@Optus Hi Aman, I appreciate that but I was told that before when I was promised multiple phone calls that never eventuated. Never mind the FTTN service we are getting drops out constantly and isn’t as reliable as the previous DSL service at my old address.

love @gilly381 but for Gilly to jump up and down and say MCG shouldnt have a guaranteed Boxing Day test in favour for his Optus Stadium in Perth yeah um Gilly half of all Kiwis live in WA for the mining jobs and yet you cant even fill up a day 1 1st test in a ANZAC clash #AUSvNZ

@SenSHenderson @AlboMP Ok Sarah, what tougher laws do you want? Also, you know with the speed of technology that as soon as a law is passed there’s a new way to hack, right? I’m an Optus customer and I appreciate just how hard cyber security is. What new laws exactly do you think will fix this?

Optus has suffered a security breach that it says may have compromised various customer data, including dates of birth, email addresses and passport numbers. Information belonging to both current and former customers of the AU mobile operator are impacted in the security incident

Aussie Broadband is a wholesale customer of Optus (as are other resellers of internet and phone services) and have advised their customers : “the wholesale platform was not part of the data breach. None of your details have been compromised as part of this cyber-attack on Optus”

Weird how many people think the Optus breach is mainly Optus's fault for doing the stupid thing that the government made it do, rather than mainly the government's fault for making Optus do a stupid thing (all systems can be hacked; the way to keep data safe is not to store it)

@Asher_Wolf this is the problem with not being open and immediately trying to externalise the blame: Optus haven't exactly been forthright and trustworthy so there's little reason to expect that to change for the notifications

Pity the Optus customer data wasn’t encrypted or secured. Must have accessed via side entry or a planted malware searching for an exit point.

Great. Hackers have my: -Name -Address -Phone Number -Email -Passport -Drivers Licence You have no idea how careful I am to keep those things secure. I don’t have a credit card, and have never even made an online payment. All that caution for nothing. Thanks Optus.

@annaRoseShadow @Asher_Wolf Fun fact, take this information to your local optus store. I was directed to my local optus store for contract cancellation and the support guy said "they will talk to you about compensation". I'm going to demand an immediate end to my contract and waiving the payout fee.
