  • themediapod Ross Monaghan (@themediapod) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

  • ashemah Ashemah (@ashemah) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@ReidParker_ Sadly my cable speed is down a bit since NBN turned on in my street.......................

@Optus hello 👋 why is it so hard to reach optus, called twice with no return calls:( I received my nbn & router yesterday morning but the nbn has been blinking the whole day. Need help!

  • daytime2day daytime2day (@daytime2day) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

We have to FIX the NBN - then people can study wherever they want. #ciglobal @VCdeakin

  • EmJaeCaer Michael Carmody (@EmJaeCaer) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@MoeycQ @NBN_Australia @Aussie_BB I think I saw on your tweet you were on HFC version of NBN. You want to vent your anger @TurnbullMalcolm who decided this was a good idea for a modern broadband system. NBN and ABB are just trying to make shit work.

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mik_rosser @verbaliza That sort of makes no sense because it’s generally the gaining provider who would be at fault. So if you want to connect with Telco B for NBN it’s on Telco B. If Telco A (Optus) keep billing you that is different issue not necessarily connected to a new connection.

  • JayBallzup Jay Ball (@JayBallzup) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

This Google Stadia thing looks cool. Probably won’t be great in Australia until 5G is here. That said, they recon they only need min 15mb down; max 40ms latency and max 5% packet loss. Many NBN connections smash that. But if it’s widely adopted, congestion will cause issues.

  • JoshBBornstein Josh Bornstein (@JoshBBornstein) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

yet another round of tax cuts isn’t going to help people on Newstart or the low wage crisis or the climate change crisis or a properly funded ABC or fixing the NBN

  • TonyB_Melb TonyB (@TonyB_Melb) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Kynes3 Yep...ran it lots of times, always the same. Just now it's showing: NBN 11.32/0.92 ADSL 8.65/0.86 It sucks.

  • LapTop006 Julien Goodwin (@LapTop006) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well that sucked, after replacing all the cable all the way to the splitter the tester showed great signal, but NBN didn't like it.

  • DikeosJohn John Dikeos (@DikeosJohn) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@TheTechDudeAU @Telstra_news @Telstra Clearly I’m being sarcastic giving them shit about their horrible service which nobody should be paying for. Got connected to nbn last week and it’s been down the past 2 days. Before this issue when we connected with them 2 years ago we were paying for 3 months and had no interne

  • julianprice_ Julian Price (@julianprice_) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus, help! My nbn isn’t working. I’ve tried the old “off and on again” trick and I can’t see any outages in my area. Can’t get through to technical support “too busy”.

  • G1NCHY g1nchy 🌏 (@G1NCHY) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jendudley You forgot to @Telstra and @NBN_Australia. I don't feel so bad now, at least @optus replied to my tweets.

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • GregLomas1 Greg Lomas (@GregLomas1) reported

@NBN_Australia I just checked my nbn billing and I may have to start paying in a few more months. Who's the next service provider that will sell to me based on information provided by you guys rather than facts? I don't like paying for under-performing services

  • Liverpool_8 James (@Liverpool_8) reported

Anyone have any experience with how good or bad satellite NBN is?

  • inluv41D alyssa • track 3&9 on NH3 • check 📌 (@inluv41D) reported

@alwayslt28 NBN sucks tbh. everything was fine before they came along

  • TylerConstable1 Tyler (@TylerConstable1) reported

@NBN_Australia Is anyone else having issues getting an NBN box set up/nbn appointment through their provider? Set up my internet over a week ago and still keep getting the same response saying “we can’t organise a time as NBN’s scheduling service isn’t working at the moment”

  • theluciebee Lucie 'just wear the f***ing mask' Bee (@theluciebee) reported

We can't get the NBN here and frankly that's not my issue. I knew that already. We've had a broadband modem with Optus whose service has been a bit (A LOT) sketch & they've effectively chosen now to inform us that there's sweet **** all they can do. Faaaantastic.

  • AlisterAir Alister (@AlisterAir) reported

@NewtonMark There were a few good moments in 2010-2013, but mostly those moments were forced on the ALP. The PBO, CEFC, and also the second-go FTTP NBN (until Turnbull killed it). But for me, the RSPT is the textbook example of how bad they are - a good policy killed by rank cowardice.

  • GregLomas1 Greg Lomas (@GregLomas1) reported

@NickRossTech I just checked my nbn billing and I may have to start paying in a few more months. $2000 credit seemed to disappear way quicker than I expected. Who's the next service provider that will sell to me based on information provided by nbn rather than facts?

  • CannabisFairy69 Dezza Murphy ... Retweeted ... (@CannabisFairy69) reported

@Kynes99 @parker_vmg3 Our ISP recently slowed our 40/100 HFC connection to 20/100, or I had to pay $20/m more for the old speed. BTW, the exact same part numbers are on replaced components as what was installed 20yr ago and it still goes down when windy/raining... 😳 #NBN #auspol

  • parker_vmg3 @murdochs_monkey (@parker_vmg3) reported

@CannabisFairy69 @Kynes99 yes. the NBN is a worthless piece of crap. The stock price is the only thing that they worry about. IP's are a fraud.

  • TPG_Telecom TPG (@TPG_Telecom) reported

@CoogeeUtdChris Hi Chris, your current adsl service will still work until NBN is installed. -Daisy
