@spannaforce Optus equipment has never been as good as Telstra's. And they only got to where they are because they're a competitor to Telstra. I worked for them between 1998 and 2000. They were quite arrogant about it.

@Optus it's pretty poor that 5 years ago you knew that your archaic billing system was vulnerable to low flying attacks yet your CISO did nothing to fix it. Someone changed my account details and yet you still denied there was a problem. I think I'm done.

@AndrewBGreene @Optus @ASDGovAu My 2c: 1) probably social engineering or bad passwords/weak protections or session hijack 2) nothing (as usual)&bet they have used "opt out of marketing" excuse to avoid telling many customers 3) got breached so what more once all personal details are grabbed 4) few hours maybe?

Not surprise @Optus has been hit by cyber attack , they have the worst security protection of customers personal details than any other telco. I’ve always had continual problems with my email been hacked , and to get it rectified is a marathon in itself with Optus
