Is it an #optus tactic to make getting something fixed so difficult that customers just give up? I've had no nbn since 16th February and no one at #optus seems to care or want to help her the nbn working again. My son works from home. This is just not acceptable.

@VodafoneAU poor form guys. Office modem you supplied faulty - 2 weeks of back and forth, 2 hours on hold yesterday, no solution on how to pickup new modem. First day w/ @Telstra NBN today. You lost a loyal customer of 8 years. 7 mobile + NBN connections @VodafoneAU

@RositaDaz48 What legacy would you chose of YOUR heroes? 1. Chasing non existent WMD. 2. Eating a raw onion 3. An expensive and slow NBN 4. Corrupt liar

From $55 down to $19.99 on release, Turnbull’s memoir is depreciating faster than the NBN

Dear @Optus you are a disgrace, cancel my ADSL as I am signed up to NBN well I would be but still waiting for a modem from you from 10th Oct, rang help desk and Annika CB690949 was going to ring me back in 10/15 minutes 40 minutes.

Unfortunately due to @DodoAustralia's service today's stream was Broken and had to be cut short. Gotta love being promised Internet speeds you're not receiving~ #australia #nbn #dodoaustralia

@NBN_Australia, I have already accepted that broadband in Australia will be worse than most mid-range developing countries. But do you also have to lie to us on maintenance/issues? Why?

@Telstra terrible customer service. Waiting on NBN...people in my street are now connected with other providers..messages 6 hours via app and no reply...

  • bdyling
Benny Ling (@bdyling) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

The good news is, the apartment I purchased off the plan has FTTP. The bad news is, it’s not NBN FTTP, it’s some “LBN Co” FTTP, whom I have never heard of before.

  • littleredwrites
Melanie (@littleredwrites) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

Oh apparently it’s a nationwide NBN issue. Hooray.

  • JohnAFlood
John Flood (@JohnAFlood) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

A friend of mine who teaches at Griffith has been told her NBN is down for 2 days. Teaching and research up the spout. Of all the idiotic decisions @TurnbullMalcom took, screwing up the deployment of Australia’s internet was one of the biggest. Truly awful

  • ashkbne
Ash ☁️ (@ashkbne) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@max_au @simone_au That's the problem hey. The NBN tech installed the NBN modem, got it to pass, and left. The next tech who came out says it's likely the first tech installed an attenuator to get the activation, then removed it (because apparently the techs are too cheap to leave the attenuator)

  • PagewoodCoach
Rubens Camejo (@PagewoodCoach) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@BreakfastNews Talking NBN: Pine Creek, NT. Half way Darwin - Katherine August 2021 needed to apply for a Qld entry pass. Not even the local library could open Qld Govt website. If Cessnock is bad, Outback communities are medieval. Cessnock? Election priority? Hunter seat?

  • GrahamSmith111
Graham Smith (@GrahamSmith111) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

I am no fan of the NBN but the further investment of $3.5 billion defies logic. 5G is coming with very quick download speeds and cable infrastructure. It’s pouring good money after bad. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

  • Guesty22
Matt Guest (@Guesty22) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

I really wish my @Optus 5G WiFi would not drop out every ten mins. Been nothing but trouble since we had it. Need to go back to NBN awful signal.

  • ElCanguro76

One good thing about the #NBN being down today, I’ve given the bathroom & toilet a good clean, and steam cleaned the floors. My wife will be in shock when gets home #Brisbane

  • JFelstein
Jason Felstein (@JFelstein) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

When will Aust get serious about #innovation and enabling the citizen of the future @ScottMorrisonMP help this country compete on the world stage and fix the #nbn. Out of date before it’s complete and no money for a modern communication platform.

  • jerrybr15619298
Craig Acret (@jerrybr15619298) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

@NBN_Australia Think it’s more a Telstra issue as it’s been 15 days with the nbn devices on hold in their warehouse. Thanks for your reply though.

  • EthicalAdviser
Steve Putt (@EthicalAdviser) reported from Brisbane, Queensland

After telling the optus chat line that my house had burned down and that I had tried repeatedly to get the nbn cancelled (which I am still paying for), she asked me, and I kid you not, if I had tried turning it off and turning it back on again. I…I don’t know how to answer.

@ItsMissShorty @robb_j_m When people refer to NBN/Internet as “WiFi” they’re absolutely Luddites or just too lazy to know what they have/need and don’t deserve any help from those who might.

  • thelostleonardo
    Salvator Mundi (@thelostleonardo) reported

@EnergyWrapAU NBN generates revenue and pays down its costs over time. How can you compare that to NDIS which is a huge ongoing cesspool of fraud and waste.

  • orstraya
    Orstraya (@orstraya) reported

@eevblog How can an organisation like NBN not have its own HDD crews or a contractor on standby? Why does it need council permits to carry out emergency works when federal law lets telcos basically do what they want?

  • General_Ch4t
    GeneralChat |🍍🍌| Charity Donothon 29th-7th (@General_Ch4t) reported

OK to explain the reason for missing my own Anniversary stream... basically there was a brief blackout here caused by a transformer blowing and it fried the NBN, so until a technician can come around on Tuesday I have no internet beyond my phone... I will try to make fir it somehow

  • eevblog
    Dave Jones (@eevblog) reported

@asphotos Science isn't going to help when the system is clogged because the NBN is down and many thousands of people are trying to find workarounds. Telstra in the park has collapsed, and Optus is struggling.

  • NBN_Australia
    nbn® Australia (@NBN_Australia) reported

@Peter_Strachan During an unplanned outage on the nbn network we keep your service provider up to date on all available updates like estimated restoration times and details of what's being done to fix the outage itself. As soon as we have any updates, we'll let your service provider know. 1/2

  • BrettS69
    bob (@BrettS69) reported

@EnergyWrapAU @BhagsNStonks The NBN lacked a clear business case, and tried to deliver a Singapore solution to a geographically different Australia. The future was wireless.

  • Ruslan11431897
    JustMate (@Ruslan11431897) reported

@AvidCommentator Starlink is much cheaper…personally I never had NBN and can’t understand why average home user prefers NBN over starlink right now…

  • diss_presso
    Max (@diss_presso) reported

@BrowntownBrew @robb_j_m In some cases. They would pay Telstra to use the pits, or Telstra itself would install fibre. This is an issue all over the world. We’re simply trading one monopoly (Telstra) for another (NBN). But there’s nothing to stop another company in theory from running their own fibre in dense areas - but not now of course, as they wouldn’t be allowed to undercut the NBN (hence the stupid NBN has actually made it so internet cannot be cheaper than how much they say it should be - law of unintended consequences - now the law is literally making cheap internet illegal).

  • BrowntownBrew
    Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@DWybar2 @robb_j_m @Optus Change providers. Aussie broadband were great in pin pointing the issue, providing all the info to nbn to prove there was an issue and getting it fixed.
