David O'Brien (he/him) (@david_obrien) reported from Geelong, VictoriaIf there's one silver lining after the recent Optus and Medibank hacks here in AU, then it's the fact that orgs seem to finally be putting a focus onto their security from the top down. Today I had another great workshop with a new customer to assess their overall #cloudsecurity.

Lincoln Beggs (@CRIPPStoniteSC) reported from Lara Lake, Victoria@WhirlpoolFooty @trevorlong Ok so i jumped on the Nvidia Shield (non pro). At first glance it did exactly the same thing as before. Sony Bravia TV definately does have frame rate refresh issues by default. Downloaded a refresh rate app to refresh rate match Optus sport app...and bingo...frame skip gone.

Cory (@corymedia) reported from Geelong, VictoriaIf the .@Optus network wasn’t so bad and .@VodafoneAU wasn’t ridiculously panicked as to whether I can pay (because they made it clear they think I don’t make enough money), I’d be looking for a better network.

Max Blake (@maxblake44) reported from Geelong, Victoria61K at Optus Stadium in Perth. No masks. **** you @DanielAndrewsMP 🖕. #AFLGF
-
Cory (@cmplus_info) reported from Geelong, Victoria@3AWNeilMitchell scare mongering again on the @Optus data breach. Mitchell needs to be part of the solution and not the problem. Although it’s a nice reprieve from the constant @DanielAndrewsMP bashing.

MsH (@H_the_Cats_Fan) reported from Geelong, Victoria@kaine177 Optus oval was built closer to MCG dimensions … that would play a part, but yes if you think back, they didn’t play well in the hubs last year either. It’s a shame … No Gaff doesn’t help … and our weather is shite compared to over there. It’s proper winter footy.

tino mamone (@mr_calabria) reported from Geelong, Victoria@HITCSevens It’s nearly 9am Alfie I’ve got lipzig x Liverpool on Optus sports and listening to @paul_winginit on stereo ... you gonna go on sterio and talk football on it lad .... -
Lincoln Beggs (@CRIPPStoniteSC) reported from Lara Lake, Victoria@WhirlpoolFooty @trevorlong @kayosports Yeah I'm looking at other options. Very annoying as my net connection is fine and being Sony their motion handling is top notch. Nvidia Shield certainly looks like a great option. I had trouble with Kayo and now Optus Sport is buggy with its frame rate.

💧Darren Camilleri (@camo2572) reported from Geelong, Victorialove @gilly381 but for Gilly to jump up and down and say MCG shouldnt have a guaranteed Boxing Day test in favour for his Optus Stadium in Perth yeah um Gilly half of all Kiwis live in WA for the mining jobs and yet you cant even fill up a day 1 1st test in a ANZAC clash #AUSvNZ

Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Optus Hi Aman, I appreciate that but I was told that before when I was promised multiple phone calls that never eventuated. Never mind the FTTN service we are getting drops out constantly and isn’t as reliable as the previous DSL service at my old address.

Hugh_96 (@Hugh_96) reported@susanmandrews RA seems to be taking quite a unique approach to the women’s rugby program. We have all been through it. Unless it is a significant issue which requires an apology eg Optus/Telstra outages, just put out a holding statement & some spin. RA is lucky not much media interest in rugby

Robot Cave (@RobotCaveCom) reportedOrbital robotics is quietly becoming a real commercial business, not a DARPA demo. Northrop's Mission Robotic Vehicle just launched on a Falcon 9 with two robotic arms and three detachable Mission Extension Pods. In 2027, it will autonomously dock with the Optus satellite at ~27,000 miles up and bolt on a pod to extend its life by 6 years. The Optus bird launched in 2009, designed for 15 years. It's not broken. It just needs propellant. That's the whole thesis here. The business model shift is what stands out. Operators buy and own the MEPs permanently attached to their spacecraft. That frees the MRV to keep servicing other vehicles, more like a mobile repair truck than a dedicated tug. Two MEVs have already delivered 10 years of combined life extension across three customers. The unit economics are starting to close. Autonomous proximity ops at GEO velocities, with no margin for error, is the hard part. Does the MRV's dual-arm approach give it enough dexterity to handle satellites it wasn't originally designed to service?

Tassie Explorer (@TasExplorer7000) reported@Zlunks @DavePaul__ @SBSNews Or it goes to a subscription service and you have to pay to watch. Remember when Optus shared the rights with SBS?

DaPeach (@DiZPeach) reported@noplaceforsheep We were with Optus for over 15 years. Then they decided that they were pulling out of our area. Bad luck to us. Still after another 15 years trying to sort out random accounts. Baaaaaaaastards.

Freo ⚓ Pope (@FreoPope) reported@Kimbo_Ramplin @_BradleyWilliam The problem is at Optus there will only be a few hundred tickets at $35. They lie by omission about the split between ticket prices. Most seats at Optus "no bad seats" Stadium will be category 1 or 2.
