@toninicho I am now, seriously, thinking of changing my carrier after years of being with Optus Problem is Telstra cost me a first full money last time I was with them and I dropped Vodaphone over their poor customer service.

@joshgnosis Exetel switched from Optus to Telstra's network about a year ago. I had to provide my license number again when activating the new SIM, so presumably they hadn't held on to that data from when I originally signed up. Hopefully they were validating ID with gov rather than Optus.

…wish I was an Optus customer…wouldn’t mind a new drivers license and practical new identity…does a clean credit rating go with that?

found some old chat transcripts with optus when i first signed up with them last year for a prepaid mobile service. used my medicare card and not my d/l. which is a relief since i've already memorised my number and would hate to get a new one. (i have a thing with numbers ok.)

@joshgnosis They haven't told me ****. I'm an ex-Virgin customer & current Optus customer & I haven't received any email or text from Optus. Have I avoided having my data revealed or has Optus ****** up on this as well?

@SenPaterson @Birmo The Albanese government has no such responsibility. It is the responsibility of Optus to help the ‘Optus victims’. In fact, the executive team & board can even contribute from their own pocket. Honestly, I can’t take this child seriously. Patterson is nothing, if not mediocre.

@lynlinking @WgarNews There is also a problem identifying what happened to whom. A phone call reveals everything is clear, yet an email says otherwise. Who is responsible for getting the truth out of Optus? And when do they reveal exactly what information was compromised for each individual?

@katiehauth @nadinevoncohen I received the email from Optus outlining the kind of information that has been compromised. Trouble is I don't remember which kind of information I provided it is soooo long ago.
