@WaterfordJack @vjmahon I reported alleged AFP corruption to ACLEI. They pretended to be sympathetic. When I didn’t get back to them (nameless, they never even gave names) in a timely manner, they rang me on both my phones. I asked how they got my new Optus number. They said they looked it up.

any customer adversely affected by the Optus failure to protect data should be compensated by the company #insiders

  • CarltonBree Bree Carlton (@CarltonBree) reported

@CarolynJanson @KoparaFallsKid Unless you’ve been a customer with Optus historically no you won’t be affected. The delays in texts is probably just a service issue with your provider.

  • ktdenise 🇦🇺 Katie 🥂 (@ktdenise) reported

Optus are gunna **** us aren't they?

  • TorSamundsett Tor Samundsett (@TorSamundsett) reported

@Optus Hi, received an email addressed to me by name confirming my details, including my drivers licence number, were compromised. To change my drivers licence number I am required to give the police report / incident number. Optus chat said it could only be done "face to face"

  • drbillsukala Dr Bill Sukala (@drbillsukala) reported

@SPBMcKenna @Optus They should just pay the ransom and contain the damage. The ensuing litigation will be far more costly when it comes out that their IT intern forgot to lock the door on the optus servers' back end.

  • LisaHay92756018 Lisa Hayes (@LisaHay92756018) reported

@recneps51 @Optus I found the Telecommunications Ombudsman very effective when I had problems with Telstra which they just didn't fix. One call to the TO and problem fixed in a day. Give them a try.

  • borningore Nathan Thompson (@borningore) reported

@ianbfarquhar Even worse. I’m a former #optus customer - left them a few years ago - and I’ve just been informed that my data (including ID documents) was compromised. Why did they keep my data?

  • ZucchiniBikini Empress Zucchini (@ZucchiniBikini) reported

We got our Optus notice today - must have been in the less risky basket, bc we never provided them with passport, DL etc (we signed up before ID verification was a requirement, waaaaay back in the early noughts). Apparently they got hubs' name, phone number, email & address.

  • FredSpider Fred the mist🌫 (@FredSpider) reported

@TooheyMatthew Haphazardly? I have been with Dodo and another provider both of whom used the Optus 3G network. I wonder if these companies are affected by the data breech?

  • GosoraProject Gosora Project (@GosoraProject) reported

My goodness, Optus had poor security.
