@Telstra Yep. Unfortunately I’m so disgusted with the way I’ve been treated as a customer will see me head to @optus Telstra high prices dont reflect the service you receive from staff when there is a problem. It’s disgraceful. By far the worst telco I have dealt with, ever.

@KoparaFallsKid I received their email this afternoon. But I haven’t been with Optus for over 6 months as their service was lousy. So how current are any of their records?

Great so a massive telco gets hacked, data stolen and the government’s response is… give the telco’s customer data to third parties. Optus customers should mount a class action.

(cust_num) appears to be the Optus Customer Number, (account_num) appears to the Optus Account Number, and (sub_id) the Optus Subscription ID

@AustinDocherty @MoarToast @Optus Yep, I had a 4G broadband account for a bit before we got the NBN about 3 years ago, and that's the only Optus service I've ever had - not a current customer 🤬

So what happened? "[It's] still under investigation. However, this breach, like most, appears to come down to human error," an Optus insider told the ABC. They apparently opened up their customer identity database to other systems via API, then failed to secure it.

@dez_blanchfield @Optus one has nothing to do with the other. your duty to pay a bill for the service used is independent of your issue with the breach of privacy. it's like saying "I'm not paying my taxes, because the govt. mismanaged investments". there's a process you can follow...

I was last an @Optus customer over 10 years ago, yet I’ve been advised all my personal information has now been stolen in a major Optus cyber attack. How about all identifying personal information not be stored once you are no longer a customer? Why is it kept?

@Me1011Just @Optus @RunnerSA18 She and the lot of board of directors should be fired. I’m sure Singtel will be doing a big WTF at Optus right now.

@TheMaskedUnit @MoarToast @Optus Even worse, no longer a customer and they still have your name, address d.o.b. and driving license / passport numbers on file. Heads must roll.
