  • LapTop006 Julien Goodwin (@LapTop006) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well that sucked, after replacing all the cable all the way to the splitter the tester showed great signal, but NBN didn't like it.

  • timewaster2000 Mark Gambino 🗿 (@timewaster2000) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

It pays to shop around for @NBN_Australia products, even if you’re on contract. I may pay a cancellation fee to sever my @Optus ADSL service, but the zero install fee and lower monthly cost of another company will see me ~$50 better off over 24 months, plus enjoy faster speeds.

  • JayBallzup Jay Ball (@JayBallzup) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

This Google Stadia thing looks cool. Probably won’t be great in Australia until 5G is here. That said, they recon they only need min 15mb down; max 40ms latency and max 5% packet loss. Many NBN connections smash that. But if it’s widely adopted, congestion will cause issues.

  • emmaknicholls emma nicholls (@emmaknicholls) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Telstra is THE worst when it comes to internet. Even when you’re on one of the best NBN plans going around

  • tiges_rule Susan Luber (@tiges_rule) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus And I have spoken to nbnco themselves and they have confirmed that you are flat out lying to me. The times available depend on the provider NOT the nbn. Further proving how bad the customer service at Optus has been.

  • matty_lara027 Matty Lara (@matty_lara027) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

First time @NBN_Australia tech comes out on site. Takes on look at the box and goes, "nah can't be done. Sorry mate." Comon NBN. Why does it take this long to connect someone to your network #failedappoitment #justwantinternet

  • matty_lara027 Matty Lara (@matty_lara027) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Fourth Appointment with @NBN_Australia, First time tech comes out on site. Takes one look at the box and goes, "nah can't be done. Sorry mate." Comon NBN. Why does it take this long to connect someone to your network. #failedappoitment #justwantinternet

  • BelievaBill Bill Birch (@BelievaBill) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@siangard @SenatorDoug @fionaparker1 The NBN was the perfect vehicle to support decentralization....

  • tiges_rule Susan Luber (@tiges_rule) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus has the worst customer service ever. I tried to organise nbn through their online chat and they flat out lied to me in order to get my business.

  • DikeosJohn John Dikeos (@DikeosJohn) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@TheTechDudeAU @Telstra_news @Telstra Clearly I’m being sarcastic giving them shit about their horrible service which nobody should be paying for. Got connected to nbn last week and it’s been down the past 2 days. Before this issue when we connected with them 2 years ago we were paying for 3 months and had no interne

  • CountKnuckles Gavin (@CountKnuckles) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Holy crap now that I have NBN I also have @DougDeMuro in beautiful 4K.

  • yeppoon Beaver Murray (@yeppoon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@RachelBkr That's so slow its embarrassing. We're on NBN and it's frequently like that, so bad in fact I got a refund from TPG because the advertised speeds were like watching a glacier move.

  • G1NCHY g1nchy 🌏 (@G1NCHY) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jendudley You forgot to @Telstra and @NBN_Australia. I don't feel so bad now, at least @optus replied to my tweets.

  • davidjsinclair David Sinclair (@davidjsinclair) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Dear @Telstra and @NBN_Australia you service is really crap. Installed a new wifi router today, at my own cost and streaming sucks just like before with a Telstra wifi router. 3rd Internet, 1st world country. Give me my taxes back. You are pathetic.

  • TonyB_Melb TonyB (@TonyB_Melb) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Kynes3 Yep...ran it lots of times, always the same. Just now it's showing: NBN 11.32/0.92 ADSL 8.65/0.86 It sucks.

  • ashemah Ashemah (@ashemah) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@ReidParker_ Sadly my cable speed is down a bit since NBN turned on in my street.......................

  • Serby2010 Hutchy (@Serby2010) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Nartster #NBNTreason Talking about dropouts. One day couple of weeks ago we had over 200 dropouts. I refused to pay our bill because we have not had service. I am pretty sure all providers have troubles with NBN.

  • jiawhoo cheah (@jiawhoo) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus hello 👋 why is it so hard to reach optus, called twice with no return calls:( I received my nbn & router yesterday morning but the nbn has been blinking the whole day. Need help!

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • jbthinking John Ball (@jbthinking) reported

The process was to order the replacement service at the house for settlement date. I was not allowed to order 6-months in advance. So I ordered 3 weeks in advance. There are 2 existing NBN services there, and when ordering from Telstra, although it took 2.5 hours to complete 1/2

  • jbthinking John Ball (@jbthinking) reported

The charge would never be payable as it was for additional infrastructure. The owners have since moved out, and there are 2 unused nbn services. The question is why the service cannot be turned back on for me, tomorrow, as agreed 3 weeks ago?

  • AdeleKThomas Adele K Thomas 🦄 💉💉 (@AdeleKThomas) reported

@Qldaah I do really hope they consider home quarantine for double vax peeps though. I really need to leave Vic to get to Qld, and can't come via air or hotel quarantine. Dog, car I can't afford to leave behind, job that needs continuous broadband/NBN for large file uploads...stupid NSW.

  • joshjbarnett Josh Barnett (@joshjbarnett) reported

@NBN_Australia I already tried that for the previous 4 outages in 17 working days, but with little luck. @Aussie_BB doesn't have access to historic outages apparently, so couldn't tell me much, apart from "network element...requires repair", hence the walk to the pit for the latest outage🚶

  • beourmate MATE (@beourmate) reported

@adammalone @khingy @NBN_Australia Hi Adam, We certainly understand how frustrating this process is for you as a customer. We can assure you if we could, we would just send a new NCD out - unfortunately, nbn doesn't allow us to do this - we need to log a fault & an nbn technician will replace the device.

  • MeckeringBoy 💧Michael Dowling - 2x AZ💉💉Be the change!🌏❤️ (@MeckeringBoy) reported

USA has lots of crazies but they’re not alone. Morrison Abbott et al would never have been able to come to power if not for Murdoch media support propagandising endlessly for them, undermining Labor, running misinformation campaigns on climate change, carbon tax, pink batts, nbn.

  • Scott17492432 Scott (@Scott17492432) reported

@jriewolod @Telstra The experience get Telstra to connect NBN to my elderly mothers premises was nothing short of appalling. It literally took months of broken promises and technician appointments that failed to turn up. Telstra is a disgrace that prioritises profits over people

  • PolettiSteven Steven (@PolettiSteven) reported

@kellysaysthat Dead set. My NBN hasn't worked properly since this current lockdown started. Anytime I want to stream stuff that isn't YouTube it constantly pauses or just switches between HD and SD. I know it's first world problems, but trying to watch football in SD is a nightmare

  • adammalone Adam Malone (@adammalone) reported

@khingy @NBN_Australia @beourmate It’s such a weird system. Getting this installed was a nightmare too - dealt with three parties there: ISP, NBN, 3rd party installer. All different companies, no comms between them, and me coordinating messages between. What the actual ****?

  • adammalone Adam Malone (@adammalone) reported

@khingy @NBN_Australia @beourmate Then guaranteed 4-6 week backlog on new boxes. No compensation or immediate remediation because I don’t deal directly with NBN and ISP can say it’s not their problem. Perfect finger pointing nightmare for end user. Times like these make me want to go all in on a 4G dongle.
