  @mverbloot @NBN_Australia @iiNet I don't think so. I've been delighted with the 50/20 service via copper. But something hit the aerial lead-in cable at 3:30 Monday morning 3 weeks ago. A neighbour on Telstra was restored within days but for some reason NBN can't supply a tech with a ladder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  Apparently Telstra is now saying it wasn't an attack but an internal issue. Hope that is true. At least the issue has been fixed.

Pre-launch growth reflected testing and opportunistic registrations. Population scale and disaster needs (e.g., earthquakes, ~20 tropical cyclones yearly) drive demand; Globe offered free access during a June 2026 Mindanao quake. Per-capita and frequency of use remained lower than Australia’s. Japan has the broadest free access (three operators) yet lowest sustained use.   @jswharton @lesstenny Costello sorted out labor’debt, privatized Telstra and a few more costly companies and went on ,now take fuckn notice!!!,11 consecutive surpluses,now it’s just reckless spending as the reserve bank says,labour has never and will not so equal that record

  @immyonboard @Telstra If you are talking about NBN, there are many choices of ISPs that are superior to Telstra. If you need mobile, anyone on the Vodafone network is probably the best (seems to be the most reliable of the 3 networks)

  @merchant_s35416 @Bender_Aus Privatising telecom was the right thing to do. And selling off Telstra was an even better idea. Both were drains in the economy. Trying to get telecom to fix anything used to be a pain in the butt. Look at NBN, over priced garbage. There's nothing wrong with a user pays system. Why should people in Horsham pay for a road they don't use in Melbourne?

  @DHughesy And how did they get debt down? Asset Sales. Sold off Telstra. Sold off the Commonwealth Bank. Sold off Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra Airports. Sold off Australian National Railway Assets. Not to mention the the two thirds of our gold reserves they sold.
