@Optus You’ve had numerous DM’s from me. And phone calls and live chats. A case manager is assigned. This is a bigger issue tho. And you guys need to recognise this.

  • mrjamesmoore
James + (@mrjamesmoore) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Optus just got the email RE $4 price increase. This on top of the @OptusSport increase is not acceptable. How do I cancel my account?

  • nlarkin_photo
Nathan Larkin (@nlarkin_photo) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Optus Been the worst service all day with continual drop outs.

  • bazhousecat
Baz (@bazhousecat) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

If we’ve learnt anything from the Optus debacle, it’s that you should never hire Gladys Berejiklian for anything.

  • scousehelen
Scouse Helen(Helen Drinoczky) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (@scousehelen) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Optus The saga goes on. A 4+ hours wait up to now on the app and still no nearer to getting my question answered. 24/7 help advertised but no mention of how long the wait is!

  • justinjonesblog
Justin Jones (@justinjonesblog) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

It’s the “Dear Justin” to “Dear Customer” for me. This really looks like a suss email that is doing Optus zero favours. #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach #Optus

  • DrTejashreeK
Tejashree Kangutkar (@DrTejashreeK) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

Anybody experiencing issues with @optus network? Signal interruptions are regular and ongoing. I often get dropped out of important meetings and seminars because of network issues. This is beyond annoyance #Optus

  • RudiEdsall
Rudi Edsall (@RudiEdsall) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

I may have had all my personal data stolen being an Optus customer, but at least I get one bar of 4G reception in a cafe in Brunswick

  • julieptorres21
Juls Torres (@julieptorres21) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

What's up with @Optus? NO SERVICE AGAIN! 😡

  • HelloSammyG
HelloSammyG (@HelloSammyG) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@charlietech @NBN_Australia Charlie every time it slightly rains at my parents place the NBN drops, why? Optus have said it’s common problem and will only fix or report to NBN if happens 5 times in a day - my parents are old is there a way I can have consistent NBN for them including phone connection?

  • ShaneBryan_IT
Shane Bryan (@ShaneBryan_IT) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

I think better wording is needed for the #optus incident. My understanding is that it wasn’t a hack, it wasn’t a breach, nor an attack & that the data was leaked through incompetence. I’m still reading articles about it mentioning terms such as “firewall” in ways implying a hack.

  • scousehelen
Scouse Helen(Helen Drinoczky) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (@scousehelen) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@NickAnsell @rebekkarnold Optus now show less competitions, now charges more and still we get terrible streaming issues when trying to watch live games in the middle of the night.

  • mikjcal
Mick (@mikjcal) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

Watching the news I was reminded how in May I was on a road trip through country Victoria. I was given **** cause my phone didn’t have signal, and I had to beg to hotspot for a bit. “Just go with Optus” one said - well, I’m glad I ignored that advice and stayed with Vodafone🤭

  • mflbg
Michael (@mflbg) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@DrKate_Miller @emmaandollie @Optus I’m an ex customer from 2 years ago and my data was in the hack. What should I ask for as compensation?

  • suessaints
Susanna (@suessaints) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@vicroads please change your rules re licence replacement. Optus customers should not have to wait for a fraud to occur to be allowed to change their driver’s licences! It’s bad enough to have the data breach. @DanielAndrewsMP @Optus 1/2

  • _TimMcMahon
Tim McMahon (@_TimMcMahon) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@vertikar @NBN_Australia @Telstra The irony in Telstra workers having Optus and Vodafone services for continuity just in case nbn and Telstra mobile go down. 😬

  • ShigeruKugimiya
Shigeru (Shiggy) Kugimiya (釘宮 滋) (@ShigeruKugimiya) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Optus I have issues with mobile network not connecting to the network in South Eastern Melbourne 3196. Is anyone having same issues?

  • macec88
Mace Caruana (@macec88) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@OptusSport I’ve been trying for weeks to contact you regarding my subscription - calls don’t work as their Optus not Optus Sport (found annoying after 2 1 hour calls) & I’ve raised 3 cases now - 2 of which closed without resolution & 1 is pending open for days now! Please help!

  • ajobbins
Adam Jobbins (@ajobbins) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@seemsforever Yeah, I've been the information risk owner of large, externally facing systems like this and it's the nightmare situation. But reading how the hack was done, it's crazy that Optus didn't know about this vulnerability, or if they did and didn't fix it....😬

  • stirlospace
    𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚕𝚘.𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚌𝚎 @𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚜.𝗰𝗼𝗺 (@stirlospace) reported from Melbourne, Victoria

@Telstra @Optus @amaysimAU Yeah seems like your whole network is down across Melbourne at least just went to the shops they couldn’t use 5G 4G anything but Nbn seems okay sort of I mean for Nbn in the city yeah it’s out of the usual expected level of a yes. My mum always said.

  • Hazkypreos
    Harry Gregory (@Hazkypreos) reported

@RFC_Centre One thing I found interesting watching the game at Optus. Time after time Sonsie was manning two players when the dockers were coming out of defence and usually stuck between both of them. There was never any backup from another team mate. Other than one error he had a good game.

  • chrisshill
    Christopher (@chrisshill) reported

@FOXFOOTY @GerardWhateley No problem with Gather Round staying in SA but to say it wouldn’t be the same in any other state is completely facetious. It could be easily replicated in WA, imagine a game at the WACA then a walk over the bridge to another game at Optus. Play Freo at Freo Oval for fun even.

  • TH79Games
    TommaHawk79 Games (@TH79Games) reported

why did @Optus remove manuel payment option from thier website its effing annoying when my pay comes b4 the auto payment day & i need to pay **** & know what i got left for other important stuf its DUMB! Now i gotta bother your support agents when i could just click a button ffs

  • JezMans
Jeremy Mansfield OAM 🌏 (@JezMans) reported

@challinor_dave @Telstra @Optus Try saying that to a Gov entity…oh wait, you call them and then hang on a call hold for hours…that’s another kind of problem!

  • RceWhite42315

@QBCCIntegrity @AlboMP @LawrenceWongST Singapore is Aussie blood sucking parasite . Optus -sucks Private Hospitals- sucks Fuel supply -sucks

  • Buueror
    B (@Buueror) reported

@JackieChan87805 @LeagueScenePod @BulldogRitchie In case you didn’t notice, you’re the one being dumb as Perth clearly see the importance in playing all their games at HBF Park. If you can get every game sold out, then it puts pressure on the government into funding the joint. Moving games to Optus doesn’t help that.

  • Defiantclient2
    Kevin Chen (@Defiantclient2) reported

@antti_engineer @Telstra Signal strength is logarithmic. An additional 3 dBm can be a big difference. @Optus, a partner of Starlink, is claiming that the -115 dBm level is essentially unusable. And there are live measurements where Starlink hovers slightly above and below that number. Also, just look at the measurement in your own app there. The -112 dBm is about bordering going dark red and your own app describes -112 dBm as "Poor".

Well done Optus, no service for two days while they update their network, and possibly won't return until the 17th - Tuesday.

  • MillinBear
Millin Bear+FSD helping you profit from AI (@MillinBear) reported

I am too lazy to proof read and edit the below from grok, we had a chat in the car and below is the direct output for a post from grok, 85% my intent but could use some polish… (it gave me 3x image prompts, images from grok attached are also not proofed.) - enjoy: Why Starlink Roam Falls Flat in Australia (And How to Fix It) Honest opinion: Starlink Roam is brilliant on paper—$80 a month for 100GB priority data, perfect for caravans, motorhomes, or pros working on the go in the outback. But in reality? It’s poop for mobile use. Australia’s endless trees, dense bushland, and tunnels (think Bruce Highway or any regional drive) block the line-of-sight to satellites constantly. You’re crawling along at zero bars half the time, burning data elsewhere or offline entirely. Great for static campsites, useless in motion. The glaring hardware oversight: No LTE/cellular failover. Starlink Mini (or next-gen) should’ve shipped with an eSIM slot for Australian carriers like Telstra or Optus. When sats fail, auto-switch to 4G/5G local network as a hotspot—seamless, like your phone. Caveat: ACMA spectrum rules (IMT bands for terrestrial mobile) might need carrier partnerships, but it’s doable—Telstra/Optus already partner with Starlink for direct-to-device sat-to-phone using those bands. NBN fixed-wireless modems do exactly this: SIM failover when fibre/cable drops, approved under existing regs. If it’s green for NBN, it should be for Starlink Roam. Pricing fix for AU market: Base $19 add-on for up to 10% cellular failover (10GB on the $80 plan), covering Starlink’s wholesale data costs. Double to $38 for 100% cellular option if you’re in eternal tree hell. Keeps it affordable, competitive with eSIM hotspots, and actually usable. Starlink, take notes—Gen3 Mini or beyond, make it hybrid. Aussie travellers deserve better. What do you reckon? Roll it out! [Image 1: Insert here after intro] Grok prompt: Photorealistic image of a Tesla Model Y parked under dense Australian eucalyptus trees in outback Queensland, with a Starlink Mini dish on the roof struggling for signal—show obstructed sky view, frustrated driver checking phone, red dust road nearby.
