  • neilmaddo10 Neil Maddison (@neilmaddo10) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Trying to get hooked up to @Optus nbn... Monday they said, now it won’t be. Ready for two weeks of arguing like last time. Customer service is not at all important to them.

  • AlexJSmithy Alex Smith (@AlexJSmithy) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Telstra It has a yargi rooftop antenna. Installer says the issue is alignment of distant cells and jumping from one to other and dropping out. Have 4 bars on Optus.

  • hillyshoist Hilly73 (@hillyshoist) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

If your after some useless customer support look no further than #Apple and #optus another cracked screen and no assistance. Looks like #telstra and #Samsung will be the winners here

  • brandonlung_ brandon (@brandonlung_) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@lavosaurus Ooh that’s sick! Someone told me to complain about my wifi being shit (Optus as well) and they’ll give me free stuff, so maybe I do both and get all the benefits haha

  • brandonlung_ brandon (@brandonlung_) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@lavosaurus Oh shit that’s decent! A while back I saw Optus doing a specia that was $40 for 80gb, so that’s what I’m realllly hoping for eventually. Also just realised my plan ends in October so your way might be able to happen sooner than later haha

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia @Optus NBN HFC 6 weeks of daily multiple dropouts. 4 NBN tech visits + 1 Optus & the issue is still not resolved. Optus modem replaced, NTD replaced, F-connectors replaced but tech not permitted check the connection on the street. Farcical!

  • DanielBox87 Daniel Box 🇬🇧🇦🇺 (@DanielBox87) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@falmouth_wolf Im watching on optus sport, they're just as biased towards city. Never get any credit do little old #wolves

  • Dr_Xiang_Li Xiang Li 李翔 (@Dr_Xiang_Li) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@martinalexsmith @TWBredy Jealous, locked in for another 6 month with this optus ADSL service...

  • LemStar71 Lema Niumata Noel (@LemStar71) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

I’m so disappointed with your service tonight @Optus, chatted with 3 people who disconnected on me 3 times, I just called & the guy said he cldn’t access my details to call back in 2hrs. We haven’t been able to get connection. #nothappy

  • GregStonham GregStonham (@GregStonham) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@cathywilcox1 @Optus I hope they're a having a good hard look at themselves after loosing my phone 18 days ago, and refusing me a loan phone, refusing to suspend my network access charges and refusing to replace the original handset, which was still under warranty

  • AlexJSmithy Alex Smith (@AlexJSmithy) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Telstra Matthew, thanks for the offer but @Telstra mobile coverage is so poor at my house that extra data is not much use. In fact I have to rely on wificalling to use the mobile. Fortunately our other mobiles are on @Optus which has great coverage.

  • Tur71e Brett Turville (@Tur71e) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus my 4G broadband at #stafford is so bad. Either that or the @Huawei modem. Not an isolated event. Really question the advertising around super fast 4g. Every night a snail pace speed. #nbn #broadband #nombps #slowinternet

  • mycrouch Jason Crouch (@mycrouch) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Bit hit and miss. If I turn airplane mode on and off it reconnects just fine. I’ve also reset my phones network settings. It’s happened a couple of times today. I’ll monitor it.

  • WhiplashUnited Mickey Dee (@WhiplashUnited) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Can’t even watch a five minute video because .@optus is useless. Worse still it’s NBN.I pay $85 month for a failing service. Rort.

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia The problem is the techs that are sent won’t check the connection on the street. They change something internally for no good reason and report back that the fault is fixed which it is not. I go back to @Optus and the same process happens again.

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • LE_Kay88 L.E. (@LE_Kay88) reported

Went to get a licence with my correct name on it today (my middle names were separated by a comma, not a space) and there was a security guard letting the Optus licence renewals in. I heard him say “it was a scam” and “it was a security problem not a data breach”… sigh.

  • evangeorgevoug Evangelos G (@evangeorgevoug) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk @Optus @medibank Anyone that says Optus' approach is either ignorant, or simply has not lived through a ransomware or even cyber-incident broadly. Fronting media, open communication, presenting the facts as they are UNCOVERED is the key.

  • DaveONewcastle David J O'Brien 🌏💧 (@DaveONewcastle) reported

Gov shld be informed of full extent of breach& help manage notification. Void in notification process exists for fmr customers who's current email& ph no' aren't held by #optus. *NB-Notification via priv' no' is not an effective response as many ppl ignore calls from priv no's.

  • asparagus_rose Aspa_Rose (@asparagus_rose) reported

Hey @Optus it's disappointing that your customer service team lack awareness of the #VicFlood in Maribyrnong. After being on hold, transferred twice, then disconnected, I dread having to explain AGAIN why I can't simply take my modem to a new home.

  • nye_nicola Nicola N (@nye_nicola) reported

@meccabeauty Asking for copies of my ID documents doesn’t seem like a good anti-fraud measure given the risk associated with that kind of data. And doubly so since you hang onto it even after the transaction is completed. This is exactly the problem Optus is facing right now.

  • Garfiel1010 Garfield (@Garfiel1010) reported

@ServiceNSW Do I not need to replace my driver's license if I am not a Optus customer ?

  • dgorbach 💙💛 David L. Gorbach (@dgorbach) reported

@GladysB Optus and the Optus App have gone from great to good to terrible. Humans want a sensible voice on a the phone. Just because it can be automised doesn’t mean it’s wise.

  • nye_nicola Nicola N (@nye_nicola) reported

@meccabeauty A fraud detection system will not help me if I have given you copies of my passport (to verify my credit card) and you experience a data breach. Don’t hold onto data you don’t need: then it can’t be breached. Don’t do an Optus! (Fraud doesn’t enter into it.)

  • The_Karmelian Ben 😎 (@The_Karmelian) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk @Optus @medibank very true. at least Medibank is fronting media. All Optus can do is send apology email 2 weeks ago with Dear Customer, Not even a name. I wonder if they have control over all data systems. Do both use same parent CRM software?
