🥃 KB 🥃🎮🍜 (@KBGoodness) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@Haydztweets @Jacko_GFreak @Telstra @Optus @iiNet Well no, some POIs have a higher capacity then others and it comes down to if they can actually support the speeds. If you're on a POI that is at almost capacity then the chances of getting higher speeds are limited, which is why people hit that 7pm slowdown.

Col Copeland (@Colincopeland2) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

-
Jessicah Mullins (@JesMullins) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
A week later and still no resolution. Just infuriating comments from people on the Optus messaging service who have clearly not read the case notes. @Optus you need to fix this…
-

Jess the Referee (@refjess) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@NJGalea @Optus I had so many problems with them when I signed up. Never again. I'll take my chances with the clowns at Telstra rather than this mob again.
-
Andrew Christian (@GGL_Drew) reported from Queanbeyan, State of New South Wales
Just spoke with family in Tuross Heads. Tuross is unaffected apart from smoke. Connectivity available on the Telstra network (but not optus). Power just turned on at 2am this morning. Water is on and working. #SouthCoastFires #BushfireEmergency #tuross

Phoebe #Raiders4Life (@P_Glo) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@RedFiddler Yep pretty good deal. Don’t have too many problems with them. Partner is with Optus and does nothing but complain.
-
Amanda Valentina💋 (@AmandaWorldwide) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Nothing like spending your spare time in an @Optus store because the customer service call centre are so inefficient & haven’t cancelled two numbers, one dating back to October 2017, despite being asked to on more than 2 occasions. $120 p/m charges need to be reimbursed, too.
-
♛Ƙring (@mariekringxx) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

-
Andy Marsh (@stillupsocut) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@Optus I had two wireless broadband plans and as soon as I terminate one my speeds slow to under 1mb/s. Been two weeks with no solution from your tech support.

@Optus I cancelled my Optus adsl connection at the end of January after significant problems and more than a week without service & now I’ve had my previous direct debit used to take funds out on 17 February. There is no end to the terrible service by optus.
-
Jamien Rees (@voroguecp) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
You just have to love @Optus. 2nd time in a few months they have cancelled our work email. Whole account system is attached to it. No warning. Just cancelled. Thousands of dollars at a stake. Service response, ‘nothing we can do’.
-
Gillian Smith (@sweetgilly) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@Optus Not sure if I’ll get a resolution from @Optus I sent a dm
-
Sandra O'Malley (@sandraom) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Why am I not surprised it’s this hard to cancel my @Optus broadband account after they told me my ADSL connection had been cut, with no notification.
-
Sandra O'Malley (@sandraom) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
@yodaberg @Optus I’ve had alot of problems with them lately & the only thing that worked was going into a store. Chat is probably the next most helpful & you can get a transcript of what they’ve promised to action.
Optus Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
... (@MiJaMaJo) reported
@VictorDominello WTF? Other state governments are covering the cost and charging Optus. Why do NSW residents get screwed by our soon-to-be banished Lib government?
-
Tim Burrowes - Unmade (@timburrowes) reported
In what would usually be good advice, Optus tried to position itself as victim rather than the bad guy. It did so clumsily. Public affairs boss Sally Oelerich's interview with 2GB was particularly poor. It's almost always a bad idea to put up the comms person as the spokesperson
-
Maddi Rose (@missmaddi) reported
Hi @Optus, I’m not really keen on paying my phone bill just came out today. Help a sister out.
-
Zak Kirkup (@zrfk) reported
@CamDimsey Fair point; I didn't realise it was such an issue. Still think it's a good move from the govt tho; given Optus seem to be doing so very little to help
-
I live in the Hawkesbury (@VWHawkesbury) reported
@abcsydney If an affected customer is identified by Optus, proof of that should be taken to ServiceNSW and a fresh licence issued, with Optus picking up the bill for all of them. Reimbursement means having to give bank details to Optus. Why?
-
Leftwing Bastard (@_SocialDemocrat) reported
@adamliaw It’s a quick fix before charging the expense to Optus.
-
Ivor Carr ✳️✳️ (@blue_sti) reported
Ditched Optus years ago & moved to Telstra. Shocking service so moved to Vodafone, same same so moved to Aussie. So far, so good
-
Pamela S-Baxter (@pomaussi) reported
@SenPaterson @Birmo Well maybe they should get reimbursed by Optus the same way the good citizens of NSW have to do when they replace their drivers licence. Or maybe you should be demanding Dom pay for that if your view is that this is governments problem #hypocrites #auspol
-
Mickey P (@MPH8689) reported
@Optus @RunnerSA18 When are we getting some discounts for this ****?
-
Lachlan Hardy (@CharmingPlop) reported
@AnimaeOK @slsandpet Just b cause they weren't required to doesn't mean they shouldn't have failed to do the testing. It shows a serious lack of cyber security as a concern for @Optus which is ironic given their status as a Telco dealing with cyber security issues.
