Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Central Coast and nearby locations:

  • bcurrall80 Blake Currall (@bcurrall80) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus Hi Zac, seems to have been a bit of an outage in Kensington 2033 last night but appears to be ok this morning, thanks

  • amawidarmana ama widarmana (@amawidarmana) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

$65 per month, yet I only get 20 days per month of internet.. @Optus , and now I the problem occurs again, no internet connection at all. Postcode 2132

  • darthted Ted Tencza (@darthted) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

So @Optus has replied to me, to let me know that "some offers are available to new and re-contract customers only," totally missing the point of my original complaint.

  • corduroy Josh Mckinnon (@corduroy) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@haruki_zaemon @Aussie_BB I use Internode (only makes sense if you already have home broadband) and Optus. Their network is not noticeably worse, and sometimes better, than Telstra.

  • _marty_k Marty K (@_marty_k) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@tuppaware @Optus Wouldn’t surprise me if they give you a tone-deaf response about how “we want you to enter these things manually because it’s more secure” or some equally terrible excuse…

  • buyersagentssyd Paul Mulligan (@buyersagentssyd) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Shame on @Telstra if you think @Optus is difficult to deal with don’t go to @Telstra. No customer service & an oversees call centre were they can hardly speak English! Try @vodaf

  • murdochsj Scott Murdoch (@murdochsj) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@allconsuming Don’t go Optus. It’s nbn is the worst.

  • matseinarsen Mats Stafseng Einarsen (@matseinarsen) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Add to it that the telcos (Optus...) are also stale and old with old school customer service 😬

  • montyhamilton Monty Hamilton (@montyhamilton) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@speedmeades @Robbo_heraldsun @Telstra @Optus Yes, I'm one of the founders... The product design and customer service is effortless...

  • lyng62 Lyn (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Toddy2102 @Optus @NBN_Australia Thats Correct. I rang Optus while the tech was still here and said - do not switch anything over until we discuss the issue of the NBN modem and router being DOWNSTAIRS now when my cable connection comes straight into my office which is UPSTAIRS.

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@AUSFestivus My date is April 2019, apparently. We get HFC. The Optus HFC service here was so bad I called the TIO in about repeated lies and poor performance, and they ordered Optus to let me out of contract with no penalties. Telstra HFC has been great though, other than tiny upstream.

  • BluesFan7071 Simon Benson (@BluesFan7071) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Great @Optus that we can see a graph breaking down data usage but not so great that last point on graph Tue 29 Jan. Not helpful if graph doesn’t update more frequently!!!!

  • bcg1976 Not for you (@bcg1976) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Spoonyman @tasmaniatalks it works by using any tower. Not just telstra, optus, vodaphone, etc. That's how it improves service for emergency locally. Mainly it's just a work-in-any-country solution as it's a part of the cell phone spec irrespective of provider/country.

  • joekiely Joe Kiely (@joekiely) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@igriscti @Telstra @Optus Obliviously they haven’t a clue! Being @Telstra they probably made the engineer, who could figure it out and fix it, redundant

  • theogoh Theo Legowo (@theogoh) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@optus please comment, my colleague next to me is having exactly the same issue, but told to go to an Optus store to sort it out. I’m worried now because I’m porting a number to you.

  • DigitalMediaBoy Carrington Brigham (@DigitalMediaBoy) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Don’t go with @Optus for NBN it takes them 30+ days just to relocate you in the same building. Isn’t that awesome service. Think it’s a case of them being too big too care about their consumers these days.

  • TheWoodsmanTree The Woodsman (@TheWoodsmanTree) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus service in Kensington area is beyond pathetic. Third world coverage. Seems too much money spent on promotion and little on infrastructure.

  • markc Mark Cohen (@markc) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Looks like @optus account login is down - wonder if they use AWS in Sydney too or if it’s coincidence

  • RozaGermian Roza Germian (@RozaGermian) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus please let your customer know what on earth is going with your internet outage. Contrary to what your website tells people, you’re keeping customers in the dark, not “in the loop”!!!

  • gregmw34_greg Greg Williamson (@gregmw34_greg) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus what is the problem with the cable internet in area 2122

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • SimianCaptain Captain Simian (@SimianCaptain) reported

@tresantes This is either a sign of just how bad @Optus are at handling your data, or a sign that they realise that nobody in their right mind would remain an Optus customer #optushack #databreach #securitybreach

  • Ausnews_ Dolphin (@Ausnews_) reported

@jacklfoster IT WASN’T A HACK. OPTUS DIDN’T PUT A PASSWORD ON THEIR CUSTOMER LIST

  • Em1lyB1ngham Emily Bingham (@Em1lyB1ngham) reported

@runbeagle #curtindigipr an-online issue example is when some people can’t login to a platform for a few minutes or hours a crisis would be if a large majority of peoples data got leaked much like the Optus stadium incident

  • ArachneLatro Eden… (@ArachneLatro) reported

@redruby17 @joshgnosis I go onto a chat with Optus and patiently but politely badgered the customer service officer about wanting to know which of my documents had been released until they offered me early access to the free credit & identity theft service.🤞

  • stirlospace 𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚕𝚘.𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚌e (@stirlospace) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@OccupyMyGov Optus is already a pejorative here at Our House “oh no my phone has gone all optus’y” @infinitereality hopefully an actual isP or someone who can deploy a real network can take over once ACCC are done. False “5G” and “internet” ads 🤥 LYINN.

  • SzilviaVirag Szilvia 🇦🇺🇭🇺😷💉💉💉💉🐕📷⌨️ (@SzilviaVirag) reported

Why is the government always too slow to act on anything urgent? They should have announced that every affected Optus customer can get a new drivers license, Medicare card and passport with brand new numbers on Day 1.

  • LanaRadmanovicc Lana (@LanaRadmanovicc) reported

@runbeagle #CurtinDigiPR The Optus data breach could be an example where a brand's reputation has suffered some damage.

  • JohnLee84586356 GinJohn 💧💦🐀 (@JohnLee84586356) reported

@OccupyMyGov More advanced than Optus obviously. We know Gladys had nothing to do with it because she can never “recall” anything.

  • saci68 sachi (@saci68) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk @allyjfoster Several on the forum are speculating he got paid and now 'backtracking' so Optus don't look stupid!

  • Ausnews_ Dolphin (@Ausnews_) reported

@OccupyMyGov IT WASN’T A HACK. OPTUS DIDN’T PUT A PASSWORD ON THEIR CUSTOMER LIST
