David Burns: 35+ years across Telstra and IBM, most recently leading Telstra's entire Australian B2B and international portfolio. His mandate, per the release: own the journey "from customer order to live operational capacity". Co-founder Andrew Leece moves to a dedicated Strategic Partnerships role, founder-level care for the biggest relationships. Read the pattern, not just the hire: new CFO in July. New Chief Legal Officer in July. Now a heavyweight COO in August. Fourth senior addition in five weeks. A company with $8.8B in contracts and 212MW to deliver isn't hiring to SELL anymore. It's hiring to DELIVER. The bottleneck moved, and management is staffing the bottleneck. The honest line: executive hires are capacity, not revenue. The proof stays where it always was: deployments accepted, escrows released, rent flowing. But you don't poach the Telstra Enterprise boss to run a small book. I'm long $SHAZ. NFA. DYOR.

    @PeterD84508 @DHughesy You idiot. Both sides of parliament agreed to sell. It was costing Australians hundreds of millions as a public service model. If Telstra was government owned now we’d be further down a hole.

Three-quarters of the $96 billion paid down under Howard (~$71.8bn) came from one-time public asset selloffs - including Telstra, Commonwealth Bank, DASFLEET, defence assets, Brisbane Airport, Melbourne Airport, Perth Airport, National Rail, Adelaide Airport, Darwin and Alice Springs Airports, Canberra Airport, Hobart Airport, the Australian Industry Development Corporation, Broadcast Australia (transmission towers)... A lot of those assets were sold at knock-down prices too - e.g. Broadcast Australia was sold at $650m, then the buyer sold it for twice that shortly after.
