@_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

@dmccann65 @Ballyurra @slsandpet Thanks for the NBN rant, I’m well aware of its shortcomings.. but she asked for an alternative provider since Telstra are refusing to help her perform any troubleshooting. Superloop will help her with this

@rexster Indeed, my initial reason to order Starlink for suburban Adelaide was as a backup Internet path because NBN over HFC has no in-street battery backup. My house has a battery, the NBN HFC network doesn't :(

@NBN_Australia Why can’t NBN fix my connection. First drops of rain and it drops out. Talked to ISP and they were told by NBN it isn’t consistent enough. Try working from home when your internet drops out. Frustrated!!!

@NBN_Australia I am on the phone with them now @superloopnet and they tell me you won’t take the case. Constant unplanned and planned outages during business hours. Sometimes for fixing power issues which could be done after hours. Stop your lies

@helphelpandhelp @ejfuente @DanaScully2 If you don't need the landline you can just go wireless. I had the same issues as you so I dumped the NBN. Half the price for a better service.

@NBN_Australia What. Croc. Can’t get an NBN connection tand no one at NBN cares. You can never speak to anyone from NBN directly. A classic example of a virtual monopoly designed to exploit the vulnerable and hold us all to ransom.

@Go_pies2013 Hi again, C. As mentioned via private message, for nbn to assist you with service issues your provider must raise a service request to nbn on your behalf. This is not a case specifically but a specialised request via our internal systems. 1/5

@NBN_Australia @QReconstruction Hi NBN everytime it begins to rain my parents NBN drops out… I asked @Optus to help and they said their needs to be 5 drop outs for NBN to consider this an issue? Our concern is that my parents are elderly and require the connection- NBN should be reliable but it’s not.
