@WaterfordJack @vjmahon I reported alleged AFP corruption to ACLEI. They pretended to be sympathetic. When I didn’t get back to them (nameless, they never even gave names) in a timely manner, they rang me on both my phones. I asked how they got my new Optus number. They said they looked it up.

@joshgnosis I think Optus may have broken laws in relation to keeping PII secure if the API was left open, which hopefully will form the basis of a class action if true.

Final note today utter chaos at @Optus: the “advice” from people at highers level of support was to immediately change my phone miner and email address. Easy peasy right! Curiously no mention of making my Optus password secure and usingn 2FA, when its Optus who got owned

The actual issue is that Optus failed to secure sensitive PII in a mission critical and well established products without potentially tragic consequences, and labelled themselves the victims. Using a new gmail won’t help

@benavu54 They'd better not give customer data to banks! That's a breach in itself. All they need to do is sight ID documents and delete them. It's so simple and the law already prohibits retaining personal information when no longer needed #Optus #Optusdatabreach

As an Optus customer I am being very careful who I follow back on sm at the moment. No crypto or bitcoin.
