hey @optus courtesy of your inept customer service you are loosing a 20 year customer. Nothing like being screwed over, lied to and treated like a dumb arse by your so called customer service.

  • mediahunter Craig Wilson (@mediahunter) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

    @CouchNish I can't even watch it. Optus issues. 😡

  • michaelread1 Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@optus can’t call me and I can’t call them because I don’t have either a business or a personal line. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Do we have any options that don’t leak peoples private data to randoms in Australia? How absolutely incompetent and stupid.

  • michaelread1 Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

My name isn’t Andrew. But thanks to @optus I have access to his full name, home address, email address, passwords, contact number, credit card details and other random bits of information. My situation isn’t solved, and now if I was a bad guy, Andrew’s would have been ruined.

  • michaelread1 Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

Optus then decided after over 90 mins of explaining myself multiple times to different people on chat, I’d need to wait for a call. That call happened, it was from the wrong department. So they had to transfer me. After 2 hours I got some help. “So what can we do today?” 🤯

  • MansfieldOwen Owen Mansfield (@MansfieldOwen) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus Worst service I’ve ever recommend. Have been trying to connect NBN. No one in your call centres seem to know what to do.

  • BelindaNoonan1 Belinda Noonan (@BelindaNoonan1) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@Optus have “technical errors” if you are trying to get technical help with NBN. That’s what I was told when transferred to NBN tech help desk, after another ridiculous amount of phone time.

  • MarkEquestrian Mark Tarrant (@MarkEquestrian) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@Optus PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STOP with the hard sell sales pith to try to lock me into a contract every damn time i need to speak to one of you people. DISGRACEFUL

  • carolduncan Carol Duncan (@carolduncan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@joshgnosis I’e tweeted Optus for help/advice, tried online chat twice … nothing.

  • siobhan_curran Siobhan Curran (@siobhan_curran) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

As an @optus customer I haven’t received any correspondence regarding the data breach and have no idea if my data has been compromised.

  • BZElkie Barbara Elkins (@BZElkie) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@janine_hendry Cancel contracts with Optus? Urgent enough?

  • fergmich Michelle Ferguson (@fergmich) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@Optus was chatting to someone on app messaging service re Fetch TV. App has dropped out 'Technical problem'. Can someone please help me ASAP.

  • ShaneNatalie Shane N. Thompson (@ShaneNatalie) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus hello, I received spam email this week claiming to be Optus & confirming that I had increased my laptop data usage with Optus. I never increased my data usage. Can you now confirm with me that my laptop/mobile plan hasn’t been changed? Thanks.

  • ResourcefulHDR Sally Purcell (@ResourcefulHDR) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@albericie @Optus Good luck! Feel your pain. Left the big telcos a few years back. With a smaller isp now - much happier with the customer service

  • dorrian_peter peter dorrian (@dorrian_peter) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

Hey @Optus I moved house today and notwithstanding 3 weeks notice - guess what - no internet connection at my new house - and btw your “customer service” sucks - just time wasting useless conversations- how does a very long term loyal customer speak to someone who might fix this?

  • halans Jean-Jacques Halans (@halans) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

Optus having a problem with 4G data on iPhone 12.

  • JoshO567 Josh Howe (@JoshO567) reported from Central Coast, State of New South Wales

@simonhill1894 The A-League won't be the same without you. Football in general won't be the same without you. Thanks for your service. Hope to hear you somewhere down the road. Maybe some place called Optus

  • gjblue Greg Blue (@gjblue) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Hillysfarms @Telstra I reckon telstra coverage in metro areas is third after optus and Vodafone, its terrible here in Newcastle

  • nickintheworld Nick Williams (@nickintheworld) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@a_choros **** Telstra, marry Vodafone, kill Optus... Truth be told I’d prefer to kill Telstra while screaming **** you and have an ongoing FWB with Vodafone and just leave Optus alone

  • ajhill_alan Alan Hill (@ajhill_alan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@perthovalman @kevinperry @TheWorldGame @SBS @ALeague @premierleague @Craig_Foster @LucyZelic A cash-strapped FTA network does its best but has no hope of competing with Foxtel (itself scaling back football coverage in the face of its own financial woes) and Optus. I'd blame the government before pointing a finger at SBS.

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

Yes, in the US, T-Mobile is the primary carrier for Starlink direct-to-cell service (T-Satellite), but it's available to AT&T and Verizon customers for $10/month (free for some T-Mobile plans). Compatible phones include recent iPhones, Pixels, and Galaxys. Globally, carriers like Rogers (Canada) and Optus (Australia) offer it. If switching, consider AT&T/Verizon's AST SpaceMobile alternatives.

  • grok Grok (@grok) reported

As of July 2025, AST SpaceMobile has more definitive agreements with MNOs, boasting over 50 partnerships (including AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, and Telefónica) serving 3B+ subscribers. Starlink has about 10 key D2C partners like T-Mobile, Optus, Rogers, and KDDI. AST's broader network edges it out in operator alliances.

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@AdamTho88718953 @Optus @NBN_Australia Here's hoping your area gets the free upgrade to fttp soon and finally gets off the terrible crap copper implemented by LNP all those years ago.

  • acsmith54 andrew (@acsmith54) reported

@GeoffPAus @Optus I am no longer a customer but they still want MFA despite that using data they should no longer have, so I have reported them to the office of the information commissioner who has given them a show cause

  • sageultimate 'Sam' The Sage (@sageultimate) reported

@Optus Big deal 🙄 I got that item free when buying a phone online direct from China. Optus is a failure. After 30 years mobile/cable/nbn I was treated v badly. Never again.

  • Covid_19_Hoax Covid Is Over! 🦘 🇦🇺 (@Covid_19_Hoax) reported

I am in southern rural Victoria and I have good Optus 5G coverage here so everything goes through my mobile phone to my computers and TV and it is 250mbs inside the house and 300 to 400 mbs outside, if I ever move to an area where only NBN fixed wireless is available I wont be touching it as it is slow and costs a fortune, I'll be getting star link

  • maximationmax Maximation Max (@maximationmax) reported

@rhysam @Telstra Change to Optus call centres are no better but the fibre NBN seems to work. Buy your own wifi router and plug it directly into the port on the fibre modem. Problem solved

  • KennyMcleod17 Kenny Mcleod (@KennyMcleod17) reported

@MaasdorpJR @VinceRugari Foxtel had on demand back in 2016 along with the same picture quality Optus is finishing with today. You only had to pay for someone’s backyard iptv subscription service to see how truely average Optus sport was.

  • karmay0gi Vignesh (@karmay0gi) reported

@LFC_Australia @justinpa1 I have two services running on Optus. I ported one number to TPG for a very good deal for 6 months and a discounted rate after that, since I have TPG NBN. I also got a very good deal for my other Optus service, which my wife uses.

  • michaelsfanboys Michael (@michaelsfanboys) reported

@StanSportAU Bad move shouldn’t have stayed at Optus or go to foxtel **** paying extra just watch epl 😡
