I don't think I ever gave Optus any info. I was with Virgin until Optus took over. Just stayed with them paying month to month. I never joined an Optus plan

@gomikestevens @Optus Can't help but think that if companies had to pay users actual material compensation (not just a fine payable to the government) when this happens, they'd find ways for it to not happen.

Interesting… haven’t been a customer of @Optus for over 6 months. Just got notification my details were included in the breach. Legally how long are #Optus allowed to hold my personal data if I’m no longer a customer?? #ombudsman care to answer @kbrspace?

@redruby17 @erstkate @kcarruthers I'll also ask for new Medicare card & number if they can. Given the numbers of folk affected by this data steal, the Govt depts should help & Optus should pay for all the inconvenience, stress caused & loss of faith in organisations.
