-
Alex Dennis🏳️🌈🇦🇺 (@miracleboi) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Optus Yes I get that but it does state on your FAQ's regarding the situation to call and that's the issue - you can't which is absolutely poor performance. Can you confirm when contact will occur as in how many days or weeks till I potentially find out being a former customer?
-
Donna Longhurst (@50to39) reported from Sydney, New South WalesThe latest Optus ad deals with their cyber attack. Fair enough. My problem is they use the term 'learnings'. A word that doesn't exist in the English language. Lessons is the correct term, or 'what we have learnt'. If they can't get something that simple right, I wonder....
-
Chris Jack (@chrisjackis) reported from Sydney, New South WalesIf laughable that @PeterDutton_MP suggests the #OptusDataBreach is a problem for the government. It’s an Optus issue about a breach in Optus customer data. Let Optus sort things out and investigate first. #auspol
-
Lee Bailey (@leebailey11) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Optus my NBN has been showing a reduced service for almost 24 hours and is still listed as ‘under investigation’. Any chance someone will get the investigation done soon. With downloads of 3.14mbps and uploads at 0.44mbps I can’t do anything currently
-
Iaen Cordell (@IaenCordell) reported from Sydney, New South WalesAt last I got an answer for my 3G issues, they have switched off 3G 2100MHZ 3G in Artarmon! Now if they just informed the clowns in customer circus, then again Optus have a more current example of not advising customers! <grin>
-
Tiffany (@msstraighty180) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@HansOrph @Optus Had bad customer experience with them in 2009 thus they've been blacklisted by me since then
-
Justin Brash 🏳️🌈🏴🇦🇺🍸📷🐱 (@just_brash) reported from Sydney, New South WalesOptus CEO has said “this [#optushack] is due to bad actors”. You mean like Tom Cruise?
-
Sagittarius (Sgr) A* (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@InsideRetailau @Optus Nothing was broken into, it was left out in the open.
-
John Vizzone (@JVizzone) reported from Sydney, New South WalesLast year I had my identity stolen including drivers licence details changed, partially at the hands of Service NSW. Good luck Optus victims getting your licence changed. Even when they were part of the fraud I’m still waiting for my new licence.
-
Marty K (@_marty_k) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@developerjack You gotta wonder if there’s been a bank hack that hasn’t hit the news yet… & they’re trying to get ahead of it instead of the poor response a-la-Optus & Medibank

Graeme T (he/him)💉x 4 🇦🇺 (@GT_AUS) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@strangerous10 We'll get a good line of sight of the Optus CEO's principles and governance beliefs if and/or when ICAC delivers a corrupt finding. If that happens, and Glaaaaad is retained.... Black ban Optus.👎😡 Mind Optus has never given a 💩 about customers from my experience.
-
Joe Ortenzi 🇨🇦 🇮🇹 🇦🇺 (@wheelyweb) reported from Sydney, New South WalesHey @guardian : has anyone asked @optus if previous customer data has been deleted? I was once a customer maybe 8 years ago so no idea if they had my data.
-
Donna Longhurst (@50to39) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@SEggminder @Optus Probably the small cogs in the chain on the phone not getting all the info from the bosses. Doesn't help situation.
-
Simone Amelia Jordan (@SimoneAJordan) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@bkjabour Yes! My Optus mobile plan has been bugging the f*ck out the past week. Dropped calls, not ending the call when I hit the red button, coverage issues.
-
Sir Darryl Adams (@FlyOpineMonkey) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@AbstractCode @NewtonMark @Optus To be fair, they have a female CEO to issue apologies and polish the **** the board and company have created.
-
JPMasters (He/Him/They/Them) (@JPMasters) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Jeremy_Kirk I think @Optus is in some deep trouble.
-
Justin Brash 🏳️🌈🏴🇦🇺🍸📷🐱 (@just_brash) reported from Sydney, New South WalesCurrent & former Optus customers have had their data stolen. It begs the question, why does Optus keep former customer’s data? #optusfail
-
Sterg13 (@Sterg_G13) reported from Sydney, New South WalesDoes Optus Sport streaming look crap for EPL?

Graeme T (he/him)💉x 4😷 - 🌳🌲 🍃🌏 (@GT_AUS) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@janine_hendry @MargaretHollin1 @Optus Ah yes, seems things haven't changed since I dropped them a few years ago. Still fascinates me they are a going concern. Mgmt here and parent, SINGTEL couldn't give a rat's arse about customer service. 👎😡🤬

-
liam (@wheat_slice) reportedi’ve never even set foot inside optus stadium but why is vic media so hyper fixated on wharfie time but completely bypass the fact they have butter chicken loaded chips???
-
tonyOnOn (@tonyward116) reported@Possum2412 @Batman2242 I got it on my telstra service, but wife didn't on her Optus service ?
-
Heather Bilson. (@BilsonhBilson) reported@gpeurocars These 1/2 wits leave us unsafe! Telstra & Optus widespread outages triggers severe, cascading national security & public emergencies as modern infrastructure is hyper-connected, a single software defect or network drop instantly paralyzes critical systems, not just calls. 2/2 🧵
-
Optus (@Optus) reported@jnj_pro Hey, J. Customers who log in using email & password also need to perform Multi-factor authentication (MFA). We recommend enabling biometrics in the My Optus App for a faster and secure login, where no extra codes are required. From the 1st of Jan 2026, no conversation history will be stored/available in the My Optus app or My Account online. We understand that this change is a pain point for you, and we've flagged this as feedback for the relevant teams to review. - Dillon

Jumbarrawa (@jumbarrawa) reportedIt's not like mainstream media dont know about ANY of this. 👇👇 In September 2017, the federal government announced a $50 million investment over seven years in the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (CSCRC). The CEO was Rachael Falk. She led the independent review into the Optus and Medibank cyber breaches. She was appointed by the Minister for Home Affairs to the Expert Advisory Board for Australia’s 2023-2030 Cyber Security Strategy. In February 2025, Falk left the CSCRC to become a partner at Ashurst Risk Advisory—a return to the firm where she had worked as a lawyer in 1998. The CSCRC was not just a research centre. It was a revolving door—a place where a connected insider could build a network, then cash in.

Dan Kelly ♥️🇦🇺💯 (@DanKelly966767) reported@KobieThatcher @Ann19851873 Agree 💯 Also with the recent Telstra outage and formed Optus outage. Both affecting Eftpos networks and ATM’s. Cash is king for many reasons including privacy. Do not let cash die out.
-
Dread Pirate Grimm🇦🇺✝️ (@Gizzmo4141) reported@lordlaw92 Landlines still exist, just nobody uses them so people stopped paying for the Service. I mean 'why pay for home phone and mobile?' as with most things in society people simply don't expect things once established to ever fail. It's why optus and telstra are strung out atm.
-
Nathan (@motelbad) reportedSo good to finally not be an Optus customer anymore after 2 years of paying my phone off 😌
-
Optus (@Optus) reported@enngees I understand the service is already active. Apologies for any confusion. My comment was specifically in relation to your question about travellers purchasing an Optus SIM and the advice we provide. If you're having trouble recharging your service using one of our accepted payment methods, please send us a DM, and we'll take a closer look at what's happening. - Talia
-
TrueAussieMum (@aussiemum30) reported@Optus The reason I ask is my account is now overdue by 8 days, I'm able to pay the bill in 2 days in full however when asking for help or letting optus know of concerns with overdue accounts and financial difficulties the automatic payment system set up on this account restricts the help i can ask for online
