafail i keep having issues with them.. might move to Optus

  • Eemzee15 David Emes (@Eemzee15) reported

@jennamclarke @westaustralian @perthnow Hypocritical and nonsensical all at the same time. 50,000 can milk around outside Optus and on trains but can’t do it at a Dawn Service. Either the CHO or the Government and their bureaucrats (most likely all) are morons out of their depth. People could force this change.

  • CharlSweets Charlene (@CharlSweets) reported

@Optus Thanks a lot for disconnecting my internet with an outage so I can’t work from home today. Worst timing ever. 😡

  • jajadaba jake (@jajadaba) reported

@Optus Too bad I don't live in newy.

  • loupavia Lou (@loupavia) reported

@Optus How can Optus justify charging $15 late payment fee on $$135 bill to a loyal customer something is wrong here the interest rate is over 500% on a yearly basis can someone explain

  • RyanWil62993886 Ryan Williams (@RyanWil62993886) reported

@1Swinging_Voter This China bloke has no shame. It is all Australia's fault. I wonder if he is referring to the time I advised Optus not to use Huawei as the equipment could not be trusted security-wise, as any part of the network could be dialed into, and only Chinese techs could do installation

  • nervouswee ailis (@nervouswee) reported

@Optus I was on hold for 16 minutes only to then have to hang up and start again because I couldn’t get back to the Optus loop line

  • ardtarig Donald Campbell (@ardtarig) reported

Another poor experience trying to fix stuff with @optus . Can't talk to anyone.

  • thesheika Ali Davey ألي (@thesheika) reported

@Optus my 90 year old mother's email was cancelled after I disconnected her ph yesterday. I was told yesterday at 4.35 it woud not be cancelled for 90 days. But gone today. No sense from the rude call centre staff. Who can I talk to please?
