  @toninicho I am now, seriously, thinking of changing my carrier after years of being with Optus Problem is Telstra cost me a first full money last time I was with them and I dropped Vodaphone over their poor customer service.

  The telecommunications industry needs a closer look by the Australian ombudsman or whoever regulates fees being taken for service not provided. Telcos with phone only service centres overseas are in the perfect position to rip people off under the banner of Optus/Telstra.

  @Optus My current internet sometimes struggles to stream video. Giving me worse internet for cheaper doesn’t sound like a great solution.

  @Jakie_1993 Yeah, someone a few years back thought I was crazy moving mobile from optus. Said not really, as have optus internet in residence. I said if mobile goes down and internet down at same time, no chance to communicate. So always check if mobile piggybacks optus network

Then we asked about loyalty. Then retention. Then the numbers did not add up. AI spotted the issue. One plan change had not actually been processed. So, we pushed again. Final result: Old bill: $251.30/month New bill: $228.80/month Yearly saving: $270 AI did not magically save me money. It just stopped me from giving up while the telco maze tried to win. Next target: Telstra internet.

  @Teh_Jkr @Optus I spent 2 hours taking to support to get the intro deals they have to save 30 bucks, but it's still insane how expensive it is when I don't need more data, especially since I lose reception in Melbourne

  @Teh_Jkr @Optus Look into new customer deals… If you find one that suits cancel your current plan and sign up with a new one. Loyalty gets you nowhere with them OR Telstra they’ve done the same.
