My internet was down for 2 months, it has only been back two weeks then you hit me with this shit. Like man, I have to use my missus hotspot to even play because I made the mistake of having Optus as a mobile provider as well. Highly disappointed.

  • raybisschop Ray Bisschop (@raybisschop) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus your service is shit, techs don’t listen. Not very happy having to reboot my internet every two minutes.

  • WestCoastEagles West Coast Eagles (@WestCoastEagles) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

  • Oji10858621 Oji (@Oji10858621) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@VodafoneAU #Optus gave my friend a top of the line phone 5 months air time and data free for being a loyal customer of 30 years. Now that's a brand I want to be with! What have u done for me being 20 years and failed at all fronts to me!

  • madamcyn cynthia dammerer (@madamcyn) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

Good to know it's only the customers and not Optus that's affected. #OptusHack It is a combination of your name, date of birth, email, phone number and/or address but it is important to know that Optus’ network and Optus services including mobile and home Wi-Fi aren’t affected🤬

  • andiijk Aj 🌙🌏✨🧬 🌤 (@andiijk) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Vass2016 @Optus Try over a year of being told our service works fine when it didn’t work AT ALL. Easy over 100 hours of calls (getting transferred multiple times having to explain the same thing) 🙄🤯🤯🤬

  • davidjseibuhr David J Seibuhr (@davidjseibuhr) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus no internet in Palm Beach Qld ALL DAY today. And I got a text saying maintenance work will be extended until July???!!!. Seriously not good enough! $20 discount off last month for the crap service? I can’t contact anybody!!! #furious

  • troyhunt Troy Hunt (@troyhunt) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

A radio host asked me if the gov can fix this. How? Make hacking illegal? Penalise companies for breaches? There are definitely areas they can influence (better regulation around data retention and identify verification in the @Optus case), but it doesn’t “fix” the problem.

  • MattWebberWrite Matt Webber (@MattWebberWrite) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus Mate. Soooo many people working from home, kids at home, trying to stay connected with family and friends. Not even close to acceptable. At least give us an eta for fix. Honestly just get it together.

  • HollySubritzky Holly Subritzky (@HollySubritzky) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus ARE TERRIBLE!!!! Forever wasting my life on the phone going around in circles!!!!

  • MattWebberWrite Matt Webber (@MattWebberWrite) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus how long will network be out for in 4223!!!! Need to work from home!!! No phone or internet... help!

  • LeithEriksonABF Leith (@LeithEriksonABF) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@andrewzed3 @TurnbullMalcolm I have tried to use it after having @optus connect the business plan with a charity I volunteer for and it’s embarrassing. We will keep the ADSL as long as we can and try to find a better solution. Australian’s have been ripped off!

  • LeithEriksonABF Leith (@LeithEriksonABF) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus NBN is a reoccurring horror movie where you go from one work order to the next with no one able to deliver a completed service. #NBNFAIL

  • rejsbasnet yas boo (@rejsbasnet) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

**** is wrong with optus ko ******* service smh

  • karenandrewsmp Karen Andrews MP (@karenandrewsmp) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

Optus is already working with the AFP. What legislative steps is the Home Affairs Minister taking to specifically ensure this type of incident is prevented in future?

  • magpies59 @magpies59 (@magpies59) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

Well well..email from Optus…never been a mobile user with them…BUT with Virgin Mobile..Optus purchased their customers!! So now I’ve got ***** hacking my banking, super & various other Apps. There’s 9 in total…so glad I ****** then off & went with Vodafone!! #OptusHack #Optus

  • Qldstew Bat’s (@Qldstew) reported from Tweed Heads, State of New South Wales

@Telstra BOTS ARE NOT THE ANSWER! I applied to Telstra to establish a broadband at my new address before December 5! I now a month later have a house full of teenagers in a rainy day and no ******* internet! Why can Optus or vodaphone provide fast service, and Telstra not?

  • realfitzy1971 Michael Fitzgerald (@realfitzy1971) reported from Gold Coast, State of Queensland

@Optus Don’t do it, it’s rubbish and the service is appalling.

  • Greg_IX Greg (@Greg_IX) reported

Well done @optus , leak our data and decide to employ a disgraced ex-premier... Bad form! Time to find another provider IMO. 😡🤬

  • Andre21653405 Andrè Troglodyte, Sewer Rat, Union Fan 🎀🇺🇦🌈💙 (@Andre21653405) reported

@AgedAndrew @Optus The CEO in Australia isn't the problem! Their IT dept & engineers are! I hope I'm not immeshed in this Optus disaster, all I've got is an email saying blah blah but nothing to reassure me that my details haven't been disclosed!

  • DeanRosario Dean Rosario (@DeanRosario) reported

Listening to ex-Optus lobbyist @PaulFletcherMP try to blame ALP Govt for the Optus breach, whilst saying "I don't have all the facts". He was Communications Minister. He had power to create strong safeguards for Aussie customer ID data to not be abused by Telcos. He did nothing

  • billiejoe87 Paul M 🦘 (@billiejoe87) reported

@trevorlong I tried to sign up to Optus in September and they failed with the porting. I then received the email stating all my details were taken. Contacted Optus chat 3 times and was told as not an Optus customer not entitled to anything. Have now lodged a TIO complaint.

  • hardenuppete Glen Schaefer (@hardenuppete) reported

@ellisoconnor Yes this is the question on the NSW Service form to request a change of drivers license number. @ServiceNSW should provide a streamlined service for all NSW drivers affected by the Optus data breach.

  • JessicaPerthWA Jessica Mason (@JessicaPerthWA) reported

@strangerous10 Damage is done with OPTUS. Others will be acting to secure their servers. Legislation can wait a little longer if we must choose

  • WoodLeonie Leonie Wood (@WoodLeonie) reported

And, as an Optus customer affected by the data breach, I am a little alarmed to discover my bank now allows ID verification using my -- wait for it -- mobile phone number. This feels a bit like a carnival merry-go-around ...

  • DebRose69128340 Deb Rose (@DebRose69128340) reported

@hughriminton Lodged complaint with Optus & ombudsman to try to get details of what data breached after very unsatisfactory script based chat with Optus. Got script based response saying that if my DL been breached I would have or will get a call 😳. Had to give access to my account for that!

  • talkingwalk Carla Muse (@talkingwalk) reported

@lilydobson1 @lovinglimbo They should also be responsible for identifying and notifying every customer exactly what personal data has been obtained by hackers via Optus mismanagement of their privacy details.

  • voodoo47 Lady ♏ 💉💉💉 (@voodoo47) reported

Anyone else getting emails left. right and centre from their banks and internet providers assuring you that what happened to Optus would never happen to them...and telling us how to protect our data...hmm maybe it should be them protecting me not telling me how to protect my data
