Telstra’s special skill is to charge twice for the same nbn or phone line or even entertainment AND make it impossible for customers to get any customer assistance!

NBN contractors damaged my unit and then redid the installation by laying cable on the garage floor. You're right about lazy, they take easy way irrespective of what it looks like. I've lodged a complaint but wait with baited breath.

The OP is claiming the NBN is obsolete. It is nothing of the sort, and the bandwidth disparity is the entire reason why, and that isn't changing anytime soon, as you say.

anthony, underclass prole cat, edwards (@anthony45052793) reported@KymRob25112 compared to NBN setup, book installer, wait two weeks, installer fails to show, rebook, wait another two weeks, installer shows up, signal has to be bounced of barn roof, then wait another 4 weeks for NBN co to process it. so two months for nbn vs two hours for starlink.

Brent Hodgson (@BrentHodgson) reported@geofiasco @DHughesy @aaronsmith Aside: Whether the Telstra sale was ultimately a windfall is contested. It raised $60bn to sell the assets, then we spent $60bn on NBN Co just to regain access to the assets sold and duplicate/upgrade the network we sold - and Telstra has paid something like $80-85bn in shareholder dividends along the way. In many respects, NBN shouldn't exist. It should have been the $80-85bn in "shareholder dividends" to the Public Owner that paid for the fibres to be laid - not a $60bn investment after a $60bn sale. But NBN was forced to be created after a now-shareholder-owned Telstra responded to how it might build a national broadband network with a non-compliant 12 page letter effectively saying "we won't - the copper wires are our privately-owned monopoly and we want to protect our market monopoly".

So government response to this is to spend more dollars on their unworkable rubbish. I can't think of a better argument why big government needs to go

There is not a wireless system in existence that could carry the existing load of the NBN, let alone future needs. Talk to a network engineer, please.
