  • MansfieldOwen Owen Mansfield (@MansfieldOwen) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus Worst service I’ve ever recommend. Have been trying to connect NBN. No one in your call centres seem to know what to do.

  • ReetuMutti Reetu Mutti (@ReetuMutti) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

.@TPG_Telecom Trying to port my TPG no from TPG’s Optus to Vodaphone network. Spent countless hrs calling helpdesk every day, talked to supervisiors, waited days for engineers to investigate. Been waiting 20 DAYS, still not working. This is ridiculous. Fix this!!

  • carolduncan Carol Duncan (@carolduncan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@joshgnosis I’e tweeted Optus for help/advice, tried online chat twice … nothing.

  • tmacca_1996 Thomas McKenna (@tmacca_1996) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus @7mate take your ads off appearing as every second one! I will never use your service due to this. Biggest pet peeve, waste of money on your marketing side #idiots #advertising

  • siobhan_curran Siobhan Curran (@siobhan_curran) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

As an @optus customer I haven’t received any correspondence regarding the data breach and have no idea if my data has been compromised.

  • ajhill_alan Alan Hill (@ajhill_alan) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@perthovalman @kevinperry @TheWorldGame @SBS @ALeague @premierleague @Craig_Foster @LucyZelic A cash-strapped FTA network does its best but has no hope of competing with Foxtel (itself scaling back football coverage in the face of its own financial woes) and Optus. I'd blame the government before pointing a finger at SBS.

  • michaelread1 Michael (@michaelread1) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

Optus then decided after over 90 mins of explaining myself multiple times to different people on chat, I’d need to wait for a call. That call happened, it was from the wrong department. So they had to transfer me. After 2 hours I got some help. “So what can we do today?” 🤯

  • gjblue Greg Blue (@gjblue) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Hillysfarms @Telstra I reckon telstra coverage in metro areas is third after optus and Vodafone, its terrible here in Newcastle

  • ozziewiltshire Oz. Pro Choice! (@ozziewiltshire) reported from Raymond Terrace, State of New South Wales

@madameshawshank @PringPhillip Love is blind... and stupid evidently. Career straight down the **** chute, although I high paying gig at optus is 2nd best I suppose.

  • carlagrossetti @carlagrossetti (@carlagrossetti) reported from Maitland, State of New South Wales

@Optus Thanks Nard. What causes an outage that only affects webmail?

  • SophiePearse Sophie Pearse (@SophiePearse) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

I’ve phoned @Optus customer service 3 days in a row and you’ve YET to rectify this issue, despite advising you have. This is incredibly poor form, deplorable in fact 😡

  • nickintheworld Nick Williams (@nickintheworld) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@a_choros **** Telstra, marry Vodafone, kill Optus... Truth be told I’d prefer to kill Telstra while screaming **** you and have an ongoing FWB with Vodafone and just leave Optus alone

  • ShaneNatalie Shane N. Thompson (@ShaneNatalie) reported from Newcastle, State of New South Wales

@Optus hello, I received spam email this week claiming to be Optus & confirming that I had increased my laptop data usage with Optus. I never increased my data usage. Can you now confirm with me that my laptop/mobile plan hasn’t been changed? Thanks.

  • KitaandMat Mat and Kita Clarke (@KitaandMat) reported from Maitland, State of New South Wales

@OeterB @Fozbyte That's what I did! I'm an optus customer so it's included in my plan.

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Chris_Rathborne Chris (@Chris_Rathborne) reported

@CiceroConsulta1 @Telstra @Optus They are like a cruel joke. Someone should look for a class action lawsuit against them for this type of service

  • the_boston_rose Andy McLucas (@the_boston_rose) reported

@Optus - 5th time I have phoned to try and get an issue resolved as my service was cancelled without any notice. Have actually been hung up on because people obviously can't answer my questions. This is not acceptable. Is that your plan for good customer service?

  • grdn19 Gordon Farrer (@grdn19) reported

@Telstra I first told @Telstra about this than 20+ years ago. Was told you’re aware of the black spot – I live a suburb of Melb, nothing remote! – and was told the solution was to pay $1500 for a booster in our roof to get a signal. Probably go back to Optus. No black spot with them.

  • heidisapirate 𝕤𝕠𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕘𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥 👻 (@heidisapirate) reported

@getdown01 @tofuboi1986 @Aussie_BB Yeah we had super slow internet just before we got NBN, that got fixed, and now we've been having wifi dropping from all devices every 10 odd minutes. I watch a lot of twitch, but it makes it pretty much impossible. Optus P much said that because we have 8 devices connected 1/

  • saintvillan Tim Vickers (@saintvillan) reported

Awesome work @Optus suspend someone's internet service for an unknown reason and then all go home to bed so no one can help fix the problem. I'll be taking my NBN service to someone else now. #Optus #service #stinks

  • linuxbsdpirate ¢няιѕ м¢gιмρѕєу-נσηєѕ (@linuxbsdpirate) reported

@Optus This is 4G mobile, not landline. And I sent DM already, as requested by Optus, yet as usual no follow up. I reported issues with local tower, yet as usual no follow up. Ongoing 2 year problem. I've been offered $50 credit to try to shut me up, once in 2 years.

  • heidisapirate 𝕤𝕠𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕘𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥 👻 (@heidisapirate) reported

@getdown01 It looks like we have fttc. Aussie Bb looks to have similar costs to what we're already paying, so at least if we switch to them it wouldn't be too much of a difference. Knowing about outages is pretty great, Optus never tells us anything

  • getdown01 Adam Jacobs (@getdown01) reported

@heidisapirate I was with Optus and changed to Aussie Broadband. Great reliability and they tell me whenever there is an outage and planned outages. Prices are better than Optus It's best to check on nbnco to see what type of connection your NBN uses. FTTP and HFC are you better connections

  • heidisapirate 𝕤𝕠𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕘𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥 👻 (@heidisapirate) reported

@nickwhan I think we pay $75 atm, which for what we're getting is pretty bad. The only time it isn't regularly cutting out is at like 2am when it's only me online. Tangerine looks to provide for broady. And they are cheaper than optus, so they might be a good option.

  • rob_gill Rob Gill (@rob_gill) reported

@Optus frequent hfc NBN outages. Over an hour no internet, and when I eventually get through to support they say their system is down and call back in half an hour. Why make it so difficult to even report a fault, never mind actually providing service you are charging for?
