Optus Issues Reports

  • StephenChoular1 Stephen Choularton (@StephenChoular1) reported

I wonder why no one has mentioned apropos Optus that passwords can be encrypted in a way that they can NEVER be decrypted and put at risk. One would have thought it would be best practice.

  • mat_3rd Mathius of Gaff 🇺🇦🌻 (@mat_3rd) reported

@teyc @ProfPCDoherty Yep absolutely. There are plenty of things Optus could have done to make the data more secure. Laws as enacted in the EU imposing a massive fine for businesses which don’t keep data protected would also help.

  • brad_withyman Brad Withyman 🎯🌊🎱🇺🇦 (@brad_withyman) reported

@jaimyn_m Just to double down a lot more, @Optus offer victims a years subscription to @Equifax to monitor their stolen data. Equifax were found guilty of a Data-breach of 50mil customers. So far has cost them over $2billion in fines & compo.

  • JoshCarter_ JRC (@JoshCarter_) reported

@ServiceNSW hi there, if my NSW license used when I became an Optus customer has since been surrendered because I moved interstate, is it no longer an issue for me? As in it is not useable by anyone? I have a QLD license now.

  • dancer_61 Jill P🇺🇦🇺🇦 (@dancer_61) reported

@NiKKi_E13 @Nick56412479 It’s interesting because I was with Optus 4 6 months over a decade ago-but they were terrible!I hear they’re not much better now & Telstra’s security is definitely better.I’m glad you had a positive experience during such an awful time though! Also glad you’re not with them now!

  • ozlover7 Mike (@ozlover7) reported

@westaustralian It was always a poor deal. Would have been better to Promote Perth on the Global stage not Optus. $5m a year for a State that has a $6b surplus this year is a joke .

  • dingram Dave Ingram 😷🌻🍍 (@dingram) reported

@YouAreLobbyLud And plenty of people now need new DL thanks to @optus. Do P2/N95 nose plugs exist? Border Farce are just the worst

  • Gondwana017 RTizza (@Gondwana017) reported

@AndrewBGreene @Optus Can the attack be “quickly shut down” after the data was stolen and offered on the dark web @Optus ? Bit of the case of shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted and crossed two state borders. #auspoI

  • KernkeReg Reg Kernke (@KernkeReg) reported

Wow @optus September 30 at 1:51 pm and you can't confirm if my account was impacted by 'this incident'. #OptusHack My next bill is due within the week, my guess is that it will be on time and payable without impact or delay.

  • nim_jpg NIM (@nim_jpg) reported

Or should I cancel my order @Optus
