May the farce be with you (@Adam_Dorain) reported from Halls Gap, Victoria@dmccann65 @Ballyurra @slsandpet Thanks for the NBN rant, I’m well aware of its shortcomings.. but she asked for an alternative provider since Telstra are refusing to help her perform any troubleshooting. Superloop will help her with this

Matt Furlong (@matticus_flinch) reported from Halls Gap, Victoria@_thomasparkes @NBN_Australia Yep - starlink (and similar services in US) appear to be the primary use case. It's a per-device service; I'm using it to access a Raspberry Pi server. Setup involves installing wireguard and configuring a tunnel to the endpoint.

Andrew (@asphotos) reportedYou’re not trying to do remote IT support to the mother in law on their stupidly slow 12/1mbps NBN FTTC plan 4hrs drive away and it keeps dropping you out? Sad! **ARGHHH

Bennyboy1 (@bennyyy_boyyy) reported@Starlink Update: customer care sent me the kit via express post and gave $25 credit. Installation went ahead smoothly as per schedule and very happy so far. No more crap NBN that Telstra put up their prices to $115 per month for 50mbps but my Starlink gives me 100mbps for $75 per month

DBMG 🇦🇺 (@dbmgreen) reported@Peter_Fitz I was a Young Lib at UWA. Tea & Fairy Bread with Mal Fraser @ Sir Charles house. Volunteered. I was sliding but NBN was the last straw. AUS needed a statesman we got Abbott. :( Volunteer for an independant now. Unlikely to support libs ever again. If they are around that is.

Andrew Godman (@Andrew_Godman) reported@onurcam @tzk1810 Kinda slow compared to fibre. Misses the point that Tony screwed the nbn and ended up spending just as much as a fibre network was going to end up being
-
Paysker (@payskerapp) reported@7NewsSydney @grok can you explain how a traditional landline can still call with no power, even though each telephony service is handed off from an NBN NTU, or DSLAM?
-
Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported@RobertW51136192 @Slav636 The cross subsidy is exactly the point. NBN was never the right solution for outer suburbs.
-
DissentingSkeptic (@DissentingS) reportedSpeed is latency. No satellite connection is "high speed" sick of the disinformation. Starlink is 20ms-40ms+ latency like mobile garbage is. NBN is a whopping 600ms latency. They need to keep this junk away from fibre areas where I get 2ms latency and have had since 2022.

Heilagt 🇦🇺 (@scrdeclxpse) reported@ruicharadrius Getting my NBN done and paying $99 a month for 62mb internet, just to have one of my overseas mates talk about his internet of 150mb being slow so he switched to gigabit. Absolute ****** travesty, shameful is what it is.

Russell Drysdale :#Do Noble Deeds. (@Russputin2) reported@Chriskenny_sky Do they not let current News into the SkyNews cesspit Chris. Do you want us to crowd fund a full Fibre NBN service for you?
