  • fatinpaisal Fatin Paisal (@fatinpaisal) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

I was trying to change my network provider and was trying to do so on a day before the cyberattack but my user experience to do it was pretty bad, and I opt to stay with Optus. Bad timing. Definitely will change to something else soon.

  • vijayarumugam Vijay Arumugam (@vijayarumugam) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@evilscootus @BigKev67 I'm aware of the poor cricket attendances in Perth from the early 1990s. When Tendulkar reached his 100 at the WACA in 1991-92, there was a tiny crowd. Optus isn't easy to access through public transport? That's a shame, for such a wonderful facility.

  • wheelyweb Joe Ortenzi 🇨🇦 🇮🇹 🇦🇺 (@wheelyweb) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Everyone is missing a critical item. Why do telcos need all that info when I can fire up an sms service without it. However. Optus is directly responsible for the data spill, regardless of if it was a hack or a breach. it’s their responsibility to manage security of that data.

  • jkalbrechtsen janet albrechtsen (@jkalbrechtsen) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Damn. Microwave has broken. I blame Optus hack.

  • miracleboi Alex Dennis🏳️‍🌈🇦🇺 (@miracleboi) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So wondering how many Optus customers are considering ditching the telco because of the data breach they incurred. Are you an existing Optus customer? Would you consider leaving them?

  • martyps MARTY 🏳️‍🌈 (@martyps) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus your app sucks and I’m not waiting on hold for an hour for someone on the phone to tell me I can check it on the app

  • immsollawyers (((Anne ODonoghue))) (@immsollawyers) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

“While Ms Bayer Rosmarin has claimed Optus was victim of a “sophisticated attack”, the government believes the data breach was more likely down to lax security measures at the telecoms giant.”

  • callejap Patricia (@callejap) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@RavenZech2 @Optus A friend of one who joined Optus 6 months ago has just told me that he’s received no emails from them. Nothing at all. Pretty bad form @Optus

  • ben_hr Ben Harris-Roxas (@ben_hr) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@engagedpractx @Optus This is gobsmacking. Unbelievable that the Commonwealth would do this without consulting the actual person affected. Well, actually it's quite believable, but it sucks.

  • just_brash Justin Brash 🏳️‍🌈🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇦🇺🍸📷🐱 (@just_brash) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Independent financial institutions have contacted me with their concerns about my data warning me if I’m an Optus customer I should take actions now. Yet Optus has made no contact whatsoever. Not good enough @Optus, I’m not making any payments until I hear from you. #Optushack

  • emelinemataia E 🌺 (@emelinemataia) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Is Optus down or something? Because my network is ‘SOS’ @Optus

  • JPMasters JPMasters (He/Him/They/Them) (@JPMasters) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@lesstenny @RNBreakfast I wasn’t listening this morning, but my thoughts are, rain - our infrastructure never considered there would be rain, mobile coverage infrastructure not keeping up with demand (I am 13km from Sydney GPO on a high point - hopeless with both Telstra and Optus), and NBN no doubt.

  • LuxeQAgency PR & MKTG AGENCY 🇦🇺 (@LuxeQAgency) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@FinancialReview Optus & companies like Optus, are not above the Law in Australia & our laws are real. It is very clear & obvious that due to the serious nature of events, which have been confirmed as having compromised the identities of many customers, 'The Privacy Act' has in fact, been broken.

  • JVizzone John Vizzone (@JVizzone) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Last year I had my identity stolen including drivers licence details changed, partially at the hands of Service NSW. Good luck Optus victims getting your licence changed. Even when they were part of the fraud I’m still waiting for my new licence.

  • Boatyboy1 Boatyboy (@Boatyboy1) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Eva_Lishus @Cindy1Miss @Optus Have a look at Amaysim. Uses Optus network, but much cheaper. Although it is 13x 28 day bills per year.

  • leebailey11 Lee Bailey (@leebailey11) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus my NBN has been showing a reduced service for almost 24 hours and is still listed as ‘under investigation’. Any chance someone will get the investigation done soon. With downloads of 3.14mbps and uploads at 0.44mbps I can’t do anything currently

  • trevorlong Trevor Long (@trevorlong) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

If you thought Optus had moved to a Customer focused approach with this whole data hack - think again. I’ve got details of what I think is the most disgraceful lack of attention to the VERY worst affected customer. Just need time to calm down and write it all down

  • martyps MARTY 🏳️‍🌈 (@martyps) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Mike8899889 @harryrd97 Optus is still **** though, even without the cyber attack.

  • morgen_craufurd Morgen Craufurd (@morgen_craufurd) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@CatPurry9 Optus lobbied ScroteO to water down their security requirements and he -of course-compiled-That’s where the rot originated-big ole surprise!!

  • Roucek . (@Roucek) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Just banished Optus to the Never Never. #OptusNo #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach

  • mk123syd mick259 (@mk123syd) reported

@2GB873 My contract with Optus expires in a month thankfully. I understand that these things happen and it’s not what happened that bothers me, it’s the piss poor way they aren’t dealing with it

  • RossFloate Ross Floate (@RossFloate) reported

One thing about the whole @Optus shitshow that makes me draw breath: knowing how terrible the Australian Government is at this stuff, can you IMAGINE if they’d implemented the Australia Card?

  • HarryTa34583063 Harry Taylor (@HarryTa34583063) reported

@9NewsAUS It's not Iran. As I said yesterday about Optus, it's your Globalist Cabal shutting down everything and getting ready for the great reset. You need to wake up.

  • Debs6522 Debs65 (@Debs6522) reported

@corruptagenda @Optus I never received an email despite being a customer for 30 years. Saw it on TV. went to my credit union after work. Bad show Optarse.

  • Anderso31583390 Anderson (@Anderso31583390) reported

@Eldostyles @Optus Send a message to HOSTEN_DEREK on Instagram he is legit and honest, he help me fix my account when it have same issue

  • NickDaTrickOz Nick (@NickDaTrickOz) reported

@byronkaye Seriously the Optus hacker just happened to be walking past the shed, saw the door was open and grabbed all the **** he could and ran. We ain’t talking 007 here.

  • PeterSc35924353 Peter Schroeder (@PeterSc35924353) reported

@ClareONeilMP IDCARE do not do what they say on their website, they just send you an email, 5 pages long. Very disappointing service, why does the government fund this joke of an entity ? IDCARE tell you that Optus is not a subscriber of IDCARE??

  • Kimmylea4 Kimmylea (@Kimmylea4) reported

@bluyonda @nameshiv My mum cancelled Optus ages ago because of stuff around during broadband rollout, but they were really bad about just closing the account, so she still gets weird not-bills. She got the email about details release, so I suspect it might include ex-customers too.

  • humma49 Humma49 Mate (@humma49) reported

@blue01dragonfly Probably done on purpose! They believe this could be the end of optus. 🤔 they'll shut them down. And it'll be another provider soon. They all lease the lines from Telstra. So I'd be looking at them first! It makes sense to have ONE provider for the credit digital system!!

  • MarijaAUS Frankie Antispe (@MarijaAUS) reported

What people aren't really talking about is the emotional toll & stress this taking on those impacted esp those of us who simply don't know what to do & aren't very tech savvy. I've never felt so exposed & vulnerable and I'm not coping mentally #optus #optushack #OptusClassAction
