  • RuaBrithem
Rua Uilliam (💉💉💉 Pagan Prole Sewer Rat) (@RuaBrithem) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@NBN_Australia Service is back up and working but just interested if this kind of damage will affect it in the future but I can’t seem to get a response from @NBN_Australia at all other than to reject any request my provider makes. That is not “as soon as possible”.

  • unixbigot
Christopher Biggs (@unixbigot) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

I have been seeing your “My shitty NBN is down” tweets all week and thinking “Heh, mine’s never missed a beat.”. Update: My shitty NBN is down.

  • wildnez

@Telstra Like your team has done with my new NBN order which never arrived along with your technician after 3 appointments.. and your pathetically incapable non-existential customer svc.. only implies that Telstra has lost interest in selling new business.

I am no fan of the NBN but the further investment of $3.5 billion defies logic. 5G is coming with very quick download speeds and cable infrastructure. It’s pouring good money after bad. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

  • JestaCat
Paul M (@JestaCat) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@Netflixhelps @92_saif @NetflixANZ And ... Definitely NOT using a VPN or proxy, and have not changed any settings anywhere between NBN and couch since last night. Help!

@MrKRudd Imagine how much good could of been done with 40 billion write down from the NBN you sold us. Lot of hospitals, schools and work opportunities for first nations there. Still got the napkins?

  • lukeacl
Luke™ (@lukeacl) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Both home and work internet collapsed this morning at 2am for some reason, weird NBN outage. But because I’m with @Aussie_BB I could easily diagnose connection states, NTD statuses, and perform a port reset on both 1600km away to get them working again without getting out of bed.

  • Protenpinner
Clifford Stewart (@Protenpinner) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Honest to god NBN in Australia is piss poor for gaming. I shouldn't have to wait till it's midnight and off peak to get a decent connection without my game glitching to bits. Absolute ******* joke. #FIFA23

  • notsomadboy
notsomadboy (@notsomadboy) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@SC21012022 My NBN is fine. It's the work network that's dropping

Just Bullshit Malcolm, and you know it. You demean yourself trying to justify the total shit/fight NBN you created under the orders of the Mad Monk. You appear to have been enthusiastic in doing so. You will wear this like a wreath while you remain in this Forum.

  • Graeme_Orr
Graeme Orr (@Graeme_Orr) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@Jondoenotmyname Australia Post is a money earner for Commonwealth government (ie not on a ****...) As for NBN well, ours is down for 3 days now and TPG etc just take the money so not sure who to blame more!

  • etredoo
D (@etredoo) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@Telstra have been trying to speak to a human for over a month to get NBN installed and wow 1000 messages “like texting a friend” what a joke! 1 month of circles! This is the worst customer service experience EVER!! #whereismynbn

  • Channakt
    🇭🇲 Channa K 🇮🇳 (@Channakt) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

NBN has reached my area, which means I am going to have a crappier internet connection, for the past year it's actually been good. But NBN in Australia sucks, especially for a gamer.

  • etredoo
D (@etredoo) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@optus HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU for being the provider that got our NBN installed in less than a week!! No text messages back and forth for 6 weeks just damn amazing service! @Telstra 6 weeks of bullshit text messages vs 1 week and NBN installed #yesoptus

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • diss_presso
    Max (@diss_presso) reported

@BrowntownBrew @robb_j_m In some cases. They would pay Telstra to use the pits, or Telstra itself would install fibre. This is an issue all over the world. We’re simply trading one monopoly (Telstra) for another (NBN). But there’s nothing to stop another company in theory from running their own fibre in dense areas - but not now of course, as they wouldn’t be allowed to undercut the NBN (hence the stupid NBN has actually made it so internet cannot be cheaper than how much they say it should be - law of unintended consequences - now the law is literally making cheap internet illegal).

  • CatManSturty
    Stuart the Catman (@CatManSturty) reported

@algorithmsayshi Seems to be a common issue with the NBA league pass and NBN providers sadly.

  • TonyMemandqvy
    Tony Meman (@TonyMemandqvy) reported

@cjoye Sell the NBN? Yeah because when we sold the electricity network, that worked out well for prices. Bringing CGT in line with tax on wages is going to be one of the fairest tax decisions made. Nothing will change otherwise businesses would have left for a tax haven already.

  • thelostleonardo
    Salvator Mundi (@thelostleonardo) reported

@EnergyWrapAU NBN generates revenue and pays down its costs over time. How can you compare that to NDIS which is a huge ongoing cesspool of fraud and waste.

  • HJoyOz
    JoyOz (@HJoyOz) reported

@Ben_Davison1 I paid for my own education and the government never sent me a fully trained employee. The rule of law…. Yes men are women in law. Roads, Rails, NBN (massive cost) gas water bla bla - we pay for that… it didn’t magically appear without our tax funds, we also pay continue to pay for this and budget blowouts. Civil society - do you live in Melbourne?

  • Justme136160
    Just me (@Justme136160) reported

@robb_j_m Never used NBN. Use a much cheaper wifi plan.

  • Prowerock1
    peter rowe (@Prowerock1) reported

@AvidCommentator I have abandoned NBN. Service is atrocious as it is mediated through the Telcos. You can’t get to an NBN tech directly. They cancelled five appointments made for me via Telstra saying not an NBN problem. But it was just like the other three times. Now have Telstra 5 G. So simple

  • SpicyIce7
    Spicy Ice (@SpicyIce7) reported

@yannikau2 @AmanogawaShiina Makes no difference to me. I ain't buying **** no point. Because Australia is governed by the mentally retarded I have been waiting for nbn the government run fiber network to connect my home internet since December amd still waiting.

  • austhrottle
    Aus throttle (@austhrottle) reported

I usually hate most government spending, but sometimes they get things right. The inland rail was a good project. Cancelling the inland rail is a terrible decision. It is just as important as the NBN, and in this case there isn’t a foreseeable technology that will replace it in 10 years time. Rail is insanely energy and labor efficient compared to trucks. Trucks should only be used for end of journey in a well optimised system.

  • jimboot

@eevblog @Aussie_BB Been on on Starlink maybe 5 years. I can remember one outage because of a Solarflare. Wireless NBN was every other day. Good old Govt again
