@recneps51 @Optus @NSW_FairTrading I bpay to telstra also, I know they charge me for a paper bill, which I request but never receive, but I don’t know about the other bit. I’d never allow direct debit, especially Optus, I used to ring them every other month about issues.

@OeterB @Fozbyte That's what I did! I'm an optus customer so it's included in my plan.

@Optus Thanks Nard. What causes an outage that only affects webmail?

@Telstra Yep. Unfortunately I’m so disgusted with the way I’ve been treated as a customer will see me head to @optus Telstra high prices dont reflect the service you receive from staff when there is a problem. It’s disgraceful. By far the worst telco I have dealt with, ever.

@VictorDominello I doubt optus can inform everyone of the leak. Since some of the emails in the leaks are either invalid or optus own emails that can only be accessed if you were a customer. Not for the previous customers. Why not just follow suit like the other states? Free replacements

@PeterHooley12 @Optus @OptusSport How’s on top of that my internet has been in and out for 6 week. No change to my bill or anything other then a “sorry” for the outage.

@AmyRemeikis That's because they've leaked all their customer's records, everything they ever collected. They never removed old customer records. Optus are lying to us!

@TIFFINbitesized Same. But we signed up as Optus customers in probably 2010, a long time ago. Have changed both drivers license and passport in the meantime. I feel I am not as concerned. I usually show only drivers license and never passport for POI anyway.

Email from Optus suggests it has, and have since been told by phone: no, then yes by chat, and then no...? WTF. Sort it out @Optus Simple comms to each customer. Was your data involved Y/N. If yes, what fields. It's not rocket science people... #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach

@johnb78 @domknight @Optus Or even design a system where the government does the identity check through an online service and issues an "telco ID" number for the telcos to store instead.

@JDee992 I’ll be straight onto any class action if there’s trouble. Ridiculous situation. So busy making easy money they don’t even bother safeguarding our info. Typical of business in aus. And there’ll be no real consequences for Optus. Not surprised Gladys got a gig there.

@cindyn @Optus As far as I can tell only emails. Those providers who are MVNOs on the Optus network who wanted to confirm they were not impacted apparently txt customers to inform them however.
