@Optus @RunnerSA18 Hi @optus has your 24/7 chat gone down? On hold on chat for 2 hours . Then site stopped working and can't get on. Thanks

Anyone else concerned that Optus mentioned that they had kept "past customer records"? Like is that allowed?

If you have received this secondary notification from Optus that your licence details have been compromised, please attend a Department of Transport Driver and Vehicle Service Centre with a copy of your Optus breach notice, as well as two forms of primary identification.

In what would usually be good advice, Optus tried to position itself as victim rather than the bad guy. It did so clumsily. Public affairs boss Sally Oelerich's interview with 2GB was particularly poor. It's almost always a bad idea to put up the comms person as the spokesperson

@Optus @RunnerSA18 You really screwed up this time, customer information is still out there on the internet and unable to be recovered. Here’s a question for you, what do law enforcement members do, now that our names and address’ are in the public domain??? Silent numbers where created to protect.

Bo Reidler (@2020digging) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria
@abcnews Patterson reckons companies make errors? This is unadulterated negligence. @Optus has failed in their *legal* responsibility to keep their customers’ data safe. APP11. Penny pinching on security while dishing it out for incompetent executives is a recipe for disaster.

Kara Robinson (@kararmy15) reported
@KirstyWebeck I'm really bad at technology so they would be able to lead it back to me because I a) texted it from my personal number and b) I spelt Optus wrong c) I wrote my own name on it, then crossed it off and wrote 'actually, someone else' d) My only demand was a 1964 Gumby figurine

@GeoffsOpinions You can cancel early with Optus & just pay out the device fee.
