Service providers should be required to authenticate a customer before disclosing whether an address is experiencing: - nbn outage - mobile outage - power outage Currently anyone can search a home or business address and find out if there's an outage. #cybersecurity #auspol

  • nlarkin_photo Nathan Larkin (@nlarkin_photo) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @Optus! There has been an #NBN service fault for the last 2 days.. Any chance you might know when it will be resolved?

  • AustraliaPM Prime Minister of Australia News (@AustraliaPM) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@LJPatton @MRowlandMP You know I get the point. You're backtracking. Shades of gaslighting. We agree the #nbn is **** an needs fixing. I say the tactics they are employing are expensive, pointless bandaids. You think they're wonderful. Agree to disagree.

  • pyrexflask Pyrex Flask (@pyrexflask) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    @iiNet is there a 5g NBN outage in 3182?

  • AL88MZ アルちゃま🦋✡️🗝️🎀🛸💫💎🧨🥊🐸🍭 (@AL88MZ) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Just got off the phone with my ISP's tech support and they reckon it will be a 4 - 8 hour downtime. They couldn't gather additional info from the NBN either (Who announced the unscheduled downtime.), which isn't really good news.

  • dotrat James M 🐀 'Just a guest here' (@dotrat) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Just heard the NBN CEO bonus number. Are you sitting down? $697,000. Six hundred ninety seven thousand dollars bonus. Wtf?

  • justinjonesblog Justin Jones (@justinjonesblog) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@BenSmee @Optus I was in this boat a few months back. After rebooting my router numerous times, they booked a NBN technician to come and have a look. And then I found reset button on my NBN box and it fixed the problem. I’ve since added Optus Technician to my resume.

  • _TimMcMahon Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@vertikar @NBN_Australia @Telstra Yeah, 4G. No 5G coverage in this part of Melbourne. I wish I didn't have to use a SIM from another telco to get 20+ Mbps. Telstra 4G backup is about 0.16 Mbps down with a Smart Modem. We just tether phones during work hours for video calls or sharing would be too slow.

  • kelseyvh @kelseyvh (@kelseyvh) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @Optus I’m having nbn service issues. Your online messaging service is not responding. You network status page says “under investigation” and has said that for three days. I’ve sent you a DM but no response there either.

  • dazcoull dazcoull (@dazcoull) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia my FTTP service went out a while ago. Tarneit, VIC 3029. Did not come back and no reports of outages. Power cycled devices of course. ISP informed but of course out of support hours. Any news?

  • raymond3020 Adam Gemmell (@raymond3020) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus talk about impossible to contact you to find out why my nbn is not working. Happy to give my data away but not help.

  • _TimMcMahon Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@vertikar @NBN_Australia @Telstra I received an SMS later to expect 4 days of no internet. 💀 I've got a backup service running at full speed through another telco. Best not to put all our eggs in one basket if nbn HFC and Telstra mobile are both unusable while WFH. 🥵 Fortunate that there's overlapping coverage.

  • debge01 George DeBono⚫️🟡⚫️🐅🏆 (@debge01) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Working from home would be so much easier if we had a reliable internet service - the @NBN_Australia is a borderline 3rd world service - I get almost hourly drop outs

  • _TimMcMahon Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    @NBN_Australia @Telstra Ended up being a <12 hour outage instead of 4 days. 🥳

  • raymond3020 Adam Gemmell (@raymond3020) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@optus nbn cable offline. Can’t contact you at all via chat or technical difficulties. #fail #optusfail

  • asadiceiu Asaduz Zaman (@asadiceiu) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Do you really have an NBN connection (I did not)? Even if you have one, try getting through their customer service and you'll know that an overly friendly guy with a thick accent is not working for NBN

  • _TimMcMahon Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@vertikar @NBN_Australia @Telstra The irony in Telstra workers having Optus and Vodafone services for continuity just in case nbn and Telstra mobile go down. 😬

  • julieptorres21 Juls Torres (@julieptorres21) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus The fault persists for more than 2 hours in the NBN service.

another midnight NBN outage with absolutely zero info on the @TPG_Telecom website because it's 2021 and the internet is still viewed here as a geek novelty that no one really needs

  • Sam080416 Warwick Davis (@Sam080416) reported

@PaulFletcherMP You delivered a dud. Your NBN (No Blooody Network) is slower than my old broadband connection. I did not know "buffering" until the No Bloody Netwofk took over. I think I am on the second fastest tier. Your No Bloody Network gets over loaded: 1930 hours, 2045, even 2330

  • TickHogan Tick (@TickHogan) reported

@johnb78 I would have to be one of the very few people who can claim my internet service actually went backwards after NBN. The skymuster service is terrible, bloody expensive and drops out. I am not remote, only outer suburbs. On it because of hilly terrain, and no fixed service.

  • JohnnyLydon Johnny (@JohnnyLydon) reported

@PaulFletcherMP Three years to get nbn internet that is less reliable than the old adsl internet is a massive fail. We get intermittent dropouts but luckily Bigpond gives us free 4G backup. Faster cheaper better my arse.

  • professorponzi Jude (@professorponzi) reported

@AlboMP Morrison and the LNP will claim how ‘they fixed’ and ‘how great’ the NBN is now. But the reality is - Australians have seen how **** it is first hand! The LNP pretty much ****** it. They can lie, but good luck fooling people on this one.

  • StevenWoosnam Steven Woosnam (@StevenWoosnam) reported

@AlboMP The Labor Government should never have stuck their noses into the NBN in the first place. The last thing we need is you clowns trying to fix it. Just sell it along with the ABC

  • Laughatsaltyge1 Laughatsaltygeelong (@Laughatsaltyge1) reported

@RodChapple They forget that the beginning of nbn was to connect remote and rural tasmania was 1st getting nbn and rural my cousin had fibre to her house middle of nowhere and has banging internet super fast. Never craps out like my other house has crap hardly works and stops when rains

  • Chutzpahx Victor #AlboforPm (@Chutzpahx) reported

@PaulFletcherMP @AlboMP @NBN_Australia What copper fantasy are you on about ...everyone knows your lot rooted up the NBN ! If you think that's a winning ticket in your electorate your mad.... LNP worst government in Australian History roots everything it touches!

  • 76019818 bella (@76019818) reported

@DawsonEJ I’m trying to hang on to cable but have been told I have to have the NBN. 😱😱😱

  • billjoemick Michael Brennan (@billjoemick) reported

@MikeCarlton01 After 8 years and $56B public are not that stupid to think Labor can fix the NBN with just $2.5B. #auspol
