Bad news: told by @Optus that my data had been breached. Good news: they managed to spell my name and address wrong.

@TMFScottP @thatmdee Good odds of Optus being worse. Their competitors have gone through huge structural overhauls and reviews over the past few years. Telstra with T22 and Voda, TPG with the merger. Optus is stale in structure and security. Will take over 12 months to fix that

@Optus worst service provider ..caused pain with #OptusHack and now blocked DVS for only identity available. Denying to bare passport replacement cost.

@Brooklyn20I Doesn't mean I'll be right, of course. But a decent chance no-one is throwing more at the issue than Optus right now...

@andrewbogut @Telstra Why would you hit your head against a brick wall Andrew? Tel$tra's help desk is designed to pi$$ you off and not call. If you must use a reseller otherwise go with an Optus reseller. A case of them being dumb and dumber

@TMFScottP Also, if an Optus customer had to change their ID documents, then Optus now no longer has useful copies of those documents even if they are hacked again.

Sent my phone back to @Optus for software issues, received it back with a cracked screen. Optus CS won't resolve - a great look after the breach

Your flagging this to Optus will help both you and Optus protect your identity as well as providing Optus a heads up. In my case, addressee not current Optus client and I’m inclined to say, nor former Optus client. Return letter to envelope and mark envelope “Return To Sender”

Now, in unrelated news to the Optus hack other than it feels like life would be easier without a phone, my iphone 12's microphone has stopped working on calls, apparently a known issue, but a huge hassle in my life at an impossible time to be without a phone.
