Joshua McKinnon (@corduroy) reported from Blaxland, New South WalesIs Telstra mobile really crap in the Mountains, or is it because I’m using a cheap reseller? I can rarely watch a 3m video without massive pauses, even with 2-3-4 bars of reception.

Lionel Mandrake. (@Lionelmandrak13) reported@EvaFox it's not exactly low cost. But, as an Australian rural customer, it's worth every cent. What I love most about it is that is out performs the promised specs 90 percent of the time. The local NBN ( Fixed wireless through Telstra. NEVER worked at the spec they were selling EVER. it would be lucky to do half most of the time and that spec was Tragically bad. so YES, I pay more than the NBN but what I get is probably around 5 to 6 times the speed on average. its a no brainer.

OhHim! (@itsohhim) reported@Telstra currently experiencing an outage that won't be solved until Monday 6pm, due to NBN or Telstra technicians not working on weekend so I know where to send my complaint.

Byron Stol (@ByronStol) reportedThe NBN satellite goes down with no power, so I have to recharge the Telstra wireless dongle to have internet while I suffocate in the heat and dark.
-
Greg Bloomfield (@dadszoo) reportedHi @Telstra How is it possible that your site confirms no internet outage in my area... but NBN confirms an outage?
-
Ben Robson (@brobson_politic) reportedDear @NBN_Australia, I've now been without broadband Internet since Sunday night (~11:30pm), one of ~1,000 people in the Ferntree Gully area, relying on @Telstra's crappy 1Mbps backup 3G service for work-from-home. Any chance of you fixing the service we pay for (with service fees & taxes)? @Starlink is looking pretty good right now.
-
Ben Robson (@brobson_politic) reported@NBN_Australia @Telstra So @NBN_Australia has advised that they are having to replace damaged cabling and a power supply, which is requiring civil works (so who knows how long this outage is going to last? 🤷). On Sunday evening there was a power glitch in the area, that caused my lights to flicker and safety switch to trip, so evidently the NBN's infrastructure either caused the glitch or it's electrical protections suck.

JFK Whitlam (@JfkWhitlam) reported@FusionPartyAus @DesigningOpen @ACOSS With tax as a back stop for economic shocks Governments that steal public assets through fire sales, such as telstra The party should be held accountable for financial damage to the nation The NBN is the current public asset, that should be delivering cheaper internet
