    @lachiemc64 I’m told we’ve no choice now FRAUDBAND is in our area. So much for lnp’s free market bullshit. Only when it suits their greedy parasitic mates. ADSL, though slow, never drops out although I note Telstra will still charge like the “Light Brigade” to fix the loose copper to my home

    @Matt_Camenzuli I report to you sleeping in my car using a Telstra pay phone free Internet hotspot. **** is far far far more dire than most wish to wake up to. I see it every night when others are comfy in bed in a home. Far more people are living tough than anyone realises — they ‘come out’ once people ‘go in’ — because otherwise they get told to move on.     The rapidly advancing Starlink system should scare any Australian Telco. I hope the Telstra monopoly on the market gets broken up to the point that they're forced to lower prices. The service we get for Telstra, considering how much we pay is a joke. Any company that moves its operations overseas purely because labour is cheaper deserves to be outcompeted by companies that actually invest in local jobs, innovation, and customer service. If your entire business model relies on cutting wages instead of building a better product, don't be surprised when someone with better technology comes along and makes you irrelevant. Consumers shouldn't be expected to pay premium prices for declining service while executives celebrate another cost cutting exercise.
