    @KRV1944 @NBN_Australia Similar experience here recently. Hours on support chat to RSP. Eventually fixed with new modem.

Starlink is the same OR cheaper and gives better service! while our sat service costs a LOT for lousy speeds and is ****** if? it works at all Elon Musk cashes in on Australia’s NBN fail Bush families are being forced to pay the world’s richest man for basic phone coverage, as Australia’s bungled NBN rollout leaves dangerous black spots across the regions.     @GearlessRoe I need internet, I'll go nuts without it. Heh. I miss gaming, waste of time as it was. I need some connection to the outside world, as much as I like/need my solitude. There is one section in this place where I get signal good enough to stream/use the internet well enough. Everywhere else is essentially dead. Miss being able to use the phone in bed, have to hotspot it & put it in one specific spot & use the PC now. See what happens/what I do these coming weeks. If I don't leave here/get kicked out for breaching them, and I can get more dollars in, Starlink will be the way. In theory. Shame though, $85 a month for only 100gb is an oof. My NBN plan with unlimited data at the last place was only $70 a month. Without further dollars/income, cannot afford. Will have to sort something soon. My entire situation right now is *not* sustainable.

    @Johnuh9d @AvidCommentator The NBN is expensive crap. The NDIS has turned into a complete rort. The GFC was an American housing crisis that had very little to to do with us. The pandemic was an over reaction. They've blown the lot. Money wasted with zero return on investment. Both parties are responsible for this mess and all I see for the future is higher unemployment and a low currency. It's going to be a double whammy. We are already in a per capita recession. The country needs some serious reform and it needs it right now..

    @Noicewon11 @Starlink I used to get that screen regularly before Starlink... Pretty sure Macquarie Park/Marsfield would count as Metro. Only ~3 week sample size, but blows away the horrific NBN service I dropped. Only started on the 100MB service too.

    @p_terg IT ordeal 😵‍💫 They got the NBN on today. Box nowhere near the computer and computer doesn’t have a wifi adapter. So I did the dash down the road and got them a 10m Ethernet cable and away they go.

    When that idiot Rudd committed to spending $Billions on the NBN I said it was a waste of $. If it made sense a private co would've done it. It may had made sense in the big cities but that's it. It's obsolete.

    Here in Sydney, we're still waiting for the Nine Network's switch to a mostly MPEG4 multiplex which among other things, will bring with it 9LifeHD. No idea if they're waiting for NBN to move out before making that change or what, but I guess patience is a virtue in any case!
