Optus Issues Reports Near Melbourne, State of Victoria

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Melbourne and nearby locations:

  • themediapod Ross Monaghan (@themediapod) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Optus app service shows service unavailable!! Called to Optus put me on hold transfer me to other departments and call hung up. I want to get my Optus perks work!! This is not acceptable service!!

  • elvinaMS elvina sindartha ♕ (@elvinaMS) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus your wifi sucks BIG TIME

  • KoparaFallsKid Robyn D (@KoparaFallsKid) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Pamelanicholls6 @andrewofoz @JaneCaro @Telstra I do that too, using my phone as a hotspot. But that chews through the data allowance and they (in my case Optus) don't let you have extra phone data because the internet is down. They still charge $10 a Gb for extra usage over the monthly allowance.

  • _prkr Parker (@_prkr) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Turns on data roaming and it connects to optus... settings>data>network> @Telstra 🙏🏻

  • iDineshRoy Dinesh Kumar Roy (@iDineshRoy) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hello @Optus, I am at Osway St, Broadmeadows VIC. The internet is too slow. It has been slow for a long time.

  • TeamBloomart Guy Incognito (@TeamBloomart) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus I used to pay my dad's bigpond account (in his name, my cc direct debit deets). When he died I tried to cancel the account. Imagine how that went.

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Your technician said I wasn’t home. I was home all morning. I did not hear any knock on my door. Not even a call or message to me. And again they rescheduled on 6 May 2019. What a customer service

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mik_rosser @verbaliza That sort of makes no sense because it’s generally the gaining provider who would be at fault. So if you want to connect with Telco B for NBN it’s on Telco B. If Telco A (Optus) keep billing you that is different issue not necessarily connected to a new connection.

  • StepmeisterOz Snickers (@StepmeisterOz) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well after 15 years it’s see ya @Optus & hello @Telstra I can’t believe in 2019 Optus cannot provide a 4G service in Prahran & they don’t have any plans to upgrade that black spot either. It baffles me. Oh well, a complaint to the TIO means I pay nothing to leave. #ByeFelicia

  • GregRandall1 TheWeed (@GregRandall1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus Oh I feel your pain. I had to organise internet with a fixed IP address for my Mum’s home security cams. She kept cancelling her internet account because “I don’t use that rubbish” and setting up new, costly phone accounts that involved cancel fees. #dayslost

  • TheOnlyLongy Long Neck (@TheOnlyLongy) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@ktdenise @Optus No, Aussie Broadband and Mate are by far better and have a lot better customer service.

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Your customers service is ridiculous!! I spoken with your staff on phone to book in NBN services on 16 April 2019. End up with no show, I called to find out I been told my appointment not been finalised!! They rescheduled me on 29 May 2019.!!

  • SamShearer7 Sam Shearer (@SamShearer7) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jewitt12 @pieman_78 Agree, is worth any slight drop in coverage. Online chat has always sorted any issues reasonably quickly as well. Recommend the Fetch box to get Optus Sport on to your box at home, is like $10 extra a month.

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Turns out the fastest way to get service in a Telstra store is to walk in with an Optus bag in your hand

  • Nikkiwu8 mammashark23 (@Nikkiwu8) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus I am Optus customer and tried to book discounts HOYTS movie tickets. Website is not working

  • AGhostMachine 𝔾𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥𝕀𝕟𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕄𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕖 (@AGhostMachine) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Yup - bought some extra data and continued to use the Optus 4g to power my household. I will be sending the bill the way of Telstra if they ever try to resolved the issue :(

  • teddytranscends Teddy Transcendent (@teddytranscends) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Doing a name change with @Optus is possibly THE most humiliating of all name change experiences. I'm not a different person so please don't treat me as such.

  • Stephen02721621 Stephen (@Stephen02721621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus @HuaweiMobileAU Try connecting me a fkn phone line - 1 month no phone - you guys suck so bad

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@_Michelangelo__ @Optus Now see, I had TPG a while ago and hated it. Terrible connectivity, terrible customer service, tech didn't show up when I took the day off to be home for him, then wouldn't cancel my account. So, yeah. They all suck.

  • AdrianR92247303 Adrian Robinson (@AdrianR92247303) reported

@Optus Hey, still no update been six days of following up tech support at Optus sport tech support for a basic problem. Can we please fix this!!

  • Gjt95Trim gjt95 (@Gjt95Trim) reported

@favfavalore @kevthelip Gladys now has an over paid job with Optus as managing director of blahblahblah. I've cancelled all my Optus services because I refuse to pay a single cent to a company that would employ a person with such poor integrity.

  • chrismayer Chris Mayer (@chrismayer) reported

@Optus I don't need assistance, I need you to fix your broken site.

  • VickiValeBale1 Vicki Vale Bale 🍞 Mate (@VickiValeBale1) reported

    @EEnuph Optus are the worst

  • chendo chendo (@chendo) reported

In my rage against Telstra, I’m an idiot and set up the Optus eSIM on the old phone rather than the new phone… and @Optus also wants me to go into a bloody store to transfer the eSIM. What is the ******* point of an eSIM if I need to go to a physical store?

  • EEnuph EnoughsEnough ☢️💡 (@EEnuph) reported

@VickiValeBale1 That's for sure. I was originally with Virgin until they abandoned their mobile business. Even though they used the Optus network I never had any problems. The moment I was transferred to Optus the service was terrible.

  • nathwiltshire Nathan Wiltshire 🇺🇦🇦🇺 (@nathwiltshire) reported

Been customer of @Optus for years - had bad internet for 6+ months so want to cancel - stuff me around online chat for an hour & then tell me to call. I don't want to be sold stuff, I just want to cancel my account. Is it too much to ask? #optusfail

  • killa_ttv OG_KILLA (@killa_ttv) reported

@Optus Yoooooo fix ur trash routing.....Last week has been nothing but ping issues and un stable net...

  • joncodua Jonco Dua (@joncodua) reported

@GladysB Neither Optus or Telstra delivers adequate telephone service in our Outer Metropolitan Area. Yet they charge us the same as a serviceable Area. Both organisations are useless 😒

  • neil_borg Neil Borg (@neil_borg) reported

@Optus Thank you so much for planning major internet works that completely disrupt the service in the middle of school holidays. I also feel sorry for those people working from home & now their productivity is shot. Any reason the majority can’t be done at night to reduce the impact?
