@chrisopotamia I only know to check my emails about the next level in the Optus cyber attack saga by your tweets. I too need a new license it seems. Thank you for your service.

BREAKING: After being dragged kicking & screaming by Labor, Optus has caved in & agreed to cover the costs of all replacement passports. Lucky we have a government pushing back on the Corporations. 👍 The Opposition‘s solution was for the tax payer to foot the bill! 🤬

Here’s the thing. I’m an Optus customer. Had an account with them for over 20 years. I can’t even remember what personal documents I submitted to them for ID back then. I have no idea what exposure I might even have.

Justine Gough of @AusFedPolice: "Cyber crime is the break-and-enter of the 21st century" 🤦 Need better digital literacy at all levels. It's illegal leave a car unlocked or with the windows down when the motorist is away from the car right? @Optus left the door ******* wide open

@AlboMP This is a great move PM, Optus needs to pay for this. Great work there, however I’m very dismayed at the scrapping of mandatory isolation periods. That was a terrible decision.

So will Optus pay for all impacted customer's replacement passports or just the 10,000 whose got released online? #Optus #OptusDataBreach

@Optus #OptusHack This is a fail on so many levels. Can't login to any apps, called, told to cancel in store. In store told to call cancellations Cancelations hangs up anywhere from 23 minutes to an hour of being on hold

Police press conf on ABC right now. Fed up with hearing how complex this is - that’s been the answer for over a week now. @Optus need to issue a timeline for when customers will ALL be advised of the degree of data of theirs that was basically donated to the dark web by Optus.

Bruce Guthrie (@bruceguthriegca) reported
@AlboMP @SenatorWong @ClareONeilMP The backlog in the passport office is bad enough as it is. Thanks Optus.

Mixmaster Sunbeam J (@jmspdly) reported
@joshgnosis the problem is, how do we even know if we are in the 10,000 records? No one’s told us how to check. I don’t even know if I’ve been hacked since the email Optus sent on Friday was just addressed to ‘Customer’ and I haven’t heard anything more.

@BrettSprigg Tax payers paid for it but Optus get to put their name on it. Should never have happened.
