@MattRichardson Did the same for Australia. Optus prepaid sim from Amazon. Simple web form to activate; worked beautifully from wheels down in BNE.

Not sure how you can go into a store or call up without a physical lisence and get a new sim card for an existing @Optus mobile number. So the existing numher which was working on my mother's simcard was switched off to have no service causing mass confusion. #OptusHack

So where is this hundreds of millions of dollars in fines for Optus @ClareONeilMP? Surely we're not morons with a low limited number right? For a major corporation who leaked around 40% of the Australian population's information? We're not that stupid right? #optus #optushack

I've been an @optus customer for twenty four years across multiple phone numbers and accounts. I still haven't received an email in regards to stolen personal information.

@TMRQld @Optus Great, so basically no way to prevent a crime that could destroy my financial life and cause untold issues when that data is confirmed stolen through no fault of my own. So I need to be the victim of a crime... And this could be done with a few keystrokes. Why do I pay taxes?

Lis (@Eli_La11_11) reported
@CatPurry9 That's precisely one of the issues I had with that email. Made me even more angry! And "importantly no financial info or passwords have been accessed"... Umm except they have the rest of it. But #Optus are the victim.

If you are, or if you hypothetically would have been, an Optus customer, how worried about the data breach are you?
-
Michael (@its_peeps) reported
@goodfoodgal Actually fairly easy to solve. Issue new drivers licences and passports to those affected and charge it back to Optus.

@SacheTweet @Optus Matter of time before every other service provider is hit. Gas, Power, telco etc. Surely this is a troll? BSB and Acc? Come on...

@joshgnosis My experience with Optus last Friday and today; Buy SIM card for mobile broadband Friday. Called tech support today to sort out email. Got told to go to store for I’d verification. I live outside the Barossa. Drove 40min to Nuriootpa, told store to close 3pm. Jeez...
