Optus Issues Reports Near Newcastle, State of New South Wales

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Newcastle and nearby locations:

  • ajhill_alan Alan Hill (@ajhill_alan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@perthovalman @kevinperry @TheWorldGame @SBS @ALeague @premierleague @Craig_Foster @LucyZelic A cash-strapped FTA network does its best but has no hope of competing with Foxtel (itself scaling back football coverage in the face of its own financial woes) and Optus. I'd blame the government before pointing a finger at SBS.

  • ReetuMutti Reetu Mutti (@ReetuMutti) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

.@TPG_Telecom Trying to port my TPG no from TPG’s Optus to Vodaphone network. Spent countless hrs calling helpdesk every day, talked to supervisiors, waited days for engineers to investigate. Been waiting 20 DAYS, still not working. This is ridiculous. Fix this!!

  • tmacca_1996 Thomas McKenna (@tmacca_1996) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus @7mate take your ads off appearing as every second one! I will never use your service due to this. Biggest pet peeve, waste of money on your marketing side #idiots #advertising

  • SophiePearse Sophie Pearse (@SophiePearse) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

I’ve phoned @Optus customer service 3 days in a row and you’ve YET to rectify this issue, despite advising you have. This is incredibly poor form, deplorable in fact 😡

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • SwabianGenocide SwabianGenocide (@SwabianGenocide) reported

@HackerCyberSec Optus claimed to have a "sophisticated" security apparatus in place. Management and directors share blame for essentially lying to the public, and the techies for gross amateurish incompetence. "With what they've got" - poor developers

  • TlWilson17 Tl Wilson (@TlWilson17) reported

@ScammerPayback - can you help with the Aussie Optus hack? Over 11 million appear affected and $1.5 million ransom demanded.

  • ajruddy71 Anthony Ruddy (@ajruddy71) reported

@DrKate_Miller @Optus I'm part of the team that, as a paying customer who is relying on a service to be safe and secure, has very real expectations that this company is capable & proactive in ensuring just that. Loyalty is not just a card customers get by spending lots...

  • ergopropterdoc Kara Allen (@ergopropterdoc) reported

@samr6003 @Optus Absolutely-I'm concerned about people with low digital literacy and less resource to access this help. Really disappointing from @Optus #OptusHack

  • marlinman76 Ian No Jab For Me #Bitcoin (@marlinman76) reported

Why would @Optus keep old customer details on file after accounts are closed? Then let you know that @Optus has been a victim of a cyberattack. As a former Optus customer this has resulted in the disclosure of your personal information. Worst Telco in Aus Bad Service No security.

  • Lemmy7003 Game Boy Mitch (@Lemmy7003) reported

@Stoggaz Optus have already told people to essentially **** off

  • pollyblues pollyblues (@pollyblues) reported

@Optus hey Optus I want more details on this breach, where has it originated from and what assurances can you give that they have not had access to my financial details. Think you may need to look at compensation like cancel all this months bills. You need to do better.

  • pitdroidtech Max (@pitdroidtech) reported

@AusGovSlave @ClareONeilMP It seems it was a vulnerability in an api combined with testing a new platform, plugged into the Optus data for testing, on an internet connected network. So not quite as simple as a random url. Hackers who know the vulnerability would have been probing likely users of the api.

  • mattgoldman Matt Goldman #BlackLivesMatter (@mattgoldman) reported

I think @Optus have just confirmed EVERY current and former customer is affected
