ᴊᴜѕᴛɪɴ (@_Just) reported from Perth, Western Australia@shibz_1989 @DeadlineDavis @LachlanLachlang @McTez I’m on the NBN 100 and get 93 down and 35 up consistently.
-
Russell Keith-Magee (@freakboy3742) reported from Perth, Western AustraliaI’d also like to thank the @iiNet support staff out of whom I had to drag every last detail about how the @NBN_Australia fault investigation process would proceed.
-
Andrew Henry | yojhi.eth (@andrewmhenry22) reported from Perth, Western Australia@iiNet hi, our nbn is down. Is there an issue?
-
Brenton Hewitt (@hewball) reported from Perth, Western Australia@decryption i dont have my gpon gear powered on to show you data from the network side, but if any of that isnt correct, nbn could just turn off the port
-
Russell Keith-Magee (@freakboy3742) reported from Perth, Western Australia@NBN_Australia Let’s be clear - my provider @iinet knows nothing about what is going on. The fact that there was a service technician at my house was a complete surprise to them. And the technician disconnected me *before* letting me know. Glad I wasn’t doing anything important.
-
ᴊᴜѕᴛɪɴ (@_Just) reported from Perth, Western Australia@reece_wagner I’m getting 16 down with ADSL. @NBN_Australia was due here in Feb. It was changed to August 2020. Now back to May 2019.
-
Russell Keith-Magee (@freakboy3742) reported from Perth, Western AustraliaI’d like to thank the @NBN_Australia service personnel who decided to “test” my connection, breaking it in the process, and who didn’t think to inform me he was here until *after* he’d started work. Thanks to him, my previously functioning internet connection now isn’t working.

-
ronnymouse (@ronnymouse7) reported@eevblog this is why we have a fixed wireless connection as a backup, the NBN backbones they're connected to rarely go down
-
MR Reilly (@mrr78504) reported@econoadabsurdam @LeeRespecter The NBN might plausibly have increased productivity if it had retained its original scope (A FTTN fibre backbone network independent of Telstra that would allow telecommunication companies to compete on an equal footing). Instead it got rolled out first in Tasmania.
-
JustMate (@Ruslan11431897) reported@AvidCommentator Starlink is much cheaper…personally I never had NBN and can’t understand why average home user prefers NBN over starlink right now…
-
Scarab (@ScarabOfficial) reported@THATS_RIGHT_YA @robb_j_m That download ping is faulty. Should be more like 20. Could be your computer, NIC, browser, or modem/router (and its settings). If you are with TPG you can log into your account and do an NBN test, which will check the line, and they'll contact you if there's a problem.

Berry Straw 🍓 (@ddnnddc) reportedACMA is NOT currently running a spectrum auction for LEO satellite broadband. In December 2025, ACMA decided against auctioning a large amount of expiring spectrum. Instead, they chose to renew the licenses held by mobile operators and NBN. Their reasoning was that auctions could disrupt existing services and slow down new technologies like low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. Amazon's Project Kuiper is coming to Australia in mid-2026 through a major partnership with NBN Co. This will give Starlink its first real competition in the country, especially in regional and remote areas. This is generally good news for consumers because more competition usually means better prices and redundancy.
-
My handle was funnier when it was less believable. (@AIproject6) reported@wilburston @robb_j_m I highly doubt any satellite service is better than NBN unless you're literally not in the coverage area.
-
Peter Strachan (@Peter_Strachan) reported@NBN_Australia, I have had no NBN service since the 11th of April in Cottesloe, WA. The date for reconnection keeps moving out. Do you have any serious information on when it will return and what is the problem?
-
Milan 🇦🇺🇷🇸 (@inter_miki) reported@designerontheru @AvidCommentator That's because the prices for 500 is the same as 100 which is a big problem because the ISP makes hardly nothing from your $95 to begin with. Maybe $5 as they take all the risk and NBN makes all the money
-
xjet (@xjet) reported@eevblog @Hobbie4C Perhaps there's been a huge surge in demand for bandwidth from those cellsites since the NBN outage? Everyone has the same idea as you and bandwidth is finite. The more concurrent users, the lower the throughput.
-
Susan (@puxiesmt) reported@jeff32567916 @australian He recognised that NBN via wifi (using mobile phone network) is a bad idea, when the mobile phone towers back up battery's go flat (couple if hours) we have no communication at all, we should all still have wired communication but we don't so it's very easy to switch it all off
