@_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

@dmccann65 @Ballyurra @slsandpet Thanks for the NBN rant, I’m well aware of its shortcomings.. but she asked for an alternative provider since Telstra are refusing to help her perform any troubleshooting. Superloop will help her with this

3...I asked if I could call him back and he gave me the real 1800 NBN Tower number address in Melb., which made me think that he really was legit. So, I call the Tech help line for Aussie Broadband. She told me NBN would never contact a customer direct...4

@qewperp @melaniedoak It’s an election tactic designed to wedge ALP. Followed with attacks via scomo slogans. The smart thing is support with conditions. It’s the same as Dutton war mongering. It allows them to attack labour for been sympathetic, NBN/$$, Tamper/Nauru/soft on boats

@jdrama68 I found the support great, they also let you know ahead any planned NBN outages, also if they get cancelled. I’m on a lower plan but speed always as per plan. Much better than iprimus where the Broadband speed was so poor and support is local. Prices competitive

Hey @NBN_Australia any chance your going to fix your issues in Everton Park 4053 any time this year. Three weeks of drop outs and your outage page says no works planned in the next 10 days.

Had to run an extension cord across the house to get the NBN box and wifi going to watch netflix. First world issues though as we could have hotspotted from phone.

@DoctorKarl Shannon-Hartley theorem yields the maximum amount of error-free digital data that can be transmitted over a communications channel with a specified bandwidth in the presence of noise. Copper S/N ratio is pretty well understood; Your NBN doesn’t just suck, it sucks with science.

@newstoall @BelongAU @MobileMuster1 I'd cancel the service. Ive waited 1 month for a connection. 10 minute call to NBN and the problem is obvious. Belongs response is that they are working on it and wait another 24-48 hrs... not good enough.

Hot tip if you are in Canberra and @iiNet offer their wireless NBN service - run! Pretty dreadful service, cannot stream TV and be on the computer at the same time. No response to emails, and their customer service line has a one hour wait 🤬
