Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Geelong and nearby locations:
  • KathyReid Kathy Reid, Servant of House Corgi (@KathyReid) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

Summary: we almost-delivered an obsolete network not fit for purpose and now we're struggling with finding a way to make it valuable as a private asset and service our debt, and raise capital to rebuild it post-2020 instead of it being made a public utility #NBN #NBN2

  • tonywalker1 Antony (Tony) Walker (@tonywalker1) reported from Fenwick, State of Victoria

Good Q. Down here in Seachange given up on the NBN. Use Telstra 4G box. Not good enough. NBN imposed.

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

@Henjam48 @JaneCaro @TonyAbbottMHR @NBN_Australia They’ve been set up to fail. Like most entities that are answerable to govt. The person responsible for it all is JWH. Had Telstra not been sold in the first place, it would have continued to upgrade its network and we may not have needed an NBN on the scale the ALP envisaged.

  • 75b0ce8567df4cd Dave Wood (@75b0ce8567df4cd) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

And 3 out of 4 premises are now capable of connecting to the NBN! Well that is at your own risk! It's just more bullshit from government and ISP companies to scam more money from anyone stupid enough to opt for this NBN CRAP!

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

My internet is still not working and @Optus cannot explain to me why. It is capable of chats that are kingdom of lies apportioning blame to @NBN_Australia for matters such as usernames and provisioning that do not concern it. Still waiting for about 8 promised call backs.

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

@Kynes3 It’s a disgrace but I’m not surprised. They sold off Telstra and then NBN has to pay it ridiculous money to have access to infrastructure that belonged to us. Would never have needed the NBN if Telstra wasn’t privatized as it was open door policy to not spend money on maintenance

  • cliverpugh Clive Pugh (@cliverpugh) reported from Geelong, State of Victoria

For a communications company @NBN_Australia sucks. For 3 weeks I have been asking for a review of the installation of a node outside my house. I will accept the outcome but all I requested was a review before works began. Not one person has called. Ignoring is not communicating

  • tonywalker1 Antony (Tony) Walker (@tonywalker1) reported from Barwon Heads, State of Victoria

All I can say about the wretched NBN down here in Seachange it's slower than dial-up, a bit like cold congealed porridge morning after, actually...

  • lukasm Luke Meehan (@lukasm) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

My home ADSL is getting so bad I’m honestly looking forward to changing to cable internet when the multi tech mess NBN makes it to my area next year

  • crudeoilpeak Crude Oil Peak (@crudeoilpeak) reported

@abcnews @luciastein_ The latest problem forced on us is the power consumption of these black NBN boxes. And if you have a landline you also need to keep the power on for your router/modem even if you don't use the internet, It's all bad design

  • AnthS4ba S4BA (@AnthS4ba) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@NBN_Australia currently can’t connect to the internet for no ****** reason except that there are random ****** outages in Sydney. Internet will connect for few minutes and then off it goes again. Thanks @NBN_Australia you worthless piece of shit.

  • CannabisFairy69 DezR "The Quiet Trailblazer" #Cannabis-Fair-ee (@CannabisFairy69) reported

Our dodgy NBN goes down a bit more than it probs should - but thankfully our ISP sends emails to advise us it’s not working!! ... 🤔 👉🏽 after we notice it’s down, I connect to a 3/4G service and retrieve the email telling us it’s not working ... 😳 😂🤪😂🤪 bwahahar!! #auspol

  • Steve_Pinel Steve, but who’s counting. (@Steve_Pinel) reported

@kels_316 It was the fundamental flaw in the NBN. And it’s why we will continue to have shit internet for another 20-30 years.

  • Steve_Pinel Steve, but who’s counting. (@Steve_Pinel) reported

@kels_316 Well, yes, which matters as far as the NBN plan goes. The current plan, which requires a profit, can only result in excessive prices & poor service. /1

  • craznar Christopher Burke (@craznar) reported

@NickRossTech @LeithVanOnselen On ABB, my NBN HFC connection only suffers from reliability issues, never speed issues. Always running at >90Mbps down and > 30Mbps up. That is - when it is running, which can be not at all for weeks at a time.

  • craznar Christopher Burke (@craznar) reported

@NickRossTech @LeithVanOnselen Whilst I agree the NBN is trash, there are couple of things to be wary of. 1. The path from customer to server changes with the NBN vs Telstra Cable. 2. The maximum speed test result on a 100/40Mbps NBN is 96/38.4 Mbytes/second due to packet overhead.

  • DarkArtsLock Dark Arts Lock Picking (@DarkArtsLock) reported

@fondrenlock Sorry Jason. Our internet has slowed right down for some reason. It wants to take 2 hours to upload a 19 minute video. So that's why I couldn't stream tonight. It is faster to use my phone data then the NBN.

  • AnUncleanHippy A Dead Hippy (@AnUncleanHippy) reported

@LunarDarkling All you need to know about the LNP, and why they are slowly killing this country, is to see why they killed the NBN. They do not care about Australia, they care about making money in their lifetime, saying "**** it, she'll be right", and dying.
