David Clark (@D_M_Clark_) reported from Koroit, Victoria@Optus Is actually the web page design that’s the issue- it references something that doesn’t exist on that page. I’ll try your advice. Maybe someone can have a look at the page to ensure it’s helpful… 🤔

Robert Byrne (@TheRealIamRob) reported@Raf_Epstein so "...Optus to hand over customer data to the banks...". Would that be done through some yet-to-be-developed API? This will just create more coupling in an already complex system, making the next major system failure even more catastrophic. It must be done.

Taraariana (@Taraariana4) reportedAnd you have the ***** to say that your service is still safe to use because no WiFi passwords were accessed?! Every other bit of personal info they have but thank christ the Optus WiFi is safe.
-
WOPR DEVOPS Headly Earnest Bellringer, 6EQUJ5 (@RealNickHodge) reported@Dannyjboom @moylecroft You read that from the ConsenSys marketing material right? Now, practically, how would this help in the Optus situation? Where is the decrypt key to your on-chain PII data stored? Db? You are throwing the wrong tech at a non-tech problem.

Shane Bryan (@ShaneBryan_IT) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaI think better wording is needed for the #optus incident. My understanding is that it wasn’t a hack, it wasn’t a breach, nor an attack & that the data was leaked through incompetence. I’m still reading articles about it mentioning terms such as “firewall” in ways implying a hack.

james (@jameshawkings36) reported@AussieJim11 @_davidlimbrick @pedroswift66 Yeah it's pretty obvious it is needed to be kept. Eg if the police contact optus for info on who owns a phone number that is committing a crime and optus can only tell them John Smith does, it doesn't help them at all.

Sickoslater (@sickoslater) reported@CarlitoswayAus @Jeremy_Kirk Not really relevant in this case, they've got literally enough data to start a bank account in your name, potentially. There's literally nothing you can do to stop that barring hiring a third party service to monitor your credit, which is presumably what optus will do.

Lyn (aka The Tractor 🚜) (@lyng62) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@wallyscr Thanks Aaron. I had been considering getting a dongle or a SIM card or something with Optus just to keep the account (been with them nearly 30 years) but recent events have given me bad juju

The Real Me (@TheRealMeAlso) reported@Kate3015 I'm surprised that Optus have not mentioned the complete dropouts of the network, on that day. I can only speak for myself but I had zero signal for hours, at least twice on that day. Coincidence? Let me know if it happened to you.

Joseph O'Donoghue (@josephodonoghue) reportedAs an #Optus customer, I’m still yet to receive a single communication about the state of my data. Yesterday though, I received two overseas message requests on WhatsApp from people I don’t know. #WTAF
