@haruki_zaemon @Optus I’ll try again when I upgrade my phone (which arrives in a couple of weeks). That will include shifting to a new 5G plan, which will hopefully fix the weirdness.

  • ShaneAusKiwi Shane Harris (@ShaneAusKiwi) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

This is the year I cancel everything. Foxtel's gone. Uber's gone. Doordash gone. Optus gone.

  • fanaticeel ScubaSteve (@fanaticeel) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@peter__kay It's truly appalling. And due to present laws passed by the previous govt Optus won't be fined! However that doesn't help what happened. I haven't been with optus since 96.. hmm I should be ok

  • Matteris :Matt. (@Matteris) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@EVillainess @markrayfield2 @Jeremy_Kirk Better check the ACMA carrier legislation and then the audit requirements. 👍 Optus have failed to maintain customer privacy. Failed to secure the private data AND have failed to protect data IMO this was a deliberate act from cabal to force a cyber security event in the future.

  • EthicalAdviser Steve Putt (@EthicalAdviser) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Hi @Optus just got this message about ‘not returning my fetch box’. I have told you repeatedly over the last 12 months that my house burnt down and there is no fetch box. I have begged to speak with a real person with no luck. I’ll need confirmation by the end of the

  • bryce_parker26 Bryce Parker (@bryce_parker26) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@TheSportsFreak @OptusStadium That’s really poor still think all test should be played in school holidays I did agree with your point about the WACA the only tests that should be played at Optus are Ashes and India They probably should have given perth a South African tests given the expat population

  • EthicalAdviser Steve Putt (@EthicalAdviser) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Hello again @Optus . I have been on the chat service 1 hr and 45 minutes and this is the most recent message ‘As per checked, there was a usage on it. May I know if this happened to one place? Or to other places?’ Do you deliberately make it difficult to solve problems?

  • EthicalAdviser Steve Putt (@EthicalAdviser) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

After telling the optus chat line that my house had burned down and that I had tried repeatedly to get the nbn cancelled (which I am still paying for), she asked me, and I kid you not, if I had tried turning it off and turning it back on again. I…I don’t know how to answer.

  • EthicalAdviser Steve Putt (@EthicalAdviser) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

The Optus fellow told me to DM me the problem and give him ‘as much info as possible’. Hoo boy, he’s asking for it.

  • phocks Joshua Byrd (@phocks) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

tbh private health insurance shouldn't even exist (neither should private telecommunications - looking at you optus) and should be shut down immediately as they've proven they can't be trusted with our data, but that's another story /rant over

  • Willow07935405 Willow (@Willow07935405) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Anthony_Klan They are id##ts I got a letter today but it was addressed to my house but with someone else’s name, I’ve lived at this address for 32 years and have been a optus customer since then 😳

  • JamesCridland James Cridland (@JamesCridland) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Yeahbutnaahh @Optus Optus informed me last week that my Australian passport number has been compromised. Narrator: James didn't have an Australian passport when he was an Optus customer. He is confused.

  • StephenABeckett Stephen Beckett (@StephenABeckett) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus trying to change my voicemail message to say I’m on leave. Apparently my phone number is invalid. Pls help

  • Flansq Bonshaquita’lafondria (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@_marty_k I dumped Voda for poor 5G coverage and rollout. Optus is still much better in that regard.

  • fanaticeel ScubaSteve (@fanaticeel) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@peter__kay I think many will abandon Optus. At least the state governments have agreed to allow people to change their licences however that doesn't help those who used their passports. I hope it doesn't happen but someone could lose a lot of money

  • nickshewring nick shewring (@nickshewring) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@JarradLawrence Did the data breach effect only current customers or anyone that’s been a @Optus customer over the years?

  • bryce_parker26 Bryce Parker (@bryce_parker26) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@TheSportsFreak @OptusStadium That’s really poor I did agree with your point about the WACA the only tests that should be played at Optus are Ashes and India They probably should have given perth a South African tests given the expat population as well

hey @newscomauHQ saw your article on @Optus about their incompetency and the hecking! They told me I wasn’t hacked and then a month later told me I was! Being trying to find a resolution and they are useless. Reach out if you want the story!

  • JackRhysider Jack Rhysider (@JackRhysider) reported

@Heyagarn @DarknetDiaries @Optus When the stops being news about it, that's when it'll be ready to tell. I'm a slow news junkie so I'll read up on this in a few years, see where it's at and if it's ready to tell. Seems like if I publish something now, I'll miss most of the story.

  • JohnLee84586356 GinJohn 💧💦🐀 (@JohnLee84586356) reported

@SenPaterson @SenatorWong Optus should be the ones covering peoples costs. They are the ones with inappropriate security of customer data. More corporate welfare for your mates?

  • MarkBaileyMP Mark Bailey MP (@MarkBaileyMP) reported

@GerardineTweets @TMRQld @TMRQld customers can visit their local Customer Service Centre and bring the following documentation: o Optus data breach notice, or o written notification from an enforcement authority, AND o evidence of identity. We have also set up a dedicated hotline (07 3097 3108)

  • 2020digging Bo Reidler (@2020digging) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@abcnews Patterson reckons companies make errors? This is unadulterated negligence. @Optus has failed in their *legal* responsibility to keep their customers’ data safe. APP11. Penny pinching on security while dishing it out for incompetent executives is a recipe for disaster.

  • joshrowe Josh Rowe (@joshrowe) reported

@GeoffsOpinions You can cancel early with Optus & just pay out the device fee.

  • BilboBa77842165 Bilbo Baggins (@BilboBa77842165) reported

@PaulFletcherMP Had a decade in power doing nothing but now trying to avoid responsibility for all that rubbish. Speaking of which, apparently as Communications Minister your Dept minimised Optus' security testing requirements in 2020? As an Optus customer I am livid - pure LNP incompetence!

  • timburrowes Tim Burrowes - Unmade (@timburrowes) reported

Optus's dispute with cyber security minister Clare O'Neil was not worth having. Better to roll over on the question of how basic the attack was. It was bad luck for the public affairs team that portfolios changed with the new government and they probably lacked key relationships

  • 10NewsFirstAdl 10 News First Adelaide (@10NewsFirstAdl) reported

SA Optus users compromised by the hack can renew their license at a Service SA centre.

  • blue_sti Ivor Carr ✳️✳️ (@blue_sti) reported

Ditched Optus years ago & moved to Telstra. Shocking service so moved to Vodafone, same same so moved to Aussie. So far, so good

  • brodiewest brodiewest (@brodiewest) reported

@SenPaterson @Birmo Optus wasn't responsible for the data breach? They left a test site live and a hacker essentially walked through an open front door and accessed customer data. There is definitely some fault on Optus's part here, and taxpayers should not be paying for their corporate mistakes.
