mark mcdonell π π π (@mcdonellaussie) reported from Numurkah, Victoria@janice_martin5 3 hours just a little less time then it would take to get someone at Telstra to talk to ya. (Not necessarily the person who could help that would be 3 days if ya lucky).

I no longer use @Telstra or @Optus because of the call centres.

Mal Peters (@peters_malcolm) reportedTelstra faces outage investigation as expert says legal gaps may let it off- abc The debate when Telstra was privatised was it was a critical piece of Australiaβs security, should not be on private hands. This reinforces the case. Thank you Barnaby

david bennett (@Davidus_Rex) reportedTelstra admits its entire network has a single point of failure, a 20yo time server connected to GPS. It failed, taking out thousands of customers, business, railways, etc. Imagine that on a global scale, triggered by one single satellite collision. Just waiting to happen.

***** Fitch (@FannyFitch) reported@blakandblack yep, they use lazy, lazy scapegoating. here and now example : while tech experts trace the Telstra outage to internal hardware and software issues, Barnaby baselessly blames China for foreign interference. Cheap scapegoating, dog whistling their base, rather than real solutions.

Dr. Madeleine M. zzzz π (@maddy_el) reported@MikeCarlton01 @Telstra Donβt believe they did nothing but they were far too slow to respond. When the risk analysis says the problem is urgent, donβt faff around

David Marler (@Qldaah) reportedListen to me. Telstra CEO Vicky Brady losing her job might make you feel better but it won't help improve the system. I've seen this scenario play out multiple times throughout my ITC career. Someone else comes in & it's Snakes & Ladders. Listen to the technicians. #auspol

Driver_x_oz (@driver_x_oz) reported@Anneeokeefe Hardly itβs that Telstra and VicTrack completely screwed up the communications network resilience and redundancy. If they had done their jobs properly this wouldnβt have happened.
