  • LuxeQAgency PR & MKTG AGENCY 🇦🇺 (@LuxeQAgency) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@FinancialReview Optus & companies like Optus, are not above the Law in Australia & our laws are real. It is very clear & obvious that due to the serious nature of events, which have been confirmed as having compromised the identities of many customers, 'The Privacy Act' has in fact, been broken.

  • just_brash Justin Brash 🏳️‍🌈🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇦🇺🍸📷🐱 (@just_brash) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Tim_Fiddes I’m on the very leaky Optus network.

  • callejap Patricia (@callejap) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@RavenZech2 @Optus A friend of one who joined Optus 6 months ago has just told me that he’s received no emails from them. Nothing at all. Pretty bad form @Optus

  • NigelHighley Nigel Highley (@NigelHighley) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@AlboMP Hows the reversal of the anti syphoning of the EPL coming along? Shouldn't have to be an optus mobile customer to gain access

  • JVizzone John Vizzone (@JVizzone) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Wonder how the Optus customers are going? More than 18 months after some pirate called Service NSW and illegally obtained and changed my licence details to then access various institutions I deal with to steal from me, today Service NSW finally issued me a new licence number.

  • IanFriedrich Ian (@IanFriedrich) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Summarizes the real conservation. Me: I want to cancel my plan. Optus: Why. Me: My data has been leaked. Optus: I can give u some discount. Me: No thanks. Optus: I checked your account, apparently your data has not been leaked. Me: Explain why I received the alert emails from u.

  • 50to39 Donna Longhurst (@50to39) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

The latest Optus ad deals with their cyber attack. Fair enough. My problem is they use the term 'learnings'. A word that doesn't exist in the English language. Lessons is the correct term, or 'what we have learnt'. If they can't get something that simple right, I wonder....

  • emelinemataia E 🌺 (@emelinemataia) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Is Optus down or something? Because my network is ‘SOS’ @Optus

  • vijayarumugam Vijay Arumugam (@vijayarumugam) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@evilscootus @BigKev67 I'm aware of the poor cricket attendances in Perth from the early 1990s. When Tendulkar reached his 100 at the WACA in 1991-92, there was a tiny crowd. Optus isn't easy to access through public transport? That's a shame, for such a wonderful facility.

  • JPMasters JPMasters (He/Him/They/Them) (@JPMasters) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@lesstenny @RNBreakfast I wasn’t listening this morning, but my thoughts are, rain - our infrastructure never considered there would be rain, mobile coverage infrastructure not keeping up with demand (I am 13km from Sydney GPO on a high point - hopeless with both Telstra and Optus), and NBN no doubt.

  • OzToby Toby (@OzToby) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus the living network. What a load of ****. More like the network on life support. It is not normal to receive bullshit texts saying great news we're improving the network when you send those texts every 2 weeks.

  • TabLordKP KP (@TabLordKP) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Is anyone else having issues with the Optus Sport stream this morning

  • _marty_k Marty K (@_marty_k) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@developerjack You gotta wonder if there’s been a bank hack that hasn’t hit the news yet… & they’re trying to get ahead of it instead of the poor response a-la-Optus & Medibank

  • ben_hr Ben Harris-Roxas (@ben_hr) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@engagedpractx @Optus This is gobsmacking. Unbelievable that the Commonwealth would do this without consulting the actual person affected. Well, actually it's quite believable, but it sucks.

  • leebailey11 Lee Bailey (@leebailey11) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus my NBN has been showing a reduced service for almost 24 hours and is still listed as ‘under investigation’. Any chance someone will get the investigation done soon. With downloads of 3.14mbps and uploads at 0.44mbps I can’t do anything currently

  • ProbalC Probal Chakravorty (@ProbalC) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Almost 20 days @TPG_Telecom could not deliver a modem..confusion,promises, no update, silence and frustration. Absolutely customer unfriendly organisation with fake processes being in place.. shall I go to @Optus or @Telstra now..who can help me?

  • martyps MARTY 🏳️‍🌈 (@martyps) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Mike8899889 @harryrd97 Optus is still **** though, even without the cyber attack.

  • Roucek . (@Roucek) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Just banished Optus to the Never Never. #OptusNo #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach

  • BradJCurtis2 Brad Curtis🇦🇺🇩🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺🇦🇺 (@BradJCurtis2) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Why ******** is Optus Sport not allowing me to watch anything saying: need to be Optus Sport Premium Subscriber? Only just started now. So the $25 per month isn't the premium

  • martyps MARTY 🏳️‍🌈 (@martyps) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus your app sucks and I’m not waiting on hold for an hour for someone on the phone to tell me I can check it on the app

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • ExC__Gale Gale 😷 (@ExC__Gale) reported

    @kazza264 @bridgerollo When I was a customer with Optus back around 2010 I couldn't get a signal inside my own house...in Northcote. 🙄

  • ArnoldRimmer1 ArnoldJ (@ArnoldRimmer1) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I spoke to someone via chat to change the data plan . They said that due to a "systems issue " I had to physically go into an optus branch

  • pitter_patter85 Not My Forte (@pitter_patter85) reported

@RonniSalt @Optus It should all be part of a breach response/management plan that gets that gets practiced and role-plays, much like a fire drill. Part of the problem is that there's an attitude of 'it won't happen to us'. A GDPR-like policy with huge fines would go a long way to helping that

  • chookstweet Christine Brooks (@chookstweet) reported

@mark_r_asser Our Optus email problems at work are so ridiculous I can barely understand them, let alone explain them. All I know is that this year, my boss has been a) on the phone to them b) on hold or c) waiting for a return call that never comes.

  • VenessaM_Au Venessa Miler 💉💉💉 (@VenessaM_Au) reported

@Russputin2 The woman who saved Optus (but not from the interminable damage brought on from an avoidable data leak brought about by lax privacy laws coupled with govt mandated meta data retention...)

  • Kimota Jonathan Crossfield (@Kimota) reported

@Leighlo @alexkidman @Optus This is more about me dreading having to help my father-in-law - who struggles with paying the gas bill, never mind this - through protecting himself and updating things. No email yet, but if he gets one, I’ll be billing Optus for the week of horror that ensues! 😬

  • merradeth MerrydeathJamrag (@merradeth) reported

@longhairlout @Optus use your profits for good and fix this, your customers need vital phone access, and we also need our data secured 😱

  • NoLongerVerbose 🎆Another Smith🎆 (@NoLongerVerbose) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews Further? I only just got an email today. I understand why they send the emails out in tranches (I haven't been a customer for years) but my god, the comms have been poorly managed. Could Optus be handling this better? In the words of their own branding - Yes.

  • GoddessSpanna Goddess Spanna 🔧 (@GoddessSpanna) reported

About to call Optus and I'll go all Karen demanding free **** cause of breach of privacy... Need to channel my real inner woggy *** as there's something about how the oldies did **** to get free **** lol

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@OriginalDanMad Hi Daniel, if your driver licence number and card number have been compromised, Optus will contact you in coming days and you are strongly advised to apply for a replacement licence ASAP. For support with identity document replacement, please call ID Support NSW on 1800 001 040.
