  • laciheiter Laszlo Heiter (@laciheiter) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Thanks. I have had several conversations and chats with customer service. I stopped reporting the issues, as it’s mainly nbn issues and it’s really frustrating. Paying $70 a month for the service you can hardly use is just outrageous. Text messages coming through advising outages

  • etredoo D (@etredoo) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@optus HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU for being the provider that got our NBN installed in less than 2 weeks. No text messages back and forth for 6 weeks just amazing service! @Telstra you need to take a leaf out of their book 6 weeks of bullshit vs 2 weeks and NBN installed #yesoptus

  • ntniddrie ntn (@ntniddrie) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@MissEmmG @alivicwil @annaspargoryan 1. Not funny. Truth. I work in the remotest regions and people are more connected than my in-laws in central BNE. So it's age not region. 2. NBN does not equal internet. 3. Using FB is using internet. HN is still the worst option of all available choices.

  • Channakt 🇭🇲 Channa K 🇮🇳 (@Channakt) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

NBN has reached my area, which means I am going to have a crappier internet connection, for the past year it's actually been good. But NBN in Australia sucks, especially for a gamer.

  • Flansq Doctor Quim, Medicine Woman (@Flansq) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@sunrisesister @hazelblackberry Oh yeah. You can probably drop down to a fairly cheap plan. I’m on unlimited, top speed NBN — but I use it. We Stream nearly everything in my house. Sometimes other half will be streaming Netflix in 4K in the media room while I’m streaming on my iPad.

  • SJMcCambridge Shaun McCambridge (@SJMcCambridge) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Currently experiencing the single worst customer experience of my life with @TPG_Telecom NBN connection. Wouldn’t recommend, 2 weeks in and still no closer to a solution

  • duttonkona andrew dutton (@duttonkona) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Been 2 days without NBN in Mansfield qld. Silence from @optus but they confirm there is an outage.

  • thenebulaofcats The Nebula of Cats (@thenebulaofcats) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Unfortunately due to @DodoAustralia's service today's stream was Broken and had to be cut short. Gotta love being promised Internet speeds you're not receiving~ #australia #nbn #dodoaustralia

  • Joshlyfry Joshua Lyons (@Joshlyfry) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia No outage detected on your site but TPG have notified that they are conducting emergency work.

  • etredoo D (@etredoo) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@optus HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU for being the provider that got our NBN installed in less than a week!! No text messages back and forth for 6 weeks just damn amazing service! @Telstra 6 weeks of bullshit text messages vs 1 week and NBN installed #yesoptus

  • tajpmahal TAJ PABARI 🇦🇺 (@tajpmahal) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@VodafoneAU poor form guys. Office modem you supplied faulty - 2 weeks of back and forth, 2 hours on hold yesterday, no solution on how to pickup new modem. First day w/ @Telstra NBN today. You lost a loyal customer of 8 years. 7 mobile + NBN connections @VodafoneAU

  • PagewoodCoach Rubens Camejo (@PagewoodCoach) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NickRossTech The market for this? Movies! 3d films has been done but, imagine.. One such movie streamed in all cinemas showing it from a central location. 2 way coms? Not before 2040 and 9G internet. Bandwidth is the issue to overcome with this tech. 1m chats would sink our NBN G5 for movies

  • lorrainewhat lorraine (@lorrainewhat) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

The NBN is brand spanking new but two to three times a week I get a text advising they're doing emergency repairs in my area.

  • lukeacl Luke™ (@lukeacl) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Both home and work internet collapsed this morning at 2am for some reason, weird NBN outage. But because I’m with @Aussie_BB I could easily diagnose connection states, NTD statuses, and perform a port reset on both 1600km away to get them working again without getting out of bed.

  • pkfrancis Paul Francis (@pkfrancis) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

Thoughts on switching to Aussie Broadband? Am with Telstra (on NBN) and the dropouts are ridiculous. Conscious it'll reuse a lot of the same infrastructure but even the customer service has to be better??!

  • 01bSchmick Schmick 01b (@01bSchmick) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@adamajacoby Australia post is only poorly, run to get NBN level bonuses you will need to damn your nation to an internet ghetto.

  • BeachGirlJan JG 🌴⛵🐬🏖🐾🇦🇺 (@BeachGirlJan) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@NotBillbob2 @Telstra Never heard of them. Do they do the NBN?

  • laciheiter Laszlo Heiter (@laciheiter) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus and @NBN_Australia your network is shocking. I don’t think there’s been a day since Christmas that we’ve had a full day without network outage and connection dropping to the level where the internet just can’t be used. Seriously, just unacceptable for the price we pay. 😡

  • ElCanguro76 BWGraham (@ElCanguro76) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

One good thing about the #NBN being down today, I’ve given the bathroom & toilet a good clean, and steam cleaned the floors. My wife will be in shock when gets home #Brisbane

  • Guesty22 Matt Guest (@Guesty22) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

I really wish my @Optus 5G WiFi would not drop out every ten mins. Been nothing but trouble since we had it. Need to go back to NBN awful signal.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Nyscat Nyssa (@Nyscat) reported

@MartinMurray_Ag I’d presume Telstra would have put it in if it’s their conduit of a NBN fibre line. So ultimately their fault. If you cut it, someone will turn up to fix it relatively quickly…

  • petergaskin814 Peter Gaskin (@petergaskin814) reported from Ballarat, State of Victoria

@ellymelly There are few landline phones left in Australia. Most phones run off nbn and power failures eventually kill these phones as the battery in the network device runs out. This is what happened in the big dark in South Australia after the power went down

  • bo_brand RoboBrand (@bo_brand) reported

@page_research Amazing arrogance of Australian ’Intellectual’ types. thinking they have every complex problem solved. NBN scam being blown away by Starlink is one recent example. We thought we were tech advanced to now be blown the ***! away

  • deanja110 DEANJA🇦🇺 (@deanja110) reported

@Bunkers444 @Pivotonian1838 @NoJabsForMeFKU And somewhere in amongst all of this I have to fit in our local NBN News service at 6pm. 🤔🤔🙄🙄

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

@mlbkiwi @BazzaCC @AtheismJesus Taxpayers invested in the NBN to deliver universal broadband access, connecting remote and urban areas alike where private markets wouldn't, yielding broad economic benefits like remote work and education. Lower-tier users aren't "screwed" but can upgrade to boosted speeds at minimal or no added retail cost due to wholesale stability, reflecting efficient use of funds over blanket overprovisioning. Full gigabit mandates would balloon costs further without matching demand for most households.

  • optus_help Optus Help (@optus_help) reported

@DrRebeccaO Hi Rebecca, sorry to hear that you have been experiencing dropouts with your nbn service. This is certainly not the experience we want for our customers and we would like to investigate this. Please send us a DM so we can assist further - Joel

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@BazzaCC I've got 1000/100 at home now on the proper ALP version of the #nbn, before was the unreliable and slow LNP version.

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@rossovino33 @isaacfloyd13 @BazzaCC Yes because NBN began trying to fix the mess created by Abbott and Turnbull by getting more funding to provide free fibre upgrades, once they convert all those copper connections to fibre, NBN will start to make money and be able to offer much higher speed upgrades

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@ConPaffas @BazzaCC Because LNP rolled out a terrible network, put too many people on the satellite service, put too many people on the fixed wireless towers, left people on copper. Also Telstra will want people on their infrastructure rather than NBN so probably didn't try to get NBN to fix it

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@stuffynz @BazzaCC Weird, but I was replying to someone else. I wish the NBN didn't go down the path of mixed tech and stayed with full fibre as Aus would be enjoying the same types of speeds like hyper fibre that NZ offer
