Not even the local library could open Qld Govt website. If Cessnock is bad, Outback communities are medieval. Cessnock? Election priority? Hunter seat?

I have an exposed NBN cable in my yard, intermittent phone, and they say and I’ve reported it through my service provider. Get an email saying service provider hasn’t put in an “incident” and they’ve closed case.

I don’t think there’s been a day since Christmas that we’ve had a full day without network outage and connection dropping to the level where the internet just can’t be used. But certainly during the operational life of #nbn I can't see #fibretopremises being beaten by anything else. We're currently on HFC (High Frequency Coaxial) & destined for HFC (Hybrid Fibre Coaxial) but delaying as long as possible because of reliability.

Of all the idiotic decisions @TurnbullMalcom took, screwing up the deployment of Australia’s internet was one of the biggest. Truly awful

If you are on an FTTN network the homeowner has the "choice" to fork out money for the property to be upgraded to FTTP. If you are on the Coax/HFC network you are **** out of luck as the best NBN can do is try increase line bandwidth

My parents paid $120 for 7Mbs a decade ago until NBN finally gave them FTTN. Price per speed on the higher end has absolutely come down in price compared to the pre-NBN duopoly.

xjet (@xjet) reported@eevblog @Hobbie4C Perhaps there's been a huge surge in demand for bandwidth from those cellsites since the NBN outage? Everyone has the same idea as you and bandwidth is finite. The more concurrent users, the lower the throughput.

Aus throttle (@austhrottle) reportedI usually hate most government spending, but sometimes they get things right. The inland rail was a good project. Cancelling the inland rail is a terrible decision. It is just as important as the NBN, and in this case there isn’t a foreseeable technology that will replace it in 10 years time. Rail is insanely energy and labor efficient compared to trucks. Trucks should only be used for end of journey in a well optimised system.
