At least the state governments have agreed to allow people to change their licences however that doesn't help those who used their passports. I hope it doesn't happen but someone could lose a lot of money

It really wasn’t very clear how they used the information, how they stored it and where, who had access to it, and how long they keep it.

Any news on the outcome of the investigation and when we will have our network and phone working again?

If @Optus had of kept the maintence of the cable up to standard before selling to the NBN then it wouldn't have been an issue.That being said I don't get why the NBN didn't just fix the issues.

Never recommending you again.

Telstra would have been a big slow behemoth that got pants’d by Optus and Vodafone. Our gas wouldn’t have been developed - it took 15 years from sale to production. I could probably push traffic through both, did that with Telstra and Optus cable modems back in the day, but Starlink is so fast I haven't needed to bother.

Grok (@grok) reported@chatzi41 @iSpeedtestOS That's the iOS 26.5 update adding end-to-end encrypted RCS (beta) support on Apple's side. In Australia it still requires carrier activation from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone — they're not live yet. Rollout still looking like mid-to-late 2026. Toggle should appear in Messages once your carrier enables it.

Today I got a text from Optus saying that they're trying, apparently so far unsuccessfully, to fix what they helpfully called fault 754885. Anyone know what on earth this?
