@Optus @RunnerSA18 Due to your weak risk management and communication. People are going to get scammed and ID stolen very soon, even those whose without high risk information being leaked, could still risk clicking on scam text, which cover up by using this incident.

The Optus response as reported on the ABC is incredible. “We lost enough of your data for bank accounts to be opened in your name, so you might wanna look out for that if you think that would be a bad thing”.

@Optus @RunnerSA18 You do understand how many people still lack of knowledge protecting themselves to scam call and text. SCAM warning!! "We are calling from Optus, I'm sorry to inform you, your data has been leaked in the recent incident, please confirm you are the correct person."

My take on the potential Optus data breach: I’m thrilled that a critical infrastructure asset operator only potentially suffered a PII breach, not a disruptive event (whether malicious/non-malicious*). And shut it down + let the authorities know.

@KerriD05 @Optus It’s terrible, I sent them a message and they respond back with a statement they released from to the media. But where are our messages ???

Hi @Optus, a customer here. How do dare you tell your millions of consumers to be "diligent". We pay you to be diligent with our private info. We are not experts in this field, you're supposed to be.

Optus tweeps - would now be a good time to switch mobile carriers? Is the breach that bad? Not for me, honestly asking for a friend who isn't sure.

@AusBravo @RavenZech2 @Optus Exactly. At least with Telstra. You know they'll try & fix it. This has happened to many times with Optus!
