@_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

@EsotericSpod I reckon here in SA Optus have more towers and better coverage, or at least that was my experience about two years ago. I had TPG for NBN, they were good. No problem.

@PaulHenry524 Aussie BB have recorded message this morning saying Covid has impacted wait times. I've been waiting since Thursday for @nbn_australia to come and fix their storm damaged wires in my garden. Technician was on his way this morning, then called to say job had been cancelled.

@CatgirlFingies as far as home internet goes, mate NBN is better, for mobile phone plan aldi's good. though that is coming from "the best customer service interaction is to not have to interact with the customer service line", because they both just work and when they don't get fixed fast
