I’ve phoned @Optus customer service 3 days in a row and you’ve YET to rectify this issue, despite advising you have. This is incredibly poor form, deplorable in fact 😡
-
Greg Blue (@gjblue) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@Hillysfarms @Telstra I reckon telstra coverage in metro areas is third after optus and Vodafone, its terrible here in Newcastle
-
Shane N. Thompson (@ShaneNatalie) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@Optus hello, I received spam email this week claiming to be Optus & confirming that I had increased my laptop data usage with Optus. I never increased my data usage. Can you now confirm with me that my laptop/mobile plan hasn’t been changed? Thanks.

Julian 🇦🇺 (@JKRLMazur) reported from Cessnock, State of New South Wales
@Telstra Yep. Unfortunately I’m so disgusted with the way I’ve been treated as a customer will see me head to @optus Telstra high prices dont reflect the service you receive from staff when there is a problem. It’s disgraceful. By far the worst telco I have dealt with, ever.
-
@carlagrossetti (@carlagrossetti) reported from Maitland, State of New South Wales
@Optus Thanks Nard. What causes an outage that only affects webmail?
-
Craig Wilson (@mediahunter) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@CouchNish I can't even watch it. Optus issues. 😡
-
🇦🇺Julian 🇦🇺 (@JKRLMazur) reported from Cessnock, State of New South Wales
@Telstra 2hrs this morning wasted with your member chat trying to take out a new contract, long term customer counts for nothing, go on Optus site and as a nobody I got a better deal straight off.
-
Nick Williams (@nickintheworld) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@a_choros **** Telstra, marry Vodafone, kill Optus... Truth be told I’d prefer to kill Telstra while screaming **** you and have an ongoing FWB with Vodafone and just leave Optus alone
-
Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
My name isn’t Andrew. But thanks to @optus I have access to his full name, home address, email address, passwords, contact number, credit card details and other random bits of information. My situation isn’t solved, and now if I was a bad guy, Andrew’s would have been ruined.
-
Carol Duncan (@carolduncan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@joshgnosis I’e tweeted Optus for help/advice, tried online chat twice … nothing.
-
Siobhan Curran (@siobhan_curran) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
As an @optus customer I haven’t received any correspondence regarding the data breach and have no idea if my data has been compromised.
-
Alan Hill (@ajhill_alan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@perthovalman @kevinperry @TheWorldGame @SBS @ALeague @premierleague @Craig_Foster @LucyZelic A cash-strapped FTA network does its best but has no hope of competing with Foxtel (itself scaling back football coverage in the face of its own financial woes) and Optus. I'd blame the government before pointing a finger at SBS.

Thomas McKenna (@tmacca_1996) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@Optus @7mate take your ads off appearing as every second one! I will never use your service due to this. Biggest pet peeve, waste of money on your marketing side #idiots #advertising
-
Owen Mansfield (@MansfieldOwen) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@Optus Worst service I’ve ever recommend. Have been trying to connect NBN. No one in your call centres seem to know what to do.
-
Reetu Mutti (@ReetuMutti) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
.@TPG_Telecom Trying to port my TPG no from TPG’s Optus to Vodaphone network. Spent countless hrs calling helpdesk every day, talked to supervisiors, waited days for engineers to investigate. Been waiting 20 DAYS, still not working. This is ridiculous. Fix this!!
-
Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
Optus then decided after over 90 mins of explaining myself multiple times to different people on chat, I’d need to wait for a call. That call happened, it was from the wrong department. So they had to transfer me. After 2 hours I got some help. “So what can we do today?” 🤯

🇦🇺Julian 🇦🇺 (@JKRLMazur) reported from Cessnock, State of New South Wales
@recneps51 @Optus @NSW_FairTrading I bpay to telstra also, I know they charge me for a paper bill, which I request but never receive, but I don’t know about the other bit. I’d never allow direct debit, especially Optus, I used to ring them every other month about issues.
-
Mat and Kita Clarke (@KitaandMat) reported from Maitland, State of New South Wales
@OeterB @Fozbyte That's what I did! I'm an optus customer so it's included in my plan.
-
Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales
@optus can’t call me and I can’t call them because I don’t have either a business or a personal line. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Do we have any options that don’t leak peoples private data to randoms in Australia? How absolutely incompetent and stupid.

Thanks @ServiceSAOnline for extending your opening hours for affected Optus customers but it doesn’t help much when @Optus only tell you you need a new licence after those extended hours near me are finished. Not happy jan…
-
`~` (@noname_noidea) reported
Loosening privacy laws to help deal with the fallout of a massive telco hack is very much on brand for Australian legislative "cyber security" If only Optus was mandated to retain more sensitive info, then it'd be much easier to work out who was hacked

Police arrest teen for using leaked Optus data to extort victims The AFP (Australian Federal Police) have arrested a 19-year-old man in Sydney and charged him for allegedly using leaked Optus customer data for extortion. [...] via BleepingComputer (author: Bill Toulas).

George Parthimos (@GeorgeParthimos) reported
So, 10.2 million Optus customers will now have their personal data shared with banks and governments without their consent. This is supposedly to help prevent fraud. So much for privacy and individual rights!!!
-
Business Mobility Asia (@asia_mobility) reported
I suspect @Optus has about the worst customer service when you want to cancel an account. Website takes you in circles and you end up on hold for who knows how long. What happened to this once great carrier. Telstra looks like getting my business after nearly 30 years
-
claire 🌧️ ⚧ (@fuzzybluerain) reported
@ExiledVictorian I've never been with Optus, but I used them to sign up for that "watch the Women's World Cup" thing. That was with my boymode email though so it's probably lost to the ages
-
𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 #BLM 🏳️🌈🇺🇦 (@backupbear) reported
Maybe #Optus should offer all data breach victims a free phone* of their choice as part of a compensation program. *Network unlocked of course.
-
alex䷰stopheles (@technihilism) reported
it also ******* sucks so hard that an idiot 19yo opportunistic scammer is going to face more legal repercussion for the breach than any of the responsible ***** at Optus we've found our scapegoat for corporate AND government malfeasance now, pack it all up everyone! #auspol

Allan Spence (@AllanSpence20) reported
@OAICgov OAIC blatantly suppressed hacking of private information. The massive blunder OAIC after flagging OPTUS, ZURICK. Hope the legal firms will use this wisely for class action and gross negligence BS never helped Australian Citizens just aided the hackers and still do TODAY
