Rakeau (@rakeau) reported@alexjohnward @ianclarkeAU Separate discussion. The comment targeted NBN specifically. It’s wrong to say that NBN = Bad. It’s not that simple.

Michael🧙 (@mich___l) reported@VoteLewko @2GB873 Starlink is great if you're mobile, but you never want to use it to replace the nbn residential connections. The speeds and latency you get from a fttn/fttp connection are leagues better.
-
Con! (@c0n_AU) reported@BeauGiles Typically, no. For the cost of a backup device/SIM/NBN or even Starlink, it would pay for itself in an hour of an outage like this!
-
John Murdoch (@jscmurdo) reported@ausnuc_ian It was a Press release waiting for a business case that never eventuated. That's how the LNP operated. Don't get me started on the NBN catostrophe. Another example of the great economic managers.

Scarab (@ScarabOfficial) reportedI woke up to find my Internet is down. I'm typing this via an unusably slow emergency backup mobile access function. I hope my fibre connectivity comes back up soon. The problem is with either my ISP(RSP), or the #NBN, more likely the former.

WhatYouThinkIThink 🇦🇺♥️🇺🇦 🔴🟡⚫️ 🇮🇱🇵🇸 (@WhatYouThinkIT1) reported@ianclarkeAU Now explain how Starlink is going to remove the latency of the speed of light to/from LEO and then transmission from ground stations compared to fibre? Max bandwidth Starlink: 310/44mbps (down/up). NBN FTTP: 2Gbps/500Mbps. Wireless/Wifi/Satellite will always be slower.

peter rowe (@Prowerock1) reported@Martywa467 @VoteLewko @Starlink NBN faults are dealt with via the telcos. After four cancelled appointments by NBN after Telstra said it was an NBN issue ( it was), I bought a Telstra 5G router and threw out the NBN box. I would prefer Starlink but it has a congestion charge in our area of $700.

Abul Rizvi (@RizviAbul) reported@michaeljames947 Telstra is an 800lb gorilla. It was never going to be possible to keep them behaving properly. That was the case from day 1 when the govt & Telstra were at legal loggerheads. Then they took govt to the cleaners over the NBN saga.

Spider Mother Gwen (@GwenMotherS) reportedlines we are tunning in the nbn these days AUSTRALIA SUCKS FOR INTERNET this has taken a big toll on my mental as i am now stressed out about debut having issues and ruining my hard work that i am trying to put into it sorry late message

TomOyn 🚉🏗️ (@AussieWirraway) reportedOrdered a new fibre connection on Sunday, a tech came and installed FTTP on Wednesday, and it cost $0. NBN gets a lot of flack but it's very hard to complain about this level of service!
