  Using an @nokia 2.3 on the @amaysimAU (@Optus) network, regularly get (much) better @Speedtest results than using same device on @NBN_Australia networks.

  @mheywood88 @JohnRHewson I had that problem in my old address. One of the pits was at the bottom of a hill, so it filled with rain water. Each time, a tech would advise that the pit was OK (when it wasn't raining) It only got fixed when NBN crew broke the pit requiring it to be rebuilt ....

  I’ve been advised it’s possible NBN Co will cancel and rebook the technician, just to amend the address on the job. An address they were given documentation to amend at least a month ago, and which I was assured occurred.

  @Hammyhamster10 @TurnbullMalcolm Having a great time with the NBN getting choked and my connection all but disappearing. All the while being told the NBN isn’t down by Telstra. Joke - and a pretty poor one at that.

  @Telstra After not getting service 2yrs I’ve paid for full package,foxtel which I rarely can use cause there is no internet .. after 22 yrs of being a customer they said I have 2 choices .. wait 3-4 months for nbn to be connected and get $20 off my bill ... or leave !!!!!

  My home NBN connection went down sometime between 2am and 8.30am on Monday. The internet is still out, more than 24 hours later. I don’t know why or when it will be back. I live less than 10 minutes out of the Bendigo CBD.

  @ChrisEconomist 2/2 The true scale of the off-budget disaster will only be clear when someone aggregates the retained losses across all these investments, as companies do in their financial statements. I've never seen this done, but if the NBN is any guide, the total would be staggering.

  @TopherField I have a conspiratorial hypothesis that may interest you regarding NBN The backbone of the Australian military communications at home was a rotting copper wire network and needed to be replaced, but pitching the Australian public on spending billions on military getting a communications upgrade was a hard sell So instead the two majors went at each other on two different versions of the same dumb idea, fiber to the premises vs fiber to the node Now we have ****** fiber optics speeds because it's being speed capped with software, and ironically NBN is the same old HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) technology that Foxtel had installed for years 🫠

  @showcallcrewing @NBN_Australia I do not know. I use iiNET, they responded well, once i was able to talk to them. I did ask for a refund for the days I have no service. So they promised to fix it within 24 hours. I also made notes, and responded to their feedback email, and summarised my notes.

  @immyonboard @Telstra If you are talking about NBN, there are many choices of ISPs that are superior to Telstra. If you need mobile, anyone on the Vodafone network is probably the best (seems to be the most reliable of the 3 networks)

  @RyanJones6980 @Starlink @starlink is only AU$10/month more than NBN plan in my area (regional NSW). It cost me $300 up front to connect to the NBN, and it's been heartache since then. Those in my local area have not reported any issues since connecting several years ago.

  ******* perfect. Set up some remote spot instances to distribute some compute. Set up Claude to monitor and tear down when finished. Quick health probe to make sure everything is fine, about to log off for the night and NBN outage hits immediately. Could not be worse timing

  @NBN_Australia Here I am almost 2 weeks later and still regular interruptions while NBN lists our address as subject to network degradation. I have contacted my provider and they then check with NBN and I am told work is ongoing. But nothing gets fixed!!!!

  @NBN_Australia My internet is still regularly broken. I constantly report the problems to my provider. Who asks me to wait while they check with NBN. And says you tell them work is ongoing but that no estimate is available for when this will be fixed!!! Thanks for the runaround
