LNP would never commit to such a costly infrastructure project and - as we saw with the NBN - if Labor does, it will just be destroyed when they are inevitably booted from govt after 1 term.

For unplanned outages, a reasonable description of the fault would be good so people can get a sense of what's wrong and how big the job is. This would give more confidence that NBN knows what is happening in the network.
