No internet for a while, phoned #iinet to see what's up. Spoke to a nice tech called Ishmahill (maybe?) and he worked out that I have been a customer of #iinet longer than he has been alive. (Powers back on now, was NBN's fault). I'm so freakin' old...

@L1nko64 @Canadianguyehh Take Australia for example. Our internet infrastructure is really poor. Even if you get a really good NBN plan it's still a dice roll on if you get the speeds you're paying for. Making even single player games borderline unplayable depending on where you live.

@david_boxall @TonyHWindsor The Australian taxpayer has coughed up about $60 billion to build the NBN network and still counting. Plus they have to pay for their Internet connection through retailers

@internode are still charging my dead mother for a dsl service on a line @NBN_Australia disconnected months ago. @Telstra managed to stop charging & automatically issue a refund for the pstn without being asked. Also managed to process death certificate online.

@Noicewon11 The business is slowly developing from an nbn reseller to a fibre connected provider so over the long term, margin profile can change significantly. Albeit, like you said in the short term there will be issues. Churn not that big of a problem for me.
