  • twasink
Robert Watkins (@twasink) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@haruki_zaemon @Optus I’ll try again when I upgrade my phone (which arrives in a couple of weeks). That will include shifting to a new 5G plan, which will hopefully fix the weirdness.

David O'Donoghoe (@david_odonoghoe) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

dearest @optus , I phoned you, and asked to be put through to the customer retention team. So far, I have been transferred 4 times, and am now on hold.. after being told that the wait time will be 15 minutes. #optus

Optus being down is causing me all sorts of issues at work today.

  • Matteris
:Matt. (@Matteris) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@EVillainess @markrayfield2 @Jeremy_Kirk Better check the ACMA carrier legislation and then the audit requirements. 👍 Optus have failed to maintain customer privacy. Failed to secure the private data AND have failed to protect data IMO this was a deliberate act from cabal to force a cyber security event in the future.

  • NigelBell19
💧Nigel Bell (@NigelBell19) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@Greybeard3 @JohnBirmingham @Optus I didn't go to TPG but I did leave Optus. I twice had to call to cancel, going through the whole process twice. But, for over a year now, Optus still sends me monthly invoices that (a) state that I have a 9 cent credit & (b) the 9 cents is zeroed off at the end of each invoice.

Politic@l Spinner (@LesStonehouse) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Hi @Optus no internet since early this morning which means landline phone's not working.. we have a sick mother-in-law who needs to communicate with us.. could you please Mark this is urgent in the Mitchelton area cheers

  • Flansq
Bonshaquita’lafondria (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@_marty_k I dumped Voda for poor 5G coverage and rollout. Optus is still much better in that regard.

  • fanaticeel
ScubaSteve (@fanaticeel) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@peter__kay It's truly appalling. And due to present laws passed by the previous govt Optus won't be fined! However that doesn't help what happened. I haven't been with optus since 96.. hmm I should be ok

  • etredoo
D (@etredoo) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@optus HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU for being the provider that got our NBN installed in less than 2 weeks. No text messages back and forth for 6 weeks just amazing service! @Telstra you need to take a leaf out of their book 6 weeks of bullshit vs 2 weeks and NBN installed #yesoptus

  • blake_andersson
Gerimima StFrostfirst (@blake_andersson) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

    @lukeacl @halftimbered @tuppaware @BeauGiles @AppleMusic @Mardukian @twistieman FWIW I’m on Optus (don’t hate me) and I have zero issues like what’s been described ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • lesstenny
Politic@l Spinner. (@lesstenny) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Great.. I'm blaming you @Optus our credit card has been compromised three times with dodgy transactions.. My wife now has to get a new card.. Again I say **** you optus, we are so pissed off

  • duttonkona
andrew dutton (@duttonkona) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Been 2 days without NBN in Mansfield qld. Silence from @optus but they confirm there is an outage.

  • ITrustLabor
Dirk (@ITrustLabor) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@Optus We seem to have an outage in the 4506 postcode.

  • todd42246896
Todd Hacking (@todd42246896) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Hey @Optus - I’m so annoyed. The service I’ve received is beyond appalling. I have a personal account and recently changed the business account to you but I’m told your crm system can’t differentiate or create two distinct entities - causing confusion and mix ups. It’s 2021!

  • bryce_parker26
Bryce Parker (@bryce_parker26) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@TheSportsFreak @OptusStadium That’s really poor I did agree with your point about the WACA the only tests that should be played at Optus are Ashes and India They probably should have given perth a South African tests given the expat population as well

  • lissyvz67
Lissy (@lissyvz67) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Is it an #optus tactic to make getting something fixed so difficult that customers just give up? I've had no nbn since 16th February and no one at #optus seems to care or want to help her the nbn working again. My son works from home. This is just not acceptable.

  • gb7004
greg bradley (@gb7004) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Dear @Optus you are a disgrace, cancel my ADSL as I am signed up to NBN well I would be but still waiting for a modem from you from 10th Oct, rang help desk and Annika CB690949 was going to ring me back in 10/15 minutes 40 minutes.

  • GlenNixon
Glen Nixon (@GlenNixon) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

From the evidence I have to conclude that @Optus don’t have anyone working in a call centre. They just play music at you until you give up. #service

  • carrygale
    carrygale (@carrygale) reported

@normboy562 It is not her fault that Telstra went down. It is not her fault that Optus went down a couple of years ago. It is her fault that she has done **** all in the years between those two outages to solve the problem of 000.

  • RayJCapo79
    RayCapogreco (@RayJCapo79) reported

I hope the telecommunications industry fines @Telstra for this outage the same way they did Optus!!!

  • DanielleHitch
    Danielle Hitch (@DanielleHitch) reported

Update 5. Annnddd we're done. "Glad we've been able to help you. This case is now resolved" So, if you are hearing impaired you are not welcome at Optus ... they will only help you if you can speak on the phone. Disgraceful in this day and age @Optus. @Vodafone, here I come!

  • itsgoyimtime
    Supergoy (@itsgoyimtime) reported

@JH_Otway_Ranges @FranMooMoo Hanlon’s Razor or whatever razor that states never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity. Optus staff literally left a URL public that was supposed to be private and someone stumbled on it.

  • TigerAncient
    Ancient Tiger (@TigerAncient) reported

@TonyShepherd4 As the shadow minister for emergency communications it is great she tested the system. It was supposed to switch to another network (e.g. Telstra to Optus) in case of an outage of one of them. That didn't occur and she found a fault there. I expect my elected parliamentarians to test the systems they have a portfolio of. By the way, as soon as Teltra asked her not to test it again, she stopped. Good try there, though, but again, you landed well short of common sense.

  • evangelinestuff
    Evangeline (@evangelinestuff) reported

@thmsenglsh also their service is $70 a month for no good reason (they raised it because they added satellite sms) they profit consistently every year whereas optus basically makes a little more than enough to continue operating, the difference in revenue is crazy between the two

  • Rolly50Hundred
    Rolly polly (@Rolly50Hundred) reported

@FranMooMoo I’m in. Telstra and Optus have had the market monopoly for too long and wtf do we get for it? Excellent coverage in the Gold Coast and absolutely woeful phone reception in the entire rest of the country. Starlink will level the playing field nationwide.

  • Thelandofark
    Arkers (@Thelandofark) reported

@matt_barrie @van00sa And the Optus network went down right after Albanese visited Beijing in November 2023.

  • jamesabernard
    James Bernard 🇦🇺✝️☕🎸 (@jamesabernard) reported

Telstra network issues rumble on in qld. Messages delayed Calls dropped. How's Optus & Vodaphone doing?

  • Ma_rk_e
    M_a_r_ke (@Ma_rk_e) reported

@OneNewsAu optus announced the partnership with starlink on July 12 2023 and telstra announced it on July 3rd 2023, Telstra starlink messaging started June 3 2025 optus? well nothing. "covers blackspots telstra never will" that might make sense if telstra also didn't get starlink messaging
