@Telstra what a shite company. Cancelled a non contract modem 4 years ago. Kept charging me without me knowing as I thought it was cancelled. Not one bill or email. Now trying to get a loan and a default has appeared. But they can’t help me. Sending back and forth.

  • rikellebrown
Rikelle Brown (@rikellebrown) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Telstra No customer service. Near impossible to contact. I have tried now on multiple occasions to cancel our home line as we moved. I've eventually spoke to someone who assured me it was finally sorted. Only 2 get ANOTHER bill for the home line. Pathetic!

  • megitsh
Megan Gitsham (@megitsh) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Telstra @Telstra_news Internet outage SPEERS POINT NSW. How do we go about seeking information about it as a community?

  • adlrope
Adam Rope (reality is stranger than fiction) (@adlrope) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Qldaah @Telstra David, if have nbn connection then Telstra only service provider. nbn co own & maintain network. Telstra technical support can investigate but if underlying issue is network, nbn co responsible. If nbn co state 'no fault found', then service provider no power coerce nbn action

  • rikellebrown
Rikelle Brown (@rikellebrown) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Telstra I'm absolutely at my wits end. I have contacted Telstra back in December to cancel my home phone as we have moved and STILL I'm being billed for it. No way 2 cancel!! It's disgraceful & a scam! I want this sorted out! I will not sit on another 1.5 hour call to sort it.

  • mediahunter
Craig Wilson (@mediahunter) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

@Simonvw Just visited different Telstra store. Excellent customer service. Chalk and cheese. I learnt that one is a franchise the other is a company owned store. Explains everything.

  • JustinJMilligan
Justin Milligan (@JustinJMilligan) reported from Newcastle, New South Wales

Hey @Telstra Wondering if you can help? My parents have lost internet connection. I'm trying to see if it's an "old people" issue or Telstra is down. Do you have any issues with Fassifern, NSW, 2283 at the moment?

  • digitaldocs

Telstra Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Slav636
    Svyatoslav Pidgorny 🇺🇦🇦🇺 (@Slav636) reported

@rpotter_9 Telstra time server downed part of Telstra network, but I can’t readily think of anything that will down all three. Except maybe the GPS.

  • BrentHodgson
    Brent Hodgson (@BrentHodgson) reported

@geofiasco @DHughesy @aaronsmith Aside: Whether the Telstra sale was ultimately a windfall is contested. It raised $60bn to sell the assets, then we spent $60bn on NBN Co just to regain access to the assets sold and duplicate/upgrade the network we sold - and Telstra has paid something like $80-85bn in shareholder dividends along the way. In many respects, NBN shouldn't exist. It should have been the $80-85bn in "shareholder dividends" to the Public Owner that paid for the fibres to be laid - not a $60bn investment after a $60bn sale. But NBN was forced to be created after a now-shareholder-owned Telstra responded to how it might build a national broadband network with a non-compliant 12 page letter effectively saying "we won't - the copper wires are our privately-owned monopoly and we want to protect our market monopoly".

  • Itsahoax123
    It's A Hoax 🇦🇺 (@Itsahoax123) reported

@KataKez Telstra can already spam everyone connected to cell tower without this ****. Think about the times when you have travelled somewhere and you get that text saying something like they are “doing work on this network over the next 5 days”

  • jaxsunsurf
    Jacqui 🇦🇺🌴🌺🌴🌸 (@jaxsunsurf) reported

@Gizmologist_ Funny how telco’s never had this problem before wouldn’t surprise me if Telstra orchestrated Optus outage to knock them out of the market like Qantas did to Rex blocking airports We’ve had polair lately at night doing thermal mapping of the area fly round almost 2hrs each time

  • IanLinklater5
    Ian Linklater (@IanLinklater5) reported

@Telstra Reinstate my mobile phone service please . I have a business to run if that actually matters .

  • manukoreri
manukoreri (Nick Chesterfield) 🇵🇸❤️🖤💛🇵🇸 (@manukoreri) reported

Slow clap @Telstra with your #AusAlert @nemagovau Standing within eyesight of a tower and it took 6 min 55 to come through after everyone nearby on other networks got it. 7 minutes of delay means this is not fit for purpose. Your incompetence is proof this isn't a conspiracy.

  • Blindsidedly
    Blindsided (@Blindsidedly) reported

@MsMountebank Time to decimate overly generous executive pay. Again with #Origin, #Telstra, a known 'cheap' fix, with the impacts borne by customers. If they can't do their jobs don't pay them. Prices for both sectors ratcheted up regularly, even now during a cost of living crisis #auspol

  • joshatticus
    Josh (@joshatticus) reported

@mar790032894313 @JoshButler The government is stupid and didn't force the carriers to push the carrier bundles to older iPhones, so the ********* at Vodafail, Floptus and Telstra only pushed it to iOS 26.4 and later! Android devices got it fine though

  • YBartolovic
    Yvonne (@YBartolovic) reported

Yes it’s disgraceful just as bad as @Telstra and everyone else telling us to stay say and get jibbed we had to see it daily on the phones I had my phone off so go nothing ! There lol

  • itsrayfinkle
    Ray Finkle (@itsrayfinkle) reported

AusAlert cost ~$130 million to rollout. A 13x increase from the $10m initial budget. Here are the known costs and estimates: $10m Initial Planning Taskforce $60-70m Carrier access tolls (Telstra, Optus, TPG) $30m Security architecture & hardening $20-25m Foreign hardware + offshore managed services $5-10m Public awareness, testing & administration Want to know how each allocation is spent? Too bad. Contractors and government use "Commercial-in-Confidence" clauses to keep specific commercial margins and costs hidden from the public eye. A 1300% blowout with no accountability.
