@Optus So, as an effected customer of the breach, I’m just supposed to watch my accounts for any shady activity? What compensation am I getting for this ****? Your lack of security has caused a great deal of stress and anxiety, and it’s just an “oops, we’re sorry”? What ********?

@drzax I don't get how this relates to the optus breach. The hackers didn't enter the Optus system through a customer account (if they did, that would really be extraordinary), so why making these recommendations now? Recommendations make sense, to be clear, just are out of context.

@Optus @RunnerSA18 Don't blame the hackers @Optus Why was some of this data kept after being used for its initial purpose? Australia should have GDPR like fines for this type of reckless duty of care for customer data.

@siggsau @formalbeer @dawnstarau I guess Optus were too slow. Or too un-Australian to qualify.

@10NewsFirst @10NewsFirstAdl As an Optus customer I am only getting crickets.

@TheProselytiser @KatherineDeves_ @SkyNewsAust I’m also an Optus customer. This was bound to happen, all this info is unwarranted

@TomSear Okay, let's say there are valid national security reasons for validating who is using such a service. Once the validation check is complete, and Optus/Telsra/... got your name/details in your system, why do they need to keep copies of these documents?
