But something hit the aerial lead-in cable at 3:30 Monday morning 3 weeks ago. A neighbour on Telstra was restored within days but for some reason NBN can't supply a tech with a ladder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm just disappointed that today's visit by NBN wasn't planned properly. I've no medical issues relying on the network, just hoping for service to get my work and relaxation done.

Peter Dewar (@PeterD84508) reported@timritchie It was failed PM John Howard that sold off Telstra to the tax payers that already owned it. A disgraceful act when we also needed to upgrade to the optic fibre network at the same time. The LNP / Foxtel version of the NBN was another disgraceful failure ....

Rolly polly (@Rolly50Hundred) reported@B_e_n_n_y @r0ck3t23 It’s already obsolete. If you have decent 5G it’s light years ahead of NBN. Most cities don’t have proper 5G though. They think they do but it’s awful pretty much everywhere except Gold Coast.

Max bandwidth Starlink: 310/44mbps (down/up). NBN FTTP: 2Gbps/500Mbps. Wireless/Wifi/Satellite will always be slower.

Deevitha (@Deevitha_) reportedFinally bit the bullet and got Starlink installed. Highly impressed, the speed and stability runs everything beautifully. We haven’t had a single circle of death anywhere. No more dealing with the shortfalls of NBN lines, poor workmanship and dodgy patchwork repairs. In our exit survey from the old company I let them know the reason for leaving was the poor service the NBN infrastructure can provide, and now that customers have another choice we aren’t limited by the failing system. Highly recommend the switch if you have been considering it.

Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported@the_vocal_one @CovfefeDnUnder You’re missing the point. Wired networks pre NBN worked just fine, and still do. Every new NBN suburban / bush connection loses money. Every new Starlink customer is profitable, so it can strip away customers and NBN will slowly die. PS : I’ve been on 5G for years : 4x speed

My olds were hooked up 10yrs ago and while they used the existing Telstra conduit to the house, the inside install was terrible - left a big hole in the wall behind the NTU, which let spiders into the house until I found it years later and patched it up.
