@GeorgeBludger @guytaur Reminds me of the Coles ad. Down down we are going down down & further down. NBN the LNP success story. Bit like their economics credibility

@Aussie_BB @DanGayfer @NBN_Australia Good on ya. But I bet you tell people to speak to their phone provider on faults. And that’s the start of the run around. You only provide the service & equipment to access. Not the medium where the faults are.

@eLFB57 @AusIndiMedia Yep Telstra upgrading network with optic fibre. LNP/Labor, must stop this! Bring in the Yanks, privatise, create NBN. Telstra stops & gives up. Those that have fibre lucky. The rest of us, too bad, pay for substandard crap! Don’t you just love privatisation.

@OffBeatMammal @markhumphries Our NBN connection was so bad that we went back to broadband. Home broadband working much better. Sad but true. That might be an option rather than expensive NBN connection fee.

@markhumphries Why should the landlord pay for connection of a hitherto unconnected service to the property? You should have noted before hand there was no NBN. No different than you connecting Foxtel cables putting new curtains up.

@SteveJohnsonCAD @rc1628 @markhumphries Indeed they do. They pay for the service to the dwelling. The tenant gets it switched on. NBN should be the same.

@secomb_michael Agreed. He was also, when it mattered, very soft and liable to bend to the will of others. The most public example: NBN, but there were a stream of issues where the mob held sway over its "leader". A disappointment.

@markhumphries That sucks. 🤨 I would have thought the owner/builder would of added the nbn connection as part of the build.

@Daisy1158 @markhumphries @Matlock47825386 This issue refers to the one-off physical NBN connection to the house. Once connected, then the owner and subsequent renters get to use it...why should a single renter pay for the connection?

@Real_Don_Easter @markhumphries Hotspot is your friend, bugger off outdated, slow, expensive NBN.

@charleyb2355 @markhumphries Not the case. We moved into a new rental property in Vic and faced the same situation. I pursued it out of principle, but it turns out the tenant is responsible. Apparently NBN is not an essential service, even though it replaces land line phones, which is.
