Still much furniture to be arranged/assembled, and we realised the bed was broken in the move so waiting for new parts from Ikea on the weekend, but we have an NBN connection now so it's all looking pretty good.

@NBN_Australia It appears that there’s ”an outage” affecting ”an area” and I’m in the affected area. I’ll get an sms when it’s back in service. I hope it’s not too late because I want to send two laptops through Windows updates before hitting the road in the morning. Not practical over 4G.

@geoffrey_payne Yes, it isn't bad for business grade fibre. At home I have NBN FTTP, and the 50Mbps speed. Usually works well. Should be targeting 1Gbps for fibre, though!

So the relays in the normally closed position direct network traffic to NBN modem, if it fails for more than 5 seconds then the relays activate and change the ethernet cable over to the backup modem. Oh I love a good plan.

@TMFScottP @Telstra Scott, please consider trying Aussie Broadband. I won't even ask you to use my referral link. There's no 4G back up, which is a pain with NBN maintenance but using phone as a hotspot is less of a pain than dealing with Telstra imo. I'm not just a customer, I'm also a shareholder

@pertina1 @timwrig1 the problem lies not with the LNP’s absolute failure, that affects the quality of the line in areas that prohibits speeds. Telcos are the ones with power to set speeds and prices. nbn co. was created to be the wholesaler to telcos.

My late Mum was caught by people working the NBN scam. She was not stupid and was pretty tech savvy. They still managed to siphon her account for every dollar. We got it back but still, it's something to be aware of, especially if you are taking care of elders #NBNscam

@DodoAustralia and @NBN_Australia stop blaming each other for the outage in Toowoomba and other Darling Downs suburbs and just bloody well FIX IT! nearly 12hrs and still waiting. This is NOT acceptable. If I let a problem like this go on for that long, I'd lose my job. #FIXIT
