  @_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

  @dmccann65 @Ballyurra @slsandpet Thanks for the NBN rant, I’m well aware of its shortcomings.. but she asked for an alternative provider since Telstra are refusing to help her perform any troubleshooting. Superloop will help her with this

  @AynRandPaulRyan The back up battery in my NBN box on the wall (that’ll be a technical term) went after two years despite never, to my knowledge, being used. It beeped until I was a shivering, sobbing mess. The new ones are around $40 in specialist battery shops.

  @glenngpage Once fault tickets are raised to nbn, nbn will reply the provider its results. If the provider accepts the outcome or doesn't respond, nbn will assume they provider no longer requires support. 2/3

  My #NBN is dead again! A technician will come tomorrow. This is the 3rd time someone had to come & fix it since I had it installed only 12months ago. (I know multiple ppl that lost internet connection this week) Can #Scomo do something useful & prioritise this first?

  @RossFloate @noplaceforsheep Indeed. And the cable network they use, getting all the best frequency bands that would be otherwise perfect for internet, was the one Telstra one that is now the NBN HFC one.

  Don't we just love our below 3rd world internet system. No useable internet at home for three days. Efforts to contact @Telstra and @NBN_Australia total fail. I can use my cell phone in a shopping centre though...what gives Telstra?

  One week since I made it into the 21st century and the NBN is still working fine. Only problem is my graphics card is now dying every time I try to use it with any nVidia driver. Whether it be Windows or Ubuntu, most recent or known working; that’s a dead card. Yay for 1Hz!
