    @_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

    @dmccann65 @Ballyurra @slsandpet Thanks for the NBN rant, I’m well aware of its shortcomings.. but she asked for an alternative provider since Telstra are refusing to help her perform any troubleshooting. Superloop will help her with this

    @DannySauter I asked Capt Farmer at the last NBN meeting why SF can't issue 172 tickets, impound 12 cars, serve 4 warrants at a Sideshow, like San Jose did at their last Sideshow and Capt Farmer said with absolute straight face "Our city doesn't like to entrap people!" - I kid you not.

    @Tayzlor @NBN_Australia @elonmusk CBDs were served by fibre well before NBN was ever dreamt up. Unis also had fibre - AARNet. The problem was residential, the failing copper, poor Optus cable. Unfortunately the market was doing nothing as Telstra controlled it all.

    @TMFScottP In NZ, retail and wholesale arms were sold off separately and they now have speeds we can only dream of. Telstra invested years in fighting with the govt rather than building good and available infrastructure. NBN wouldn’t have been necessary if we had gone down the NZ path.

    @NBN_Australia @AlboMP DM sent, be nice if someone at your company would do something rather than talking about potentially doing something! 100,000 new machines in 12 months in 1 state, April. There needs to be a class action against NBN Co. Forget the safety issues , how about the economic effect!

    @Tayzlor @NBN_Australia @elonmusk Telstra should have structurally separated with the infrastructure part doing the roll out with some gov funding, but telstra under Sol wouldn't participate. NZ telecom did just that and their speeds keep increasing as network keeps making money to fund upgrades

    @ChandAshok At the direction of LNP. That's the critical bit of info. This write off is purely down to LNP taking a sound investment and trying to reuse old tech never intended for high speed broadband #nbn
