    If there's one silver lining after the recent Optus and Medibank hacks here in AU, then it's the fact that orgs seem to finally be putting a focus onto their security from the top down. Today I had another great workshop with a new customer to assess their overall #cloudsecurity.

    If the .@Optus network wasn’t so bad and .@VodafoneAU wasn’t ridiculously panicked as to whether I can pay (because they made it clear they think I don’t make enough money), I’d be looking for a better network.

    @kaine177 Optus oval was built closer to MCG dimensions … that would play a part, but yes if you think back, they didn’t play well in the hubs last year either. It’s a shame … No Gaff doesn’t help … and our weather is shite compared to over there. It’s proper winter footy.

    @Optus Hi Aman, I appreciate that but I was told that before when I was promised multiple phone calls that never eventuated. Never mind the FTTN service we are getting drops out constantly and isn’t as reliable as the previous DSL service at my old address.

    @HITCSevens It’s nearly 9am Alfie I’ve got lipzig x Liverpool on Optus sports and listening to @paul_winginit on stereo ... you gonna go on sterio and talk football on it lad .... I watched ya video last night :) I’m over lock down we been in lock down 3 now lad ... only been to one game ;(

    love @gilly381 but for Gilly to jump up and down and say MCG shouldnt have a guaranteed Boxing Day test in favour for his Optus Stadium in Perth yeah um Gilly half of all Kiwis live in WA for the mining jobs and yet you cant even fill up a day 1 1st test in a ANZAC clash #AUSvNZ

    @3AWNeilMitchell scare mongering again on the @Optus data breach. Mitchell needs to be part of the solution and not the problem. Although it’s a nice reprieve from the constant @DanielAndrewsMP bashing.

    @ChinaSelect Australia has had two major telecommunications network failures. As a result of the Telstra failure, three people died, including a baby. One person died as a result of the Optus failure. No infrastructure should have any exposure to foreign adversaries.

    @KobieThatcher @Ann19851873 Agree 💯 Also with the recent Telstra outage and formed Optus outage. Both affecting Eftpos networks and ATM’s. Cash is king for many reasons including privacy. Do not let cash die out.

We recommend enabling biometrics in the My Optus App for a faster and secure login, where no extra codes are required. From the 1st of Jan 2026, no conversation history will be stored/available in the My Optus app or My Account online.     Orbital robotics is quietly becoming a real commercial business, not a DARPA demo. Northrop's Mission Robotic Vehicle just launched on a Falcon 9 with two robotic arms and three detachable Mission Extension Pods. In 2027, it will autonomously dock with the Optus satellite at ~27,000 miles up and bolt on a pod to extend its life by 6 years. The Optus bird launched in 2009, designed for 15 years. It's not broken. It just needs propellant. That's the whole thesis here. The business model shift is what stands out. Operators buy and own the MEPs permanently attached to their spacecraft. That frees the MRV to keep servicing other vehicles, more like a mobile repair truck than a dedicated tug. Two MEVs have already delivered 10 years of combined life extension across three customers. The unit economics are starting to close. Autonomous proximity ops at GEO velocities, with no margin for error, is the hard part. Does the MRV's dual-arm approach give it enough dexterity to handle satellites it wasn't originally designed to service?

    @jazzpk Australia switched off its 3G network in 2024, since then Jazz IR roaming stopped working in Australia. Community raised it many times with Jazz, to always receive a reply to adjust network settings to no avail. Please talk with Singtel/Optus to restore Jazz IR in Australia.

    @chdyctt I cancelled a contract with Optus 10 years ago due to their relocated contact centre. Was awful, but Telstra ended being cheaper believe it or not. In saying that, communications need to be explained easy & not written by AI and signed off.
