Shaun Ewing (@swewing) reported from Glenbrook, New South WalesWith @Telstra being down there’s no EFTPOS at my local shops. Couldn’t get cash from any of the ATMs as they’re all down too. Managed to withdraw cash at the post office to pay for groceries. Thanks for still providing that service @auspost - we’re not going to be cashless yet.
-
Joshua McKinnon (@corduroy) reported from Blaxland, New South WalesIs Telstra mobile really crap in the Mountains, or is it because I’m using a cheap reseller? I can rarely watch a 3m video without massive pauses, even with 2-3-4 bars of reception.

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Holyhekatuiteka (@2ETEKA) reported“Internal Telstra sources told The Sydney Morning Herald the outage was caused by a software bug triggered by a botched firmware upgrade, but Communication Workers Union national secretary Shane Murphy said the “utterly shameful” outage was a direct result of recent job cuts. More than 400 jobs were moved to Indian technology Infosys in February, and Ms Brady told Australian staff by email they could reapply with the India-based company or take a redundancy” Welcome to our future. More jobs will be offshored to India, our own Govt has dedicated webpages assisting NZ business to offshore to india “to take advantage of cheap labour” as an additional kick in the guts, National, Act and Labour are dead keen to swamp us with more Indian immigrants. BTW our Youth unemployment rate is now 17.1% Thanks again Te Gimp.

Luke Amott🇦🇺🐾🐶 (@luke_amott) reported@OMGTheMess Imagine if one nation was governing the country and the telecommunications minister was on holiday and Telstra went down. You guys would be screaming the dollar on holiday. You guys actually would be defending them. You’re nothing but hypocrites.

Emerging Eldar (@Simon51218177) reported@SkyNewsAust I hope the woman Telstra head, the woman Communications minister and the woman Ombudsman can fix this soon. Or maybe not make it worse?
-
Deborah Lyttle (@lyttle_deb9361) reportedHas Hughesy blamed the PM for the Telstra outage yet? No Angus Taylor took up that challenge. If the LNP stopped trying to make mischief for the govt and concentrated on getting a few policies underway they’d be a lot better off imo
-
Cam (@TheMayorOfSingo) reported@RayJCapo79 @Telstra Haven’t had a problem since it went back online but the Mrs has had trouble making mobile calls.
-
Michael Arter (@Michael_Arter) reported@BaggersFlaggers @JacintaAllanMP @VicLabour Telstra is a national company and so is the ARTC! They are the two companies that caused the VLine system to fail .
-
Ferrousoxide (@Ferrousoxi29174) reported@FetchStep @Telstra I don't expect Ministers to give press conferences every time there is a problem. Just let the engineers deal with it. Stop pandering to ( and thereby supporting) the ******* media leeches. We have given them too much power over us already.

mastodon.au/@macropin (@macropin) reported@QBCCIntegrity @Telstra Sounds like a classic corporate fail relying on a single stratum 1 time source. The NTP time system was designed to work reliably with time sourced from unreliable sources!
-
Trisha Astin (@AstinTrisha) reported@timritchie Me thinks, it's it strange "Starlink" has a big push and advertising campaign in Australia. and suddenly out of nowhere we have problems with Telstra..??

Shamim A (@Shamim_A28) reported@Sahar_A_Writes What a disgraceful hypocrite. Senator Sarah Henderson made a complete fool of herself about her Telstra antics on #AfteroonBriefing too. Thanks to this outage we learn that Sarah, Barnaby Joyce and Angus Taylor are all simply very stupid. #auspol
