Emma D'Agostino (@amassedmedia) reported from Bendigo, VictoriaMy home NBN connection went down sometime between 2am and 8.30am on Monday. The internet is still out, more than 24 hours later. I don’t know why or when it will be back. I live less than 10 minutes out of the Bendigo CBD.

Geoff Day (@GeoffDay4) reported from Bendigo, Victoria@mheywood88 @JohnRHewson I had that problem in my old address. One of the pits was at the bottom of a hill, so it filled with rain water. Each time, a tech would advise that the pit was OK (when it wasn't raining) It only got fixed when NBN crew broke the pit requiring it to be rebuilt ....

Emma D'Agostino (@amassedmedia) reported from Bendigo, VictoriaI’ve been advised it’s possible NBN Co will cancel and rebook the technician, just to amend the address on the job. An address they were given documentation to amend at least a month ago, and which I was assured occurred.

It’s cheaper to pay to use the NBN infrastructure that is already there than to lay down their own fibre. In fact, telcos like Optus and Telstra are already NBN providers.

Anyone who actually believes in the NBN is as brainwashed as a Putin supporter. Starlink has made the NBN largely redundant for non gaming purposes, and the 5G network is already 3 times faster and both cost taxpayers exactly $0.00. Dave Jones (@eevblog) reportedNBN Update: "Cable works are progressing. The fibre cable was installed between the two manholes early this morning and the site has been made safe. Due to traffic control requirements, work has temporarily paused and will recommence under day Road Occupancy Licences between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Cable preparation works began earlier at 3:30am, with splicing scheduled to commence this afternoon. Customer restoration is expected to be completed later today. NBN will continue to monitor progress and provide further updates as they become available."

After the Turnbull NBN debacle and massive cost blowouts we still have inferior IT infrastructure. My internet is slow but works OK, however ph reception is woeful and I'm 40'ks from the coast of seventh largest city.
