@Optus Hi Aman, I appreciate that but I was told that before when I was promised multiple phone calls that never eventuated. Never mind the FTTN service we are getting drops out constantly and isn’t as reliable as the previous DSL service at my old address.

  • mr_calabria tino mamone (@mr_calabria) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

  • corymedia Cory (@corymedia) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

If the .@Optus network wasn’t so bad and .@VodafoneAU wasn’t ridiculously panicked as to whether I can pay (because they made it clear they think I don’t make enough money), I’d be looking for a better network.

  • camo2572 💧Darren Camilleri (@camo2572) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

@blackops_spy @miffyjayne Some tech will get fired and that will be it. Full disclosure - I’m not an Optus customer- but I will be stoked to be proved wrong on this cause it sets a terrible precedent if nothing happens to them.

  • jenna___lou JOIN YOUR UNION (@jenna___lou) reported

my algorithm is broken and it thinks i'm a horse girl, can the ***** stealing my identity off that optus leak please at least impersonate me well

  • corduroy Joshua McKinnon (@corduroy) reported

@redruby17 @wyvernsrose At the very least, I hope that given the scale of the situation, you will be supported by our government, if not by Optus, if any problems arise.

  • kathyktr Kat 🐈 (@kathyktr) reported

@rustedon1962 @Optus Me, you & 2.8million more it seems. Well that is the number they say had the DL, Passport + DOB, address, phone/email etc stolen or as it now may appear, bad Black Hats on the Dark Web may have been allowed to just wander in through an open doorway on their system.

  • corduroy Joshua McKinnon (@corduroy) reported

@ClareONeilMP just wanted to say that I appreciated your clear understanding of the gravity of the Optus situation, as discussed on @abc730 last night, and also the understanding of the tech community that it was unacceptably poor behaviour that allowed this to happen.

  • pitdroidtech Max (@pitdroidtech) reported

@HappySinger @Optus Agree about the metadata laws but the ACMA requirement to prove new customer ID doesn't require the service provider to retain the information. And I don't think that info comes under metadata laws and if it does that's only 2 years and some of the data breach goes back to 2017.

  • TheWayfarer11 The Wayfarer (@TheWayfarer11) reported

I'm not even a current @Optus customer and my details were part of the data breach. Haven't been with them for years. Why do they still have me on files?

  • OneAussieChick Aussie Chick (@OneAussieChick) reported

@VicRoads - why can't you cancel and reissue the drivers licenses of hacked Optus customers that want to do this? We are at high risk of identity theft and you won't help us mitigate this until it's to late. @BenCarrollMP

  • Latte_Bogan ☕ John B. Latte Sipping Bogan (@Latte_Bogan) reported

@AndrewBartlett Optus wouldn't have such a big problem if they hadn't been obliged to keep all this data by surveillance laws agreed to by both sides of the duopoly.

  • SandiHLogan Sandi Logan (@SandiHLogan) reported

Have you ever seen a CEO @Optus @kbrspace (Kelly Bayer Rosmarin) or CorpAffrs exec @saltysallyo (Sally Oelerich) bomb so comprehensively with every public utterance (about the massive data leak)? Instead of assuring customers, their utter incompetence frightens the crap outta me!
