@byronkaye If he/she/it is successful this time who is to say what he will demand from his victim. While he may have been trying to hamper Optus, what he actually did was make the average Australian have to face more problems, time and money. No sympathie he is nit Robin Hood

  • GourmetMale GourmetMale - I need mustard (@GourmetMale) reported

@Shleeable @glengyron If a "team of thousands" were involved then Optus has FAR bigger problems. And the process you describe is ultra-waterfall. Which goes back to who's ultimately at fault here. How you maintain quality is TDD, CI/CD, and the right culture and agile mindset.

  • serpent_roots tj (@serpent_roots) reported

@developerjack It's not that bad if it's designed into the system. Probably terrifying for Optus though.

  • fictillius Sagittarius (Sgr) A* (@fictillius) reported

The last time I was an Optus customer I didn’t have a drivers license 💅🏼

  • Alcatraz_Bird Hedonic treadmill operator (@Alcatraz_Bird) reported

@pixeltoofar @MatthewBevan Public ownership could never possibly compete with the inefficiency and corruption of the leadership of Qantas or Optus, and that's why they were made private. As a golden parachute and a graft off public handouts and disgustingly overblown CEO pay. The system you're defending.

  • BrisVegian Aussie Comrade McComradeFace (@BrisVegian) reported

@NewtonMark @DogGunn @AlboMP My APIs in azure currently use private endpoints to hide from public and an api gateway with claims based auth and devsecops through CI/CD and regular audits with cyber security team. This **** is 💯 on Optus. You want Albo to roll up his sleeves and start coding?

  • deadtheorist Naomi Smith (@deadtheorist) reported

@SimonCopland @Optus They seem to be super slow with notifying everyone, I didn't find out until this morning. Maybe you've gotten super lucky though!

  • bananna1y William (@bananna1y) reported

@abcnews Zero trust computing should be the standard anti hacking measure for companies like Optus . Fines and civil damages should follow if they fail to employ "best in show" safeguards .

  • Mykal_AU Nomad not mad (@Mykal_AU) reported

@RichardKGrump @Pamduckling @Optus Let's wait for the final assessment. From what I've read, there's a great deal of corporate compliance and downright foolish PII management that needs to be confirmed. Leaving an unauthenticated API was bad, but storing high risk data is potentially criminal

  • irfi786 Irfan Shafiq (@irfi786) reported

@Dimitrios_1963 I also got an email from hopeless optus, the last i used their service was 2017 and they still had my info their database not sure for what reason... Now i am waiting for emails from Nigeria lol
