@neilabenson @MarkBaileyMP @TMRQld Metadata retention laws brought in by the LNP Abbott government. I believe this exact situation was argued against when these laws came in. Nevertheless Optus didn’t nothing close to best practice (more like worst practice) in the way they stored the data.

@VictorDominello @LucyThack So this means the NSW Govt doesn’t have a plan when a major cyber incident occurs, in the cyber era Let that sink in 😡 Meanwhile @Optus how longs my data been exposed?

  • Mariana__Mi Mariana (@Mariana__Mi) reported

@thnkingcrumpet @Globalbiosec @Optus Since when do you need ID for Insta? Never heard of such a thing.

  • Nas021275 Nic (@Nas021275) reported

@ktdenise @JimHawk78 @Optus Terrible that this has happened.

  • troyhunt Troy Hunt (@troyhunt) reported

@SoniaCuff The assumption is the problem. Plus, “a specific way” should involve a vulnerability disclosure policy and sometimes, a bit bounty. Lot of stuff there that should go well beyond just a contact address for a company like Optus.

  • TrepChains TrepChains (@TrepChains) reported

Today's update - can't login to my @Optus account... Everything will be fine, right?!?

  • margotdate Queen Margot (@margotdate) reported

@RonniSalt @Optus And one of the most important lessons of crisis management is predicting all terrible scenarios before they happen and having a plan to deal with them. Optus? No

  • Jo11762586 Jo (@Jo11762586) reported

@VictorDominello The communication from Optus is useless and the time it’s taking to get actual help and support is too long and causing more stress. All the while Optus is happily sending out bills.

  • danielbowen Daniel Bowen (@danielbowen) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

I was an Optus broadband customer until 2019. No contact from them yet. Wondering if I’m safe or not.

  • MavrosAll Peter Mavros - All Comments Preceded By Alleged ☠☠ (@MavrosAll) reported

@JustSaying8888 No, they use Optus network but all business and info is held and dealt by them, based in SA
