Palli Thordarson (@PalliThordarson) reported from Bowral, New South WalesApparently Telstra is now saying it wasn't an attack but an internal issue. Hope that is true. At least the issue has been fixed.

Martin Visser (@martyvis) reported from Yerrinbool, New South Wales@mverbloot @NBN_Australia @iiNet I don't think so. I've been delighted with the 50/20 service via copper. But something hit the aerial lead-in cable at 3:30 Monday morning 3 weeks ago. A neighbour on Telstra was restored within days but for some reason NBN can't supply a tech with a ladder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tyler Telfer (@Tyler83069242) reported@StephenKealy1 @blowingtom2 The next stuff up of Howards was privatising Telstra. The economic damage and inefficiency imposed on the Australian economy has been horrendous. Every household pays for that mess. The government had to then spend $60b to role out the broadband.

GregM (@Gmeister67) reported@WSWanderingEels @ardmorelad Yep Aus govt also own the NBN network who mainly use the Telstra network, amongst other smaller players. Everyone gets a drink

stevie (@stevie_builds) reported@robj3d3 @ThreeUK Same as what Jakey was saying. I was on Telstra (aussie), while i was in SEA. PAYG, and id still receive texts, but after 7-8 months they told me they were gonna cancel my plan because i hadnt recharged... luckily they planned to do that the day i got back, but if i just paid $30 to recharge after 7 months i guess that would have given me another 7 months...

𝕻𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖘𝖘 𝕾𝖐𝖞𝖑𝖆𝖗𝖚𝖘𝖎 © (@skylarusi) reported@the_LoungeFly @Telstra 1/2 I'm guessing there's an issue with privacy My messagebank was switched off without my consent When I called to get it switched back on the operator changed my plan I called asking for it to be reinstated (it was an obsolete plan) and spent a week arguing with a 'manager'...

Refused to escalate "Deprovisioning" of SIM cards unable to make calls to transmit data, demanding "samples" of calls to/from +1-408 by IBM and PARC from Military Classified numbers for over 10 years. Refused to comply with Data Sovereignty rules and to respect the classified nature of the "samples" they were requesting and I refused to provide till I am talking to a suitably qualified person or engineer calling from within Australia. Refused to comply with "Do not talk to computer scientists over insecure channels" rule. I then said "will not escalate till I provide samples", I explained "deprovisioned" is more than enough to escalate and samples to that end have been provided. Call put on mute, stayed silent for 5 mins then other end terminated call. AP

Dark Horse Christian (@D_H_Christian) reported@ProjVictoria @OMGTheMess Correct not all pay dividends .. usually those that do don’t grow much, take Telstra who pay dividends 2000 a share was $8 or so, 2025 it was about $4 a share. The poor who buy small amounts of metals, crypto or stocks are going to be stomped into the ground.. theft.. taking away peoples only hope of using that vehicle to home ownership.

Catherine (@Catheri09875779) reported@RennickGBR Telstra also 2026 (Enterprise Restructuring): Telstra announced major workforce restructures, cutting hundreds of enterprise and IT roles in Australia. A significant portion of this work and technical support was offshored to the Indian-based ICT firm Infosys and its joint venture with Accenture.

Snow Leopard (@SNOWFXINC) reported@SocialTubby @DaveTaylorNews As an aging Pro. Pretty much all of my clients in Longreach, Karratha or the Alice book me via Starlink. When I used to service the married Labor blokes in Marrickville, my Telstra mobile would be forever dropping out. Starlink is on an exponential trajectory.
