@LennaLeprena I’ve got an Optus pre-paid phone. I’ve received no text or notification from them about the cyber hack. I did get a text for being a loyal customer and offering me an extra 120 minutes talk time valid for 5 days if I recharge with $30 dollars or more.

  • gulidjanwarrior Penny (@gulidjanwarrior) reported

@Optus @RunnerSA18 OPTUS customer here- what responsibility will you take? Scammers now have ALL my details. Cancelling my account tomorrow in disgust.

  • JesseKuch Jesse Kuch (@JesseKuch) reported

@brookeCjacobson @Optus It's gotta be the worst response to a cyber attack from a major company I've seen and that's saying something. How's the CEO crying and saying I'm sorry without even really offering anything more than that?

  • JacintaKeefe Jacinta Keefe (@JacintaKeefe) reported

@Sidonie89 @patrickkeneally @Optus are you a buisness customer by any chance i think they're emailing them first - as i got emailed but none of my friends and fam have emails and hope they don't get them.

“We’ve never seen anything like this before,” said Optus’s Chief Security Officer. “Most breaches we’ve seen don’t involve any humans, let alone errors created by humans. Usually, they’re just computers deciding they don’t like each other any more.”
